Benefits of technology

The present patent provides an improved apparatus for cooking or baking in conventional ovens by using a container that is placed in the oven to provide better conditions for preparing comestibles, such as baked goods. The container has a longitudinally and horizontally oriented interior space that allows for easy loading and unloading of the comestibles. During baking, the lid of the container can be disengaged to release gases from the interior space, and the baking can continue either with the container open or closed until the baked good has reached the desired temperature. This improves the cooking environment while avoiding the hazards of handling the super-heated container or the hazardous conditions present within the oven.

Problems solved by technology

However, present methods and apparatus require the user to load, manipulate, and unload baked goods and dough from above, through the top of the container.
Thus, present methods require that a user remove the container from the oven for loading and unloading of the contents prior to, during, and after baking is complete, and present difficult and dangerous conditions involving a super-heated container and gases during loading, manipulation, cooking, and unloading.
Furthermore, present methods and apparatus exhibit suboptimal retention of heat and gases during baking.
