[0032] [Chemistry 3]

In the formula (1), there is one vinylbenzyloxy group, and according to the two R 2 The compound may be a hydroxyl group or a vinylbenzyloxy group, and the number of the vinylbenzyloxy groups present is 1, 2 or 3 based on the total number.
[0036] By controlling the reaction conditions described below, the ratio of the hydroxyl groups of the phosphorus-containing phenol compound as the raw material to be converted into vinylbenzyloxy groups can be adjusted, and the ratio of R in the phosphorus-containing vinylbenzyl ether compound obtained can be adjusted. 2 For example, if the amount of vinylbenzyl halide used is increased relative to the phosphorus-containing phenol compound as a raw material, the ratio of the vinylbenzyloxy group increases.
[0037] Regarding the two R in formula (1) 2 , preferably at least one is a vinylbenzyloxy group, especially in the phosphorus-containing vinylbenzyl ether compound of formula (1), the two R 2 The content of the component consisting entirely of vinylbenzyloxy groups (compound having 3 vinylbenzyloxy groups) is preferably 0.5% by mass or more, more preferably 5% by mass or more.
[0038] The phosphorus-containing vinylbenzyl ether compound represented by the formula (1) is obtained by reacting the phosphorus-containing phenol compound represented by the formula (3) and / or the formula (4) with a vinylbenzyl halide.
[0039] The phosphorus-containing phenol compound represented by formula (4) has a phosphorus-containing heterocyclic ring and can be obtained by the reaction method described in Japanese Patent Laid-Open Nos. 60-126293, 61-236787, and 05-331179.
[0040] Specific examples of the phosphorus-containing phenolic compound represented by formula (4) include 10-(2,5-dihydroxyphenyl)-10H-9-oxa-10-phosphaphenanthrene-10-oxide (e.g., HCA-HQ, manufactured by Sanko Chemical Co., Ltd.), 10-(2,7-dihydroxynaphthyl)-10H-9-oxa-10-phosphaphenanthrene-10-oxide (e.g., HCA-NQ, manufactured by Sanko Chemical Co., Ltd.), 8-benzyl-10-(2,5-dihydroxyphenyl)-10H-9-oxa-10-phosphaphenanthrene-10-oxide, and 8-benzyl-10-(2,7-dihydroxynaphthyl)-10H-9-oxa-10-phosphaphenanthrene-10-oxide.
[0041] Furthermore, by subjecting the phosphorus-containing phenolic compounds represented by the formula (4) to an addition reaction of water, the phosphorus-containing heterocyclic ring is opened to obtain phosphorus-containing phenolic compounds represented by the formula (3) corresponding to the compounds of the formula (4).
[0042] These phosphorus-containing phenol compounds may be used alone or in combination of two or more, and are not limited thereto.
[0043] Examples of the vinylbenzyl halide used in the present invention include p-vinylbenzyl chloride, m-vinylbenzyl chloride, p-vinylbenzyl bromide, and m-vinylbenzyl bromide, but are not limited thereto and may be used alone or in combination of two or more. Examples of commercially available products include CMS-14 (p-vinylbenzyl chloride, manufactured by AGC Seimichemical Co., Ltd.), CMS-P (a mixture of p-vinylbenzyl chloride and m-vinylbenzyl chloride, manufactured by AGC Seimichemical Co., Ltd.).
[0044] The reaction of a phosphorus-containing phenol compound and a vinylbenzyl halide is a reaction of a polyphenol and a vinylbenzyl halide, and can be carried out according to a known method. For example, there is a method in which an alkali metal hydroxide is added or dropped in batches to a phosphorus-containing phenol compound and a vinylbenzyl halide in an appropriate solvent and reacted, and the generated metal halide is separated by filtration or washing with water. Alternatively, there is also a method in which a phosphorus-containing phenol compound and an alkali metal hydroxide are prepared, and vinylbenzyl halide is added or dropped in batches to react, and the generated metal halide is separated by filtration or washing with water.
