The invention relates to a surface coating system and method for the surface colouring and coating of marble and marble derivatives, which enables the surface of marble or marble derivatives to be coloured and surface coated in a desired colour and enables marble or marble derivatives to be used in outdoor applications.

[0006] State of the Art

[0007] Natural stones have been an indispensable part of architectural design and interior / exterior decoration for centuries. One of these natural stones, marble and its derivatives (such as granite, travertine, onyx, precious and semi-precious stones, etc.) stand out with their durability, diversity and aesthetic beauty. Marble and its derivatives are widely used in interior flooring, wall cladding, kitchen and bathroom countertops, furniture and decorative product applications.

[0008] It is imperative to implement regular maintenance procedures in order to ensure the longevity of marble and its derivatives. The utilisation of cleaning products with a neutral pH value is essential for daily cleaning routines. In addition, the regular application of a protective sealant is crucial to prevent the staining of marble surfaces.

[0009] Despite the numerous advantages offered by marble in interior design, particularly in terms of aesthetics and functionality, it is not often chosen for outdoor applications. This is due to the fact that marble and its derivatives, whether raw or polished, are not of the desired quality for outdoor use. They are also sensitive to external factors such as acidic rains and intense sunlight, which can lead to problems such as discolouration and abrasion over time. Additionally, marble and its derivatives used outdoors are prone to staining and dirt accumulation due to oil, dirt, and other environmental factors, resulting in a deterioration of their aesthetic appearance. Consequently, marble andits derivatives are predominantly used indoors rather than in outdoor applications. This underscores the necessity for a system or method that facilitates the utilisation of marble and its derivatives in outdoor settings.

[0010] An example of the known state of the art in the research conducted in the literature is the document numbered TR2015 / 00810, which is related to a method of coating marble that is used for decorative appearance, thermal insulation, sound insulation, waterproofing and sound insulation in interior or exterior cladding, indoor and outdoor floors. The method under discussion involves the reduction in mass of marble, a natural stone, with the objective of reducing costs and utilisation of natural stone by using less marble with reduced mass. To this end, marble is coated on a polyurethane material. However, this application does not enable the marble surface to be made resistant to external factors. Hence, the use of marble is limited to interior applications.

[0011] Consequently, the existence of the above problems and the inadequacy of the existing solutions necessitated a development in the relevant technical field.

[0012] The purpose of the invention

[0013] The present invention pertains to a surface protection and colouring system and method that has been developed for the purpose of eliminating the aforementioned disadvantages and introducing new advantages to the relevant technical field.

[0014] The primary objective of the invention is to provide a surface protection and colouring system and method that enables marble or its derivative surfaces to be coloured in the desired colour and to be utilised in outdoor applications.

[0015] The objective of the invention is to provide a surface protection and colouring system and method that enables the utilisation of raw and polished marble and its derivatives from marble quarries by colouring them in desired colours and making them resistant to external factors by surface protection.

[0016] Another objective of the invention is to provide a surface protection and colouring system and method which enables marble and its derivatives to resist snow, ice, frost and sand storms in outdoor applications thanks to its surface protection and to prevent dirt on the surface by cleaning the surface itself with rain and washing water.A further objective of the invention is to provide a surface protection and colouring system and method that prevents marble and its derivatives from undesirable adverse effects such as fading. This enables marble and its derivatives to be used in many areas, including pools, spas, steam rooms, exterior cladding, outdoor walkways, highways, car parks, helipads, etc.

[0030] Detailed Description of the Invention

[0031] In this detailed description, the preferred alternatives of the inventive surface protection and colouring system are described only for a better understanding of the subject matter and without any limiting effect.

