Each MP3 player comprises a microprocessor, a clock circuit, a power supply module, a key module, a speech signal output module and an MP3 display screen. The tour guide system is characterized in that the microprocessor is connected with a wireless radio-frequency identification module and a memory unit which stores illustration information of the scenic spots in various languages. The invention additionally provides a tour guide method, which comprises the following steps of: a) setting the electronic tags; b) making scenic spot illustration data; c) copying the scenic spot illustration data into the MP3 players; d) reading electronic tag number; e) searching for the scenic spot illumination data; and f) playing the scenic spot illustration data. The tour guide system and the tour guide method provided by the invention have the advantages that the effect of finding out corresponding scenic illustration data according to the number of the electronic tags through the MP3 players is realized, the effect of guiding foreign tourists is realized, the tour guide cost of the existing scenic spots is reduced and the sightseeing enthusiasm of tourists is aroused.
