Description

[Technical field]

[0001] The present invention relates to an alarm device that uses vibration to wake a person up. [Background technology]

[0002] 2. Description of the Related Art There is provided an alarm device that is placed in contact with a part of the body and issues an alarm by vibration (see, for example, Patent Document 1).

[0003] The alarm device disclosed in Patent Document 1 is a pillow equipped with an alarm function, which wakes up the user at a preset time when the user is sleeping in a train seat. This pillow is equipped with an audio player and a vibrator, and music plays from the audio player at a preset time, after which vibrations are emitted from the vibrator and given to the user's body (around the nape). This is said to enable the user to wake up comfortably. [Prior art documents] [Patent documents]

[0004] [Patent Document 1] JP 2001-321259 A Summary of the Invention [Problem to be solved by the invention]

[0005] However, in the above-mentioned pillow-like structure, the sound and vibration given to the user are at a comfortable level, and it may be difficult to wake up at the specified time. Although there are conventional alarm devices that can wake up the user reliably with a loud sound, there is a problem that such a loud sound can be a nuisance to those around. In addition, it is possible to wake up the user reliably by giving a strong vibration, but giving such vibration to the nape of the user is not necessarily desirable from a safety standpoint.

[0006] SUMMARY OF THE PRESENT EMBODIMENT An object of the present invention is to provide an alarm device that safely and reliably wakes up a user without causing a nuisance to those around him / her. [Means for solving the problem]

[0007] (1) An alarm device according to the present invention comprises a housing, an oscillator provided in the housing, a control device provided in the housing and causing the oscillator to vibrate at a preset time, a vibration transmission member provided on the outer surface of the housing and transmitting the vibration, and a wearing member for wearing the housing on an arm with the vibration transmission member in contact with the skin. The vibration transmission member is provided with a stimulating piece that contacts the skin and displaces the skin in a plurality of mutually different directions simultaneously due to the vibration.

[0008] According to this invention, the user attaches the housing to his / her arm via the attachment member. In this state, the vibration transmission member provided on the housing abuts against the skin of the arm. At a preset time, the control device vibrates the oscillator, and the vibration is transmitted to the vibration transmission member. The vibration transmission member includes a stimulating piece, which displaces the skin in multiple directions different from each other simultaneously due to the vibration. Such displacement of the skin is felt by the user as an unpleasant stimulus. As a result, the user can be safely and reliably awakened even if the user is in a deep sleep state. Moreover, since the stimulus is not accompanied by sound, it does not cause discomfort to anyone other than the user.

[0009] (2) It is preferable that the vibration transmitting member is provided so as to be detachable from the housing.

[0010] In this configuration, since the vibration transmission member is detachable from the housing, a variety of vibration transmission members with different shapes of stimulating pieces can be prepared, so that a stimulation can be given according to the user's skin sensation, thereby realizing an alarm device that is effective for each individual user.

[0011] (3) It is preferable that the housing is curved so as to bring the stimulation pieces into even contact with the skin.

[0012] In this configuration, the stimulation pieces come into even contact with the patient's skin, so that the vibration is effectively transmitted to the user's skin, and the awakening effect is more pronounced. [Brief description of the drawings]

[Figure 14] FIG. 14 is a plan view of a main part of a vibration transmitting plate 101 according to the sixth embodiment of the present invention. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

[0014] Hereinafter, preferred embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the accompanying drawings. Note that this embodiment is merely one aspect of the alarm device according to the present invention, and it goes without saying that the implementation may be changed without departing from the gist of the present invention.

[0015] FIG. 1 is an external view of an alarm device according to a first embodiment of the present invention.

[0016] The alarm device 10 has a clock function and a vibration generating function, and is typically used as a wristwatch as shown in Fig. 1(b), and can generate vibrations at a time preset by the user. The vibrations cause discomfort to the user, as will be described later in detail, and thus strongly call the user's attention.

[0017] The alarm device 10 comprises a device main body 11 and a wearing belt 12 (corresponding to the "wearing member" described in the claims). A hook-and-loop fastener is used for the wearing belt 12. In this embodiment, the device main body 11 is worn on the user's arm via the wearing belt 12, but the user may wear the device main body 11 on a limb other than the arm. Note that, although the wearing belt 11 is made of a hook-and-loop fastener in this embodiment, it is not limited to this and may be anything that can fix the device main body 11 to a limb.

[0018] Fig. 2 is a functional block diagram of the device main body 11. Fig. 3 is an external view of the device main body 11.

