Examples

Embodiment I

[0032] Chicken embryo phospholipids

[0033] In this example, chicken embryo phospholipids were processed as described above. The processed phospholipid extract is then mixed with the other ingredients and blended together. Capsules are prepared by pouring the mixture into capsule molds and allowing the mixture to solidify, as is known in the art. The capsules are released from the mold by a release agent, such as wax, tallow, or a membrane. The specified amounts of each of the above components will produce sufficient composition to make about 1000 film-coated tablets.

Embodiment II

[0036] The phospholipid extract prepared by the method described above can be used in this example. The first six ingredients listed above were mixed and blended together, and then equal amounts of carrier ethanol and purified water were added to prepare a total of 1000 ml of a solution. Peppermint flavored oil is the preferred flavored elixir; however, other flavorings may be substituted or omitted at all. Liquid compositions are prepared by intimately mixing the ingredients together, as known in the art, and dispensed in a dosage of from about 2ml to about 10ml, preferably from about 3ml to about 6ml.

[0037] Note that no amino acids were used in this example. However, the amount of antioxidants relative to phospholipids is adjusted to maintain a proper balance between the two components.

Embodiment III

[0039] Oral spray aerosol of chicken embryo phospholipid

[0040] embryonic phospholipids

[0041] The above examples are for the mechanism of intraoral spray formulation (dosage), a spray for the oral cavity. Amino acids were also not used in this example, as in Example II. Here, removal of the amino acid maintains the sprayable liquid consistency of the mix composition. Further, as in Example II, other flavoring agents can be substituted for the peppermint flavor oil, or simply omitted. The resulting composition is then poured into dispensable metered dose spray containers, as known in the art. Each measured dose is from about 2 ml to about 10 ml solution, preferably from about 3 ml to about 6 ml solution per dose.

Abstract

There is provided a composition for the prevention and treatment of age-related physical and mental disorders that includes phospholipids that have been extracted from chick embryos aged between about 6 days old and about 14 days old. Also provided is a method for extracting these phospholipids by incubating them for between about 6 days to about 14 days. The chick embryos are then prepared for chemical extraction, and the lipids are extracted from the chick embryos. Further provided is a method for preventing and treating age-related physical and mental disorders, in human subjects in need thereof, by administering a sufficient dosage of a composition including phospholipids extracted from chick embryos incubated for between about 6 days and about 14 days to a human subject.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to compositions and methods for the prevention and treatment of age-related diseases. In particular, the present invention relates to compositions and methods for the treatment of age-related diseases using phospholipids extracted from chicken embryos between about 6 and 14 days of age and formulated for oral or sublingual administration. Background technique [0002] The symptoms of aging affect the human body both physically and mentally. Aging of cells and tissues can affect a person's strength, energy and agility. Aging of various cells and tissues can lead to a decreased sense of well-being, fatigue, delayed physical and mental recovery, cognitive decline and insomnia. Further physical effects include skin aging, wrinkling and discoloration, hair loss, decreased stamina and tolerance to physical and mental activities, and muscle fatigue. Neuroendocrine disturbances, such as sexual performance and decreased retentio...