[0045] Regarding the mixing ratio of the phosphorus-containing phenol compound and the vinylbenzyl halide, the vinylbenzyl halide is 2.0 mol to 4.0 mol, preferably 2.2 mol to 3.8 mol, and more preferably 2.5 mol to 3.5 mol, relative to 1 mol of the phosphorus-containing phenol compound. If the vinylbenzyl halide is less than 2.0 mol relative to 1 mol of the phosphorus-containing phenol compound, a polyfunctional compound having three vinyl groups can hardly be obtained. In addition, if it exceeds 4.0 mol, the remaining amount of unreacted vinylbenzyl halide increases, or the polymer of the side reaction is excessive.
[0046] The solvent used in the reaction is not particularly limited, and examples thereof include hydrocarbons such as hexane, heptane, octane, decane, dimethylbutane, pentene, cyclohexane, methylcyclohexane, benzene, toluene, xylene, and ethylbenzene; or alcohols such as methanol, ethanol, propanol, butanol, amyl alcohol, amyl alcohol, hexanol, methyl amyl alcohol, heptanol, cyclohexanol, benzyl alcohol, and furfuryl alcohol; or ethyl ether, isopropyl ether, butyl ether, diisoamyl ether, methyl phenyl ether, ethyl phenyl ether, amyl phenyl ether, ethyl benzyl ether, dioxane, methyl furan, and the like. The solvent may be methyl ether, ...
[0047] In this specification, the so-called alkaline compound refers to a compound that reacts with the halogen of the raw material vinylbenzyl halide to promote the reaction with the phosphorus-containing phenol compound, and is shown as: alkali metal hydroxides such as lithium hydroxide, sodium hydroxide, potassium hydroxide, or alkaline earth metal hydroxides such as calcium hydroxide and magnesium hydroxide, or alkali metal carbonates such as sodium carbonate and potassium carbonate. Among them, alkali metal hydroxides are preferred. In addition, it can be used alone or in combination of two or more. In addition, it can be used in solid form or in the form of a solution such as an aqueous solution, preferably an aqueous solution. Relative to 1 mol of vinylbenzyl halide, the amount of the alkaline compound used is 0.5 mol to 5.0 mol, preferably 1 mol to 3 mol, and more preferably 1.2 mol to 2 mol. When the amount of the alkaline compound used is less than 0.5 mol, the reaction does not proceed fully. On the other hand, if it exceeds 5.0 mol, a large amount of acid required for neutralization is required, which is not preferred in terms of economy.
[0048] In the reaction, catalyst can also be used as needed. As the catalyst used, for example, tertiary amines such as benzyldimethylamine, or quaternary ammonium salts such as tetramethylammonium chloride and tetramethylammonium bromide, or phosphines such as triphenylphosphine and tri(2,6-dimethoxyphenyl)phosphine, or phosphonium salts such as benzyltriphenylphosphonium chloride, tetrabutylphosphonium bromide, ethyltriphenylphosphonium bromide, tetrabutylphosphonium iodide, or various catalysts such as imidazoles such as 2-methylimidazole and 2-ethyl-4-methylimidazole, are not limited to these, can be used alone, and can also be used in combination of two or more.Relative to 100 mass parts of raw materials, the usage amount of the catalyst is less than 10 mass parts, preferably less than 5 mass parts.
[0049] The reaction temperature is preferably 30°C to 150°C, more preferably 50°C to 90°C. If the reaction temperature is high, polymerization is carried out by the reaction of the vinyl group. If the reaction temperature is too low, the reaction does not proceed and the efficiency is poor. Various chromatography methods or infrared spectroscopy (IR), ultraviolet spectroscopy (UV), etc. can be used to track the reaction. For example, the end point can be determined by measuring the residual amount of the vinylbenzyl halide of the raw material or the peak of the functional group related to the reaction.
[0050] In the production method of the present invention, depending on whether the phosphorus-containing phenol compound represented by the formula (4) is used as a raw material or the reaction conditions, a phosphorus-containing vinyl benzyl ether compound represented by the following formula (6) may be produced as a by-product.
[0051] [Chemistry 4]
[0052]
[0053] In formula (6), R 1, R 2 and X are respectively the same as R of the formula (1) 1 , R 2 and X have the same meaning.
[0054] In the production method of the present invention, the phosphorus compound represented by the following formula (7) and / or formula (8) may be reacted with quinones to obtain the phosphorus-containing phenol compound represented by the above formula (3) and / or formula (4), and then the compound may be reacted with a vinylbenzyl halide without separation and purification. In this case, the reaction product of the residual raw material phosphorus compound and the vinylbenzyl halide may be produced as a by-product.
