Abstract

The invention aims at providing a method and device for data backup in a dual-computer system environment. Compared with the prior art, the method comprises the steps that firstly, total data to be backuped in a target disk is sent to a backup storage device through a host computer, then write operation of the host computer or a slave computer to the target disk is obtained, to-be-backuped increment data corresponding to the write operation is sent to the backup storage device, and accordingly continuous protection is achieved in the process of shifting from the host computer to the slave computer without interrupting protection to the data in the target disk. In addition, when a network transmission failure occurs, the to-be-backuped increment data is marked, the marked to-be-backuped increment data is forwarded to a disk drive, sending of the marked to-be-backuped increment data to the backup storage device continues after network transmission is restored, and accordingly the reliability is improved.