[0019] As shown in Figs. 1 to 3, the device main body 11 includes a housing 15, a display unit 16, operation switches 17 and 18, a power supply circuit 20 equipped with a battery 19, an IC 21 (corresponding to the "control device" described in the claims) to which power is supplied from the power supply circuit 20, an oscillator 22, and a vibration transmission plate 23 (corresponding to the "vibration transmission member" described in the claims). In this embodiment, the housing 15 is divided into an upper part 24 and a lower part 25. The housing 15 is configured by fitting these parts together. The housing 15 is typically molded from resin, and the upper part 24 and the lower part 25 are separably fitted together via a known fitting structure. The material constituting the housing 15 is not limited to resin.

[0020] 4 is an external view of the housing 15. FIG. 4(a) is a view seen from the upper part 24 side, and FIG. 4(b) is a view seen from the lower part 25 side.

[0021] As shown in Figs. 3 and 4, the outer shape of the housing 15 in this embodiment is a substantially rectangular parallelepiped, and its outer dimensions are a vertical dimension 26 of 40 mm, a horizontal dimension 27 of 60 mm, and a height dimension 28 of 15 mm. However, the outer shape of the housing 15 is not particularly limited, and it may be of any size that allows the user to wear it on their arm or other limbs. As shown in Fig. 4(a), a first sheet portion 29 and a second sheet portion 30 are formed on the upper surface of the upper portion 24 of the housing 15. The display unit 16 is disposed on the first sheet portion 29. The operation switches 17 and 18 are disposed on the second sheet portion 30. A through hole 31 is provided in the center of the first sheet portion 29, and wiring connecting the display unit 16 and the IC 21 is inserted therethrough.

[0022] The display unit 16 and the operation switches 17, 18 are attached in a state in which they are positioned on the first sheet portion 29 and the second sheet portion 30, respectively. As shown in Fig. 3, the display unit 16 has a liquid crystal panel 13. This liquid crystal panel 13 and the operation switches 17, 18 are exposed on the outer surface of the housing 15. The battery 19 and the power supply circuit 20, as well as the IC 21 and the oscillator 22, are built into the housing 15. These are fixed to the housing 15 by known means.

[0023] As shown in FIG. 4(b), a third sheet portion 32 is formed on the bottom surface of the lower portion 25 of the housing 15. The vibration transmission plate 23 (see FIG. 3(b)) is attached to the third sheet portion 32. A first through hole 33 and a second through hole 34 are provided in the third sheet portion 32. The first through hole 33 is engaged with a fixed claw 35 (see FIG. 5) of the vibration transmission plate 23, and the second through hole 34 is engaged with a swing claw 36 (see FIG. 5) of the vibration transmission plate 23. The structures of the fixed claw 35 and the swing claw 36 will be described later. A recess 37 is provided on the bottom surface of the lower portion 25. In this embodiment, the recess 37 is formed in a crescent shape and is continuous with the third sheet portion 32. The depth of the recess 37 gradually increases toward the third sheet portion 32. When the vibration transmission plate 23 is attached to or detached from the third sheet portion 32, the user's fingers can slide into the recesses 37, making it easy to attach and detach the vibration transmission plate 23.

[0024] As shown in Fig. 3 and Fig. 4, a pair of slits 38 and a pair of slits 39 are provided in the lower part 25 of the housing 15. The pair of slits 38 and the pair of slits 39 are disposed opposite each other along the vertical direction (the direction of the vertical dimension 26). The slits 38 face each other along the height direction (the direction of the height dimension 28). The slits 38 and 39 facing each other along the height direction are connected to each other. Therefore, as shown in Fig. 1, both ends of the attachment belt 12 are inserted into the slits 38 and 39, respectively, and folded back, whereby the both ends are fixed to the attachment belt 12. That is, the attachment belt 12 is wrapped around the user's arm, and the alarm device 10 is easily attached to the user's arm.

[0025] As shown in FIG. 1 and FIG. 2, the display unit 16 has the liquid crystal panel 13 and displays the time, date, etc. The battery 19 and the power supply circuit 20 are of known configuration and supply power to the IC 21. The IC 21 has a built-in clock function, and the operation switch 17 switches between displaying the current time or the alarm time. By operating the operation switch 17, the IC 21 causes the liquid crystal panel 13 to display the current time or to switch to display the alarm time. That is, by operating the operation switch 17, the alarm device 10 functions as a clock or as an alarm that vibrates using the oscillator 22. On the other hand, the operation switch 18 adjusts the current time or the alarm time. By operating the operation switch 18, the IC 21 adjusts the current time displayed by the liquid crystal panel 13 or adjusts the time at which the oscillator 22 is driven.