[0055] [Chemistry 5]
[0056]
[0057] In formula (7) and formula (8), R 1 R of the formula (1) 1 For the same meaning.
[0058] In the reaction product obtained by the manufacturing method of the present invention, there is a case where the compound represented by the formula (6) is also produced as a by-product together with the phosphorus-containing vinyl benzyl ether compound represented by the formula (1) of the present invention. As long as the effect of the present invention is not hindered, the mixture containing these by-products can also be used. In this case, the content of the by-product is less than 30% by mass, more preferably less than 20% by mass. The reaction product can also be refined by distillation, etc., so as to separate and remove these by-products.
[0059] The obtained phosphorus-containing vinyl benzyl ether compound has free radical polymerizability, so it can be polymerized by light irradiation or heating to obtain a cured product. As shown in formula (1) and formula (2), R 2 The polymerization inhibitor may be vinylbenzyloxy or hydroxyl, and the hydroxyl group may be used for curing. In addition, a polymerization inhibitor may be added in advance during storage. Examples of the polymerization inhibitor include quinones, hydroquinones, phenols, various copper salts, amidines, hydrazines, and the like. More specifically, toluenequinone, hydroquinone, copper naphthenate, hydrazine hydrochloride, and the like are exemplified, but are not limited to these, and may be used alone or in combination of two or more.
[0060] In the curable resin composition containing the phosphorus-containing vinyl benzyl ether compound as an essential component, a radical polymerization initiator may be used as necessary. Examples of the usable radical polymerization initiator include methyl ethyl ketone peroxide, cyclohexanone peroxide, methyl acetate peroxide, acetylacetone peroxide, cumene hydroperoxide, benzoyl peroxide, tert-butyl peroxybenzoate, etc., but are not limited to these, and may be used alone or in combination of two or more.
[0061] In the resin composition of the present invention, various other curable resins or thermoplastic resins can be formulated. As the curable resin, for example, epoxy resin, vinyl benzyl ether compound other than the present invention, polyester resin, etc. can be listed, and as the thermoplastic resin, polyethylene, polypropylene, acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS) resin, polystyrene, methacrylic resin, polycarbonate, polyphenylene ether, polyphenylene sulfide, etc. can be listed, but they are not limited to these, and can be used alone or in combination of two or more. In the curable resin composition in which the phosphorus-containing vinyl benzyl ether compound represented by formula (1) is an essential component, when such other resins are used in combination, the main purpose of the phosphorus-containing vinyl benzyl ether compound represented by formula (1) is to impart flame retardancy, and therefore, relative to 100 parts by mass of the phosphorus-containing vinyl benzyl ether compound represented by formula (1), it is sufficient to use other resins in an amount less than 1900 parts by mass. In other words, when the phosphorus-containing vinyl benzyl ether compound of the present invention is used as a flame retardant in a resin composition containing an epoxy resin or the like as a main component, it only needs to be blended in an amount of 5% by mass or more in the composition (solid content).
[0062] In addition, various fillers can be mixed in the resin composition of the present invention as needed. Examples of fillers include aluminum hydroxide, magnesium hydroxide, talc, calcined talc, clay, kaolin, titanium oxide, glass powder, silica balloons, glass fibers, pulp fibers, synthetic fibers, ceramic fibers, etc., but are not limited to these and can be used alone or in combination of two or more. Pigments can also be mixed.
[0063] The properties of the composition of the present invention were evaluated. As a result, it was found that a cured product of the resin composition containing a phosphorus-containing vinyl benzyl ether compound obtained by reacting a phosphorus-containing phenol compound with a vinyl benzyl halide as an essential component has flame retardancy without containing a halide, does not dissociate the halogen at high temperatures, exhibits a low dielectric constant of 3.2 or less, a low dielectric loss tangent of 0.006 or less, and is also excellent in heat resistance.