[0032] Figure 1 shows a schematic diagram of the inventive surface protection and colouring system. Accordingly, the surface protection and colouring system is in its most basic form; raw slab and stock area (10) for the storage of raw or polished block or sizedslab ST, or dimensioned marble or its derivatives, washing unit (20) for the cleaning of marble or its derivatives stored in the raw slab and stock area (10) by washing with pressurised water, drying oven (30) for drying the treated marble or derivatives thereof, dye pool (40) for dyeing the marble or derivatives thereof dried in the drying oven (30) with chemical dye mixture, netting line (50) for netting the back surface of the marble or derivatives thereof whose colour is fixed by dyeing in the drying oven (30) with epoxy polyester and glue, polishing line (60) for polishing or honing the front surface of the marble or its derivatives, which are polished or honed in the netting line (50), sizing line (70) for sizing and packaging the marble or its derivatives, which are polished or honed in the polishing line (60), The surface protection application line (80), which provides surface protection treatment with a chemical mixture after the marble or its derivatives, which are honed in the polishing line (60) and sized in the sizing line (70), are dried in the drying oven (30) in order to make them suitable for outdoor use, and the finished product stock area (90), which provides the storage of the marble and its derivatives after colouring and surface protection treatment.

The washing unit (20) ensures that the marble or its derivatives are washed with water at a pressure between 30-200 bar.

Said drying oven (30) has a multi-storey or tunnel structure. In the drying oven (30), the water and moisture accumulated in the marble or its derivatives are removed by heating at certain degrees according to the suitability of the mineral structures of the marble or its derivatives and heated to the desired degree and at the same time, the chemical dye used in the colouring process of the marble or its derivatives is provided to move quickly and easily to the root cells.

The chemical dye mixture used in the dye pool can be solvent-based or water-based or oil-based or food-based.

[0040] In order to ensure colour fixation and colour permanence in the marble or derivatives coloured in the dye pool (40), the marble or derivatives coloured in the dye pool (40) are taken back to the drying oven (30) and subjected to drying for a certain period of time.

Marble or derivatives to be used outdoors are honed in the polishing line (60).

However, in order to make the marble or its derivatives suitable for outdoor use, surface protection is required. Accordingly, the surface protection and colouring system includes at least one surface protection application line (80). The said surface protection application line (80) is a closed (tunnel) system with two or four imported spray guns, barrel (travelling) and walking belt. The surface protection application line (80) is a fully automatic system operating with PLC, encoder, switch, digital metre and spraying a pre-prepared chemical raw material in the warehouse evenly with air on the surface of marble or its derivatives and coating it with a chemical mixture. The content of the chemical mixture consists of acrylic-based varnish with a minimum hardness of 2K and a maximum of 16K, hardener, acrylic thinner, solvent-based or water-based ceramic.

[0044] Thanks to the surface protection process applied in the surface protection application line (80), marble or its derivatives, which fade naturally outdoors, can be used outdoors by forming a steel armour on the surface. Thus, fading of the surface and colours of marble or its derivatives against UV rays, rain, snow, hail, hail, blizzards and sand storms to which marble or its derivatives are exposed outdoors is prevented and the usage area of marble or its derivatives is expanded by using them in areas such as exterior facade cladding, pool interiors, hot spring pools, thermal pools, baths, saunas, spas.

[0050] e) the back of the marble or its derivatives, whose colour has been fixed by painting in the drying oven (30), is netted with epoxy polyester and glue in the netting line (50), f) Polishing or honing of the front surface of the marble or its derivatives, polished in the polishing line (60),

Claims

CLAIMS1. Surface protection and colouring system used for surface colouring and coating of marble and marble derivatives, characterised by;- stock area for the storage of raw or polished block or sized slab block or dimensioned marble or its derivatives (10),- washing unit (20) for cleaning marble or its derivatives stored in the raw slab and stock area (10) by washing with pressurised water,- drying oven for drying marble or its derivatives (30),- dye pool (40) for chemical dye mixture dyeing of marble or its derivatives dried in the drying oven (30),- netting line (50) for netting the back surface of marble or its derivatives, whose colour is fixed by painting in the drying oven (30), with epoxy polyester and glue,- polishing line (60) for polishing or honing the front surface of the marble or its derivatives that are being polished or honed in the filing line (50),- sizing line (70), which ensures that marble or its derivatives, which are polished or honed in the polishing line (60), are sized and packaged in desired dimensions,- a finished product storage area (90) for storing marble and its derivatives after colouring and surface protection.

A surface protection and colouring system according to request 1 , characterised in that it comprises a surface protection application line (80) for performing surface protection treatment with a chemical mixture after drying in a drying oven (30) in order to make the marble or its derivatives, which are honed in said polishing line (60) and sized in said sizing line (70), suitable for outdoor use.