[0026] The oscillator 22 includes a motor and a weight, and has a known structure. At the set alarm time, the IC 21 drives the oscillator 22. That is, the motor is driven, which rotates the weight. The weight is eccentric with respect to the rotation shaft of the motor, which generates vibration.

[0027] Fig. 5 is a perspective view of the vibration transmission plate 23. Fig. 5(a) is a view from the front side, and Fig. 5(b) is a view from the back side. Fig. 6 is a side view of the vibration transmission plate 23, and Fig. 7 is an enlarged view of the main part in Fig. 6. The figures show the structure of the swinging claw 36.

[0028] This vibration transmission plate 23 is detachably attached to the device body 11 (see FIG. 3(b)). As shown in FIG. 5, the vibration transmission plate 23 is provided with a stimulating piece 39, which comes into contact with the user's skin. As shown in FIG. 3(b), by attaching the vibration transmission plate 23 to the housing 15, the vibrations emitted by the oscillator 22 (see FIG. 2) are transmitted to the user as an unpleasant sensation via the stimulating piece 39, so that the user is immediately awakened even if he or she is asleep.

[0029] The vibration transmission plate 23 is typically made of resin, but there is no particular limitation on the material of the vibration transmission plate 23. As shown in Figures 5 and 6, the vibration transmission plate 23 has a base 38 and the above-mentioned stimulation piece 39. In this embodiment, these are integrally molded, but they may be configured as separate members, and the stimulation piece 39 may be attached to the base 38.

[0030] The base 38 is formed in a rectangular flat plate shape. In this embodiment, the thickness 40 of the base 38 is set to 1.5 mm, but is not particularly limited. The fixed claw 35 and the swinging claw 36 are provided on the base 38. These are molded integrally with the base 38. In this embodiment, the vibration transmission plate 23 is detachably attached to the housing 15. The fixed claw 35 is fitted into the first through hole 33 (see FIG. 4(b)) provided in the housing 15, and the swinging claw 36 is fitted into the second through hole 34 (see FIG. 4(b)).

[0031] A slit 41 is provided in an edge 42 of the base 38. This allows the edge 42 to easily bend elastically, and as a result, the swinging claw 36 can be displaced in the direction of arrow 43 together with the edge 42. The first through hole 33, the second through hole 34, the fixed claw 35 and the swinging claw 36 have a known structure and shape, so a detailed description thereof will be omitted.

[0032] 4 and 5, when the fixed claw 35 is fitted into the first through hole 33 and the swinging claw 36 is pushed into the second through hole 34, the swinging claw 36 is bent and fitted into the second through hole 34. As a result, the base 38 is fitted into the third sheet portion 32, and the vibration transmission plate 23 is attached to the housing 15. The user displaces the swinging claw 36 toward the inside of the base 38 along the direction of the arrow 43, and the swinging claw 36 is easily removed from the second through hole 34, and the vibration transmission plate 23 is removed from the housing 15. Note that the structure for attaching and detaching the vibration transmission plate 23 to and from the housing 15 is not particularly limited, and other known structures may be adopted.

[0033] As shown in Fig. 5 and Fig. 6, the stimulation piece 39 has nine protrusions 51 to 59 in this embodiment. These have the same shape. The protrusions 51 to 59 have a circular bottom edge 48 and are provided so as to protrude from the base 38. The outer peripheral surface 49 of the protrusions 51 to 59 is curved in a spherical shape and bulges outward. In other words, each of the protrusions 51 to 59 is formed in a so-called bowl shape.

[0034] The height dimension 44 of each of the projections 51-59 is set to 2.0 mm in this embodiment, but is not particularly limited thereto. The outer diameter 45 of each of the projections 51-59 is set to 7.0 mm in this embodiment, but is not particularly limited thereto. The projections 51-59 are evenly arranged on the base 38 with a predetermined gap 46 between the adjacent projections 51-59. The dimension of the gap 46 is not particularly limited, but is set to 2.5 mm in this embodiment. In this embodiment, a flat portion 47 is formed on the top of each of the projections 51-59. However, this flat portion 47 may be omitted.

[0035] <Action and effect>

[0036] As shown in Fig. 1, a user can attach the housing 15 of the alarm device 10 to the arm via the belt 12. In this state, the vibration transmission plate 23 comes into contact with the skin of the user's arm. The display unit 16 of the alarm device 10 always displays the current time, and the alarm device 10 can be used as a wristwatch.

