Embodiment Construction

[0031] The following examples are exemplary. Although the specification may refer to "a", "an" or "some" embodiments in several places, this does not necessarily mean that each such reference is to the same embodiment(s) or that the feature is only applicable to a single implementation example. Single features of different embodiments may also be combined to provide other embodiments. Example embodiments will now be described more fully with reference to the accompanying drawings in which some, but not all embodiments are shown. Indeed, the invention may be embodied in many different forms and should not be construed as limited to the embodiments set forth herein; rather, these embodiments are provided so that this disclosure will satisfy applicable legal requirements. Although the specification may refer to "a", "an" or "some" embodiments in several places, this does not necessarily mean that each such reference is to the same embodiment(s) or that the feature is only appli...

Abstract

There is provided connecting to a group of interconnected wireless relay nodes comprising a first set connected to a first network over a first wireless connection, and a second set connected to a second network over a second wireless connection, configuring at least one of the first and the second sets of wireless relay nodes with resources for both the first and the second network and providing user equipment of the second network with wireless access via said first set of wireless relay nodes to the interconnected second set of wireless relay nodes and further over the second wireless connection to the second network.

Description

technical field [0001] The exemplary and non-limiting embodiments of the present invention relate generally to relaying in a communication network. Background technique [0002] The 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) is standardizing an architecture called Long Term Evolution (LTE) of the Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS) radio access technology. The aim is to achieve, inter alia, reduced latency, higher user data rates, improved system capacity and coverage, and reduced operator costs. A further development of LTE is referred to herein as LTE-Advanced. The aim of LTE-Advanced is to provide further enhanced services with higher data rates and lower latencies even at reduced costs. The various stages of development of the 3GPP LTE specifications are called releases. [0003] Since new spectrum bands for International Mobile Telecommunications (IMT) contain higher frequency bands and LTE-Advanced aims at higher data rates, it may be limited to one Nod...