3. A surface protection and colouring system according to request 1, characterised in that said drying oven (30) has a multi-storey or tunnel structure.

A surface protection and colouring system according to request 1, characterised in that said dye pool (40) is of a structure which enables the marble or its derivatives to be dyed with a chemical dye mixture of the desired colour by impregnation system (compressed air) or vacuum system or immersion dyeing method.

Surface protection and colouring method used for surface colouring and coating of marble and marble derivatives, characterised in thata) washing with pressurised water in the washing unit (20) to remove mud and dirt from raw or polished marble or derivatives stored in the raw slab and stock area (10),b) drying of marble or its derivatives washed and cleaned in the washing unit (20) and drying of marble or its derivatives washed in the washing unit (20) in the drying oven (30) in order to make them free from water and moisture and to open the crystal pores,c) dyeing of marble or its derivatives dried in the drying oven (30) in the desired colour with the chemical dye mixture in the dye pool (40),d) drying marble or derivatives coloured in the dye pool (40) in the drying oven (30) to ensure colour fixation and colour permanence,e) back surface of marble or its derivatives, whose colour is fixed by dyeing in the drying oven (30), is netted with epoxy polyester and glue in the netting line (50),f) polishing or honing of the front surface of the marble or derivatives polished in the polishing line (60) of the marble or derivatives polished in the filtering line (50),g) packaging of marble or its derivatives, which are polished or honed in the polishing line (60), in the sizing line (70) by sizing them to the desired dimensions and storing them in the finished product stock area (90), process steps.

A surface protection and colouring method according to request 5, characterised in that the marble or derivatives thereof sized on the sizing line (70) in said process step (g)h) surface protection process by spraying chemical coating mixture on the surface protection application line (80) after drying in the drying oven (30) to make it suitable for outdoor use,i) drying the marble or derivatives coming out of the surface protection application line (80) by taking them back to the drying oven (30) and shocking them with cold air at the exit of the drying oven (30) and making pos felt to remove the dust on them,j) packaging of marble or its derivatives, which are shocked with cold air at the exit of the drying oven (30) and made into pos felt, and storage in the finished product stock area (90) comprising the process steps.

7. A surface protection and colouring method according to request 5, characterised in that said chemical dye mixture of said process step (c) is solvent-based, water-based, oil-based or food-based.

A surface protection and colouring method according to request 7, characterised in that said solvent-based chemical paint mixture comprises a dyestuff with a pH value of minimum 6 and maximum 10, a pigment with a pH value of minimum 6 and maximum 10, a paste with a pH value of minimum 6 and maximum 10, acetone, acrylic thinner, mag, cellulosic thinner as thinning raw materials, and one-component acrylic, one-component acrylic hardener, acrylic and solvent-based resin as binder resin.

9. A surface protection and colouring method according to request 7, characterised in that said solvent-based chemical paint mixture has a minimum density of 0.04 micron and a maximum density of 0.7 micron.

A surface protection and colouring method according to request 7, characterised in that said water-based chemical paint mixture comprises a dyestuff having a pH value of minimum 6 and maximum 10, a pigment having a pH value of minimum 6 and maximum 10, a paste having a pH value of minimum 6 and maximum 10, water as a thinning raw material, tinuwin, absorber, max as a binder resin.11 . A surface protection and colouring method according to request 7, characterised in that said water-based paint mixture density is minimum 0.04 micron and maximum 0.7 micron.

12. A surface protection and colouring method according to request 7, characterised in that said oil-based chemical paint mixture comprises synthetic or semi-synthetic oil, dyestuff, pigment, solvent-based paint, nitrogen as a thinning raw material.

13. A surface protection and colouring method according to request 7, characterised in that said oil-based paint has a minimum density of 0.04 microns and a maximum density of 3 microns.

14. A surface protection and colouring method in accordance with request 7, characterised in that said food-based paint mixture content comprises food coloring and water as a thinning raw material.

15. A surface protection and colouring method according to request 7, characterised in that said food-based dye has a minimum density of 0.04 microns and a maximum density of 0.7 microns.

16. A surface protection and colouring method according to request 6, characterised in that said hardness value is minimum 2K and maximum 16K acrylic based varnish, hardener, acrylic thinner, solvent based or water based ceramic.
