The method comprises the following steps of detecting information of a target user identity identification card which is inserted into a mobile terminal and determining whether the target user identity identification card is included in at least one user identity identification card prestored by the mobile terminal; if the target user identity identification card is not included in at least one user identity identification card prestored by the mobile terminal, determining all the network types supported by the target user identity identification card according to the type of the target user identity identification card, determining network identifications of public land mobile networks PLMN of all the network types and adding the network identifications of the PLMNs of all the network types into an equivalent home network EHPLMN list; when the mobile terminal arrives at a visiting place from a specific location and begins to search a network, if a target PLMN which matches with the network identification in the EHPLMN list is searched, establishing communication connection between the mobile terminal and the target PLMN. Through implementing the embodiment of the invention, time for the mobile terminal to connect the public land mobile network can be reduced so that a user communication experience of the mobile terminal is greatly increased.
