A remote modifying request sent by an E-mail sender is received through a server; the content of the remote modifying request at least comprises the sent E-mail to be modified, the timestamp of the sent E-mail, the ID number of an E-mail receiver which receives the sent E-mail, and modification information, wherein the content of the sent E-mail is a dynamic webpage link address generated by the server according to the text content of the sent E-mail and pointing at the text content of the sent E-mail; the server modifies the sent E-mail received by the E-mail receiver according to the remote modifying request. The technical problem that important or private information is leaked due to that the E-mail is mistakenly edited and cannot be recalled is solved, and the awkwardness due to that the E-mail sender sends the E-mail mistakenly or the E-mail sender regrets after sending the E-mail is effectively avoided.