At 75°C, while paying attention to heat generation, 392 parts of a 49% sodium hydroxide aqueous solution as an alkali metal (3.0 mol per 1 mol of the vinyl benzyl halide) were added dropwise over 5 hours. After the addition was completed, the reaction temperature was maintained at 75°C, while the residual amount of the vinyl benzyl halide was tracked by gas chromatography, and the reaction was continued until the reaction was fully reacted. Thereafter, the pressure was reduced and the solvent and water were recovered. 870 parts of toluene were added for dilution. 160 parts of ion exchange water were added, and the pH was neutralized with 35% hydrochloric acid until the pH value was 5-6. The water layer was separated and removed while standing. Repeat the washing with water for 3 to 5 times, and separate and remove the water layer. Reduce pressure at 75°C and reflux for dehydration. Filter and then recover the solvent. The phosphorus-containing vinyl benzyl ether compound (resin 1) obtained is a dark brown solid. The GPC chart of resin 1 is shown in Figure 1 In the example, IR is shown in Figure 2 As a result of FD-MS analysis, 508.2 as a monofunctional vinyl resin, 624.3 as a difunctional vinyl resin, and 740.2 as a trifunctional vinyl resin were confirmed, and the average number of vinylbenzyloxy groups was 2.0. The phosphorus content was 4.1%.

[0087] The obtained resin composition varnish is impregnated in glass cloth (manufactured by Nitto Bosho Co., Ltd., WEA7628XS13, 0.18 mm thick), and then heated at 130°C for 5 minutes, thereby drying to obtain a prepreg. Copper foil (manufactured by Mitsui Mining and Smelting Co., Ltd., HS1-M2-VSP, thickness 35 μm, Rz: 1.2 μm) is overlapped on the upper and lower sides of 8 sheets of the obtained prepreg, and vacuum pressing of 2 MPa is performed under the temperature conditions of 130°C for 130 minutes + 210°C for 180 minutes to obtain a 1.6 mm thick laminate. Both sides of the obtained laminate are etched to obtain a test piece for flame retardancy measurement. The glass transition temperature and flame retardancy results of the laminate are shown in Table 1.
[0088] In addition, the obtained prepreg was loosened and made into a powdered prepreg powder that passed 100 meshes using a sieve. At 75°C, 202 parts of a 50% potassium hydroxide aqueous solution as an alkali metal (1.2 mol per 1 mol of vinyl benzyl halide) were added dropwise while paying attention to heat generation. While the reaction temperature was maintained at 65°C to 75°C, 229 parts of CMS-14 as a vinyl benzyl halide (3.0 mol per 1 mol of the phosphorus-containing phenol compound) were added over 3 hours. After the addition was completed, the reaction temperature was maintained at 75°C, and the residual amount of vinyl benzyl halide was tracked by gas chromatography, and the reaction was continued until the reaction was fully reacted. Thereafter, the pressure was reduced and the solvent and water were recovered. 785 parts of toluene were added for dilution. 160 parts of ion exchange water were added, and the pH was neutralized with 35% hydrochloric acid until the pH value was 5 to 6. Allow to stand and separate the water layer. Repeat 3 to 5 times of water washing and separation of the water layer. Reduce pressure at 75°C and perform reflux dehydration. Filter and then recover the solvent. The phosphorus-containing vinyl benzyl ether compound (resin 2) obtained is a light yellow semi-solid substance. As for the results of FD-MS analysis, 458.2 as a monofunctional vinyl resin, 574.2 as a difunctional vinyl resin, and 690.2 as a trifunctional vinyl resin were confirmed, and the average number of vinyl benzyloxy groups was 1.9. While paying attention to the heat generated at 75°C, 205 parts of a 49% aqueous sodium hydroxide solution as an alkali metal (2.0 mol per 1 mol of the vinyl benzyl halide) were added dropwise over 5 hours. After the addition was completed, the reaction temperature was maintained at 75°C, and the amount of the remaining vinyl benzyl halide was monitored by gas chromatography, and the reaction was continued until the reaction was fully reacted. Thereafter, the pressure was reduced and the solvent and water were recovered. Add 830 parts of toluene for dilution. Add 160 parts of ion exchange water and neutralize with 35% hydrochloric acid until the pH value is 5-6. Let stand and separate the water layer. Repeat 3 to 5 times of water washing and separation and removal of the water layer. Reduce pressure at 75°C and reflux dehydration. Filter and then recover the solvent.