[0037] As described above, when the alarm time is set in advance, the IC 21 (see FIG. 2) vibrates the oscillator 22 at the set time, and the vibration is propagated to the vibration transmission plate 23. The vibration transmission plate 23 has a stimulating piece 39, and the stimulating piece 39 has protrusions 51 to 59. Each of the protrusions 51 to 59 is formed in a bowl shape as shown in FIG. 5 and FIG. 6, and has the size as described above. Moreover, since each of the protrusions 51 to 59 is laid out on the vibration transmission plate 23 as shown in FIG. 5, the user's skin is displaced in a plurality of directions different from each other at the same time due to the vibration. Such displacement of the skin is felt as an unpleasant stimulus by the user. As a result, even if the user is in a deep sleep state, the user can be safely and reliably awakened. Moreover, since this stimulus is not accompanied by sound, it does not cause discomfort to people other than the user.

[0038] Incidentally, by changing the design of the shape of the stimulation piece 39, it is possible to prepare vibration transmission plates 23 equipped with various types of stimulation pieces. In this embodiment, since the vibration transmission plate 23 is detachable from the housing 15, it is possible to replace the vibration transmission plate 23 with a different type of stimulation piece, which has the advantage that the user can select the vibration transmission plate 23 according to his / her own sense.

[0039] In this embodiment, the base 38 of the vibration transmission plate 23 is made of a flat plate, but the base 38 may be curved to correspond to the surface shape of the user's arm or other body surfaces. In this case, the stimulation piece 39 is evenly abutted against the user's skin, which is advantageous in that the vibration is effectively transmitted. In this embodiment, the protrusions 51 to 59 are formed in a bowl shape, but they may be formed in a cone shape, a truncated cone shape, or a pyramid shape.

[0040] <Other embodiments>

[0041] Fig. 8 is a perspective view of a vibration transmission plate 63 according to a second embodiment of the present invention. Fig. 8(a) is a view from the front side, and Fig. 8(b) is a view from the back side. Fig. 9 is a side view of the vibration transmission plate 63.

[0042] This vibration transmission plate 63 is provided with a stimulation piece 64. The vibration transmission plate 63 differs from the vibration transmission plate 23 according to the first embodiment in the shape of the stimulation piece 64; whereas the stimulation piece 39 of the vibration transmission plate 23 is provided with nine protrusions 51 to 59, the stimulation piece 64 is made of a single protrusion 65. The other configurations of the vibration transmission plate 63 are similar to those of the vibration transmission plate 23.

[0043] The protrusion 65 has a circular bottom edge 48 and a spherical outer circumferential surface 49. That is, the protrusion 65 is provided on the base 38 and bulges outward. The protrusion 65 is formed in a so-called bowl shape, similar to the protrusions 51 to 59. The height dimension 44 of the protrusion 65 is set to 2.0 mm, but is not particularly limited thereto. The outer diameter 66 of the protrusion 65 is set to 20.0 mm, but is not particularly limited thereto. In this embodiment, no flat surface is formed on the top of the protrusion 65, but a flat surface 47 (see Figs. 5 and 6) may be formed as in the first embodiment. Instead of the flat surface 47, a recess or a concave portion may be formed on the top of the protrusion 65 (protrusions 51 to 59).

[0044] Fig. 10 is a perspective view of a main part of a vibration transmission plate 67 according to a third embodiment of the present invention. Fig. 11 is a diagram showing the structure of this vibration transmission plate 67, in which Fig. 11(a) is a plan view of a main part of the vibration transmission plate 67, and Fig. 11(b) is a view seen from the arrow B in Fig. 11(a).

[0045] A vibration transmission plate 67 according to this embodiment differs from the vibration transmission plate 23 according to the first embodiment in the structure of the stimulation piece 68. Other configurations of the vibration transmission plate 67 are similar to those of the vibration transmission plate 23. In Figs. 10 and 11, the fixed claws 35 and the swinging claws 36 are omitted.

[0046] In this embodiment, the stimulation piece 68 includes six protrusions 71-76. These have the same shape and are curved in a semi-elliptical shape. The height 44 of each of the protrusions 71-76 is set to 2.0 mm, but is not particularly limited thereto. The width 81 of each of the protrusions 71-76 is set to 5.5 mm, but is not particularly limited thereto. The protrusions 71 and 72 form a first protrusion pair 78 and are arranged symmetrically with respect to the center of the base 38. The protrusions 73 and 74 form a second protrusion pair 79, and the protrusions 75 and 76 form a third protrusion pair 80. The positional relationship between the protrusions 73 and 74 and the positional relationship between the protrusions 75 and 76 are set to be the same as the positional relationship between the protrusions 71 and 72, respectively. The second protrusion pair 79 and the third protrusion pair 80 are arranged symmetrically on both sides of the first protrusion pair 78, as shown in the figure.

