Description

[0001] The present invention relates to a method for treating keratin fibers, which method comprises applying to these fibers a composition comprising at least one chemical oxidizing agent, at least one (bi)carbonate and at least one silicate, and before and / or after this application applying to these keratin fibers a composition comprising one or more compounds chosen from organic acids, amino acids, chitosan, vitamin B, vitamin C, vanillin, their salts, their solvates and mixtures thereof. Background Art

[0002] When people wish to change their hair color, especially when they wish to achieve a lighter color than their original color, hair lightening or bleaching is often required beforehand. In order to do this, lightening or bleaching products are used.

[0003] The lightening of hair is evaluated by the "depth of tone" which characterizes the degree or level of lightening. The concept of "tone" is based on a classification of natural shades, a tone separating each shade from the shade immediately behind or before it. This definition and classification of natural shades is well known to hair styling professionals and is disclosed in the book Sciences destraitementscapillaires [The Science of Hair Care] by Charles Zviak, 1988, published by Masson, pages 215 and 278.

[0004] The depth of hue ranges from 1 (black) to 10 (very light gold), with one integer corresponding to one hue; the higher the number, the lighter the hue.

[0005] It is known practice to lighten or bleach the hair, in the vast majority of cases under alkaline pH conditions, with a lightening or bleaching composition containing at least one chemical oxidizing agent. The action of this oxidizing agent is to degrade the melanin of the hair, which, depending on the nature of the oxidizing agent present and the pH conditions, results in a more or less pronounced lightening of the fibers. Thus, for relatively mild lightening, the oxidizing agent is generally hydrogen peroxide. When a greater lightening is desired, in particular when the treated hair is dark, persulfates are generally used in the presence of hydrogen peroxide. However, the lightening obtained by the action of this combination is not always satisfactory, since the hair obtained has a rather unattractive orange-yellow hue that is very different from the natural hue, which complicates subsequent coloring by limiting it to obtaining warm tones. Moreover, lightening compositions based on persulfates may lead to a deterioration of the quality and integrity of the fibers. The hair may then end up deformed or damaged, which leads in particular to pronounced breakage during combing or detangling.

[0006] Therefore, in order to overcome these drawbacks, it is common practice to use hair care compositions that aim to condition the hair by giving it satisfactory cosmetic properties, in particular smoothness, gloss, softness to the touch, suppleness and lightness, and also good detangling properties, so as to make it easy to comb and manage, so that it is easier to style and keep its shape. However, the conditioning effect obtained with these hair care compositions disappears rapidly over time and does not make it possible to strengthen the hair cortex, in particular by improving the density of bonds between proteins present in the cortex of the individual hairs, so as to protect or repair the individual hairs and reduce their breakage, for example during combing or detangling. Moreover, in certain cases, these care compositions may adversely affect the dyeing or bleaching of the hair thus treated.

[0007] There is therefore a real need to develop a process that makes it possible to obtain an effective lightening of keratin fibres, in particular dark keratin fibres, with a less yellow and more natural result. Such a process should also be more respectful of the quality and integrity of the fibres and make it possible in particular to maintain, indeed even improve, the quality and integrity of the keratin fibres and in particular to reduce their breakage, while avoiding adversely affecting the lightening, in particular the deyellowing, of the fibres thus treated.

[0008] The Applicant Company has surprisingly found that all or some of these objects can be achieved by the method according to the invention. Summary of the invention

[0434] Administration regimen

[0435] Step a): Pretreatment

[0436] Compositions A1 to A9 are applied to tresses of HT4 Caucasian type hair according to the bath ratios (g composition / g hair) indicated in the table below. The hair is massaged with the fingers, making circular movements (5 times) along the entire length of the tresses, and then the tresses are left for 5 minutes. The tresses are subsequently wrung out of water and then dried with a hair dryer.

[0437] Step b): Bleaching

[0438] Composition B u To B zThe composition is applied to the hair tresses treated during step a) according to the bath ratios (g composition / g hair) indicated in the table below. The tresses are then placed on a hot plate at 33° C. (a temperature representative of the temperature of a single hair on the head) for 25 minutes, then turned over and placed on the hot plate for another 25 minutes. The tresses are then rinsed with tap water for 30 seconds, the water is wrung out, shampooed with DOP shampoo, the water is wrung out and then dried with a hair dryer.

