Embodiment Construction

[0035] All figures are for illustration purposes and are not necessarily drawn to scale in a level of detail that would enable one of ordinary skill in the art to practice the invention, while other details have been left out for the sake of clarity. Throughout the drawings, the same reference numerals are used to designate the same or similar parts.

[0036]Firstly, reference is made to FIG. 1 , which depicts a part of spectacles 1 , said part basically comprising a lens 2 , a hinge 5 and part of the front part 4 of the spectacle frame, and part of the temple 7 . The whole glasses 1 generally include a bracket 3 and a lens 2 . The support is composed of the front part 4 of the mirror frame, the mirror legs 7 and the hinge 5. The entire spectacles are not depicted in full detail in the drawings, nor are all detailed descriptions given, since it is believed that implementation of the spectacles described above is within the capabilities of a person of ordinary skill in the art...

Abstract

An eyeglass frame comprises a frame front, a pair of temple bars and a hinge for each temple bar to provide a pivotal connection. The hinge comprises a coil winding of a resilient wire integral with the temple bar and a body with a threaded groove integral with the other one of the frame front or temple bar. The body comprises friction material and the coil is adapted for cooperating and pretensioned engagement with the body in order to provide a pivotal connection with a controlled friction resistance to turning of the pivot. The invention also provides a hinge, an eyeglass and a method of manufacturing a hinge.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to spectacle frames, hinges for connecting spectacle arms to spectacle frames, spectacles, and methods of manufacturing hinges for connecting spectacle legs to spectacle frames. In particular, the invention relates to spectacle frames comprising hinges mounted on friction elements. Background technique [0002] The term spectacles as used herein refers to a known accessory consisting essentially of two lenses of glass, or lenses of other refractive, colored or transparent material, which are to be worn in front of the user's eyes to obtain a correct or dimmed view through the glass. vision. It also relates to spectacle frames that are configured to hold lenses or glasses conveniently in an optimal position for use where the user can look directly forward with both eyes and have parallel lines of sight through the lenses. [0003] It is already known to provide spectacle frames having a frame front for holding spectacle l...