[0047] 12 is a plan view of a main part of a vibration transmission plate 85 according to a fourth embodiment of the present invention. Fig. 12(a) shows the shape of a stimulation piece 86 according to this embodiment, and Fig. 12(b) is a view taken along the line B-arrow in Fig. 12(a).

[0048] The vibration transmission plate 85 differs from the vibration transmission plate 67 according to the third embodiment in the shape of the stimulation pieces 86 provided on the base 38. That is, while the vibration transmission plate 67 has the first protrusion pair 78, the second protrusion pair 79, and the third protrusion pair 80 provided on the base 38 (see Figs. 10 and 11), the vibration transmission plate 85 has a fourth protrusion pair 87 and a fifth protrusion pair 88 instead of the first protrusion pair 78.

[0049] The fourth projection pair 87 has projections 89 and 90, and the fifth projection pair 88 has projections 91 and 92. These have the same shape and are curved in a semi-elliptical shape. That is, the projections 89 to 92 have the same shape as the projections 73 to 76, and the relative positional relationship between the projections 89 and 90 and the relative positional relationship between the projections 91 and 92 are the same as those of the projections 73 and 74. However, in this embodiment, the projections 89 to 92 are similar in shape to the projections 73 to 76 in a plan view, and are formed smaller than the projections 73 to 76. However, the projections 89 to 92 may be formed in the same shape as the projections 73 to 76.

[0050] The fourth projection pair 87 and the fifth projection pair 88 are disposed symmetrically with respect to the center of the base 38. However, the direction in which the fourth projection pair 87 and the fifth projection pair 88 face each other is perpendicular to the direction in which the second projection pair 79 and the third projection pair 80 face each other. The height 44 of the projections 89 to 92 is set to 2.0 mm, similar to the projections 73 to 76, but is not particularly limited thereto.

[0051] 13 is a plan view of a main part of a vibration transmission plate 89 according to a fifth embodiment of the present invention. Fig. 13(a) shows the shape of a stimulation piece 90 according to this embodiment, and Fig. 13(b) is a view taken along the line B-arrow in Fig. 13(a).

[0052] The vibration transmission plate 89 differs from the vibration transmission plate 67 according to the third embodiment in the shape of the stimulation piece 90 provided on the base .

[0053] In this embodiment, the stimulation piece 90 has eight protrusions 91 to 98. These have the same shape and are formed in a hexagonal feather shape. The height 44 of each of the protrusions 91 to 98 is set to 2.0 mm in this embodiment, but is not particularly limited. The width 99, length 100, and apex angle θ of each of the protrusions 91 to 98 are set to 12.0 mm, 10 mm, and 90° (degrees), respectively, in this embodiment, but are not particularly limited. The protrusions 91 and 92 form a sixth protrusion pair, the protrusions 93 and 94 form a seventh protrusion pair, the protrusions 95 and 96 form an eighth protrusion pair, and the protrusions 97 and 98 form a ninth protrusion pair. The above protrusion pairs are arranged symmetrically with respect to the center of the base 38.

[0054] 14 is a plan view of a main part of a vibration transmission plate 101 according to a sixth embodiment of the present invention. Fig. 14(a) shows the shape of a stimulation piece 102 according to this embodiment, and Fig. 14(b) is a view taken along the line B-arrow in Fig. 14(a).

[0055] The vibration transmission plate 101 differs from the vibration transmission plate 67 in the shape of the stimulation piece 102 provided on the base 38 .

[0056] In this embodiment, the stimulation piece 102 has five protrusions 103 to 107. These have the same shape and are formed in a hexagonal feather shape. The height 44 of each of the protrusions 103 to 107 is set to 2.0 mm in this embodiment, but is not particularly limited. The width 99, length 100, and apex angle θ of each of the protrusions 103 to 107 are set to 12.0 mm, 10 mm, and 90° (degrees), respectively, in this embodiment, but are not particularly limited. The protrusions 103 and 104 form a tenth protrusion pair, and the protrusions 105 and 106 form an eleventh protrusion pair. These protrusion pairs are arranged symmetrically with respect to the center of the base 38. The protrusion 107 is arranged at the middle position between the tenth protrusion pair and the eleventh protrusion pair, and in this embodiment, the center of the protrusion 107 coincides with the center of the base 38.

[0057] As described above, in the present invention, the above-mentioned stimulating pieces 39, 64, 68, 86, 90, 102, etc. are designed, but it is needless to say that the present invention is not limited to these. For example, the stimulating pieces may be designed as cylindrical protrusions, or may be designed in a cone or pyramid shape.