[0439] The tresses were then evaluated for color and integrity according to the evaluation protocol described below.

[0440] Bath ratio

[0441] [Table 5]

[0442]

[0443] Color evaluation method

[0444] The color of the hair tresses was evaluated according to the CIE L*a*b* system using a Minolta spectrophotometer CM2600D colorimeter (illuminant D65).

[0445] In this L*a*b* system, L* represents the intensity of the color, a* indicates the chromaticity of the color on the green / red axis, and b* indicates the chromaticity of the color on the blue / yellow axis. The higher the value of L*, the lighter the color. The higher the value of a*, the redder the color, and the higher the value of b*, the yellower the color.

[0446] Methods for assessing the integrity of individual hairs

[0447] This test involves pulling on a wet, single strand of hair to see if it breaks, deforms irreversibly, or deforms and then returns to its original shape and length. Hairstylists often use this test to assess the integrity of their clients' hair. The test involves taking 6 hair fibers, soaking them in water for 30 seconds, then holding them in both hands, spreading the fingers and thumb of each hand so that there are 3 cm of fiber between the hands, and then pulling so that the fiber deforms another 1 cm. The fiber is held for 3 seconds, then the tension is gently released. The fiber is laid horizontally on a white paper for 5 minutes to dry, and then evaluated.

[0448] In the laboratory, a ruler was used to ensure that the distance was adhered to. The test was repeated 5 times, ie a total of 30 fibers.

[0449] The integrity of individual hairs is classified using the following criteria:

[0450] If the sum of broken and irreversibly deformed fibers is equal to or greater than 10, the individual hair has very poor integrity.

[0451] If the sum of broken and irreversibly deformed fibers is from 6 to 9 (inclusive), the individual hair has poor integrity.

[0452] If the sum of broken and irreversibly deformed fibers is between 2 and 5 (inclusive), the integrity of an individual hair is good.

[0453] If the sum of broken and irreversibly deformed fibers is 1 or less, the integrity of a single hair is very good.

[0483] Method for evaluating hair fiber repair by differential scanning calorimetry

[0484] The differential scanning calorimetry technique is a method known to those skilled in the art that is able to quantify the strengthening of proteins in the cortex of keratin fibers (Kinetics of the changes imparted to the main structural components of human hair by thermal treatment, https: / / doi.org / 10.1016 / j.tca.2018.01.014 & F.-J. Wortmann and H. Deutz, J. Appl. Polym. Sci., 48, 137 (1993). The principle of the test is to measure the denaturation temperature of the protein. It is generally believed that the higher the protein denaturation temperature, the better the integrity of the cortical proteins, which reflects a reduction in fiber breakage.

[0485] The denaturation temperature is directly related to the binding density of keratin present in the cortex. Therefore, the lower the denaturation temperature, the lower the binding density of proteins to each other, the disulfide bonds are broken and the cortex is damaged. A difference of 2°C is considered by those skilled in the art to be a significant change.

[0486] The instrument used for the measurements is a DSC2500 reference instrument from TA Instruments (temperature range: 30°C-200°C; heating gradient 5°C / min). The instrument measures the energy flow during heating of the sample. The temperature at which the energy flow is at its maximum represents the denaturation temperature.

[0487] Method for assessing hair weight loss

[0488] The hair tresses were placed in a glove box with controlled humidity RH 45% for 12 hours and then weighed at ambient temperature before processing.

[0489] After treatment, the dried tresses were placed back into the glove box with controlled humidity RH 45% for 12 h and then weighed again.

[0490] Therefore, the weight loss of each hair tress was calculated based on the weight values before and after treatment.

[0491] The percentage of hair weight loss is expressed by the following equation:

[0492]

[0493] in:

[0494] w0: initial weight of the strand before processing

[0495] w1: weight of the tress after complete processing.

[0496] Colorimetric measurement
