Abstract

The invention discloses a load shedding method based on importance of loads. When a power grid is in failure and a part of loads need to be shed to keep the power grid stable, the load shedding method is implemented by performing primary selection according to the load capacity needed to be shed and the importance of the loads, specifically, selecting from the unimportant load until the selected load capacity is higher or equal to the requirement amount; if the over-shedding during the primary selection is lower than the set threshold value, then executing the result of the primary selection, otherwise, performing secondary selection by selecting N1 loads which are important relatively from the selected loads while shedding the rest loads, selecting N2 loads which are unimportant relatively from the unselected loads, selecting the combination of the capacity and residual requirement amount which are most similar from the N1+N2 loads and shedding the same, thereby not only guaranteeing the total load shedding amount to meet requirement for stability of the power grid but keeping the over-shedding amount within an acceptable range with consideration on the importance of the loads.
