Abstract

The invention provides a network equipment configuration method and a network equipment configuration device. The network equipment configuration method comprises the steps of: determining whether network equipment supports a configuration operation according to capability set information in a prestored capability set information base when issuing the configuration operation to the network equipment; and if so, constructing operation request information corresponding to the configuration operation according to the capability set information and the configuration operation, and issuing the operation request information to the network equipment, so that the network equipment executes the configuration operation according to the operation request information. The network equipment configuration method and the network equipment configuration device can improve overall performance of a network management system substantially.
