[0159] Before the present invention is described in detail, it should be noted that similar elements are denoted by the same reference numerals in the following description.
[0160] See also Figure 1 and Figure 2 An embodiment of the connector 100 of the present invention is suitable for plugging two pluggable modules (not shown). The connector 100 includes a housing 1, two side support plates 2, a support frame 3 and a thin sheet assembly 4.
[0161] For the convenience of subsequent description, the connector 100 is defined as having a first horizontal direction D1, a second horizontal direction D2 perpendicular to the first horizontal direction D1, and a vertical direction D3 perpendicular to the first horizontal direction D1 and the second horizontal direction D2. In this embodiment, the first horizontal direction D1 is taken as an example of the front-to-back direction. Figure 1 The direction indicated by the arrow is forward, and the reverse direction is backward. The second horizontal direction D2 is taken as an example of the left-right direction. Figure 1 The direction indicated by the arrow is left, and the reverse direction is right. The vertical direction D3 takes the up and down direction as an example. Figure 1 The direction the arrow points to is up, and the opposite direction is down.
[0162] See also Figure 2 , Figure 3 , Figure 4 and Figure 5The housing 1 is made of an insulating material such as plastic, and is used for the pluggable module to be plugged in along a plugging direction I parallel to the first horizontal direction D1. The housing 1 includes a main housing 11, an upper protruding housing 12 protruding from the front end of the main housing 11 and extending along the plugging direction I, a lower protruding housing 13 protruding from the front end of the main housing 11 and extending along the plugging direction I and spaced below the upper protruding housing 12, and a stiffening frame 14. The main housing 11, the upper protruding housing 12, and the lower protruding housing 13 jointly define a chamber 15 for accommodating the thin-sheet assembly 4. The rear end of the chamber 15 and the bottom end of the chamber 15 are both open. The upper protruding housing 12 is formed with an upper port 121 that is connected to the chamber 15 and faces forward. The lower protruding housing 13 is formed with a lower port 131 that is connected to the chamber 15 and faces forward. The two pluggable modules can be plugged into the chamber 15 via the upper port 121 and the lower port 131, respectively. The stiffening frame 14 is integrally connected between the bottom end of the upper protruding housing 12 and the front end of the main housing 11 to support the upper protruding housing 12 to enhance the structural strength of the upper protruding housing 12. Thus, when the pluggable module is plugged into the chamber 15 via the upper port 121, the bending deformation of the upper protruding housing 12 can be reduced or even prevented.

The lower protruding shell 13 of the housing 1 has a third shell holding portion 132 and a fourth shell holding portion 133 located in the chamber 15. The fourth shell holding portion 133 is spaced above the third shell holding portion 132 along the vertical direction D3. The first shell holding portion 122, the second shell holding portion 123, the third shell holding portion 132 and the fourth shell holding portion 133 are used to hold the thin-sheet assembly 4 to prevent the thin-sheet assembly 4 from loosening relative to the housing 1 in the vertical direction D3, so that the thin-sheet assembly 4 can be firmly positioned in the chamber 15 of the housing 1.
[0165] In this embodiment, the first shell holding portion 122, the second shell holding portion 123, the third shell holding portion 132 and the fourth shell holding portion 133 are each a groove extending along the plugging direction I and communicating with the chamber 15. In addition, the upper protruding shell 12 of the housing 1 also has a first partition 124 located between the first shell holding portion 122 and the chamber 15, and a second partition 125 located between the second shell holding portion 123 and the chamber 15. The first partition 124 is located on the upper side of the first shell holding portion 122 along the vertical direction D3, and the second partition 125 is located on the lower side of the second shell holding portion 123 along the vertical direction D3. The lower protruding shell 13 of the housing 1 further comprises a third partition plate 134 located between the third shell holding portion 132 and the chamber 15, and a fourth partition plate 135 located between the fourth shell holding portion 133 and the chamber 15. The third partition plate 134 is located on the upper side of the third shell holding portion 132 along the vertical direction D3, and the fourth partition plate 135 is located on the lower side of the fourth shell holding portion 133 along the vertical direction D3.
[0166] See also Figure 2 , Figure 4 and Figure 5 The two side support plates 2 are respectively disposed on the two side walls 111 of the housing 1 and are adjacent to the bottom ends of the two side walls 111. The two side support plates 2 are respectively disposed on the opposite sides of the sheet assembly 4 to support the sheet assembly 4. The support frame 3 is disposed between the two side support plates 2 and at the bottom end of the sheet assembly 4 to support the sheet assembly 4.
[0167] See also Figure 3 , Figure 4 and Figure 5The thin-film assembly 4 includes a first thin-film body 41, a second thin-film body 43, a third thin-film body 45, a fourth thin-film body 47, a fifth thin-film body 49, a sixth thin-film body 51, a seventh thin-film body 53 and an eighth thin-film body 55. The first thin-film body 41, the second thin-film body 43, the third thin-film body 45 and the fourth thin-film body 47 are stacked and fixed on each other from bottom to top along the vertical direction D3. The first thin-film body 41, the second thin-film body 43, the third thin-film body 45 and the fourth thin-film body 47 are disposed between the two side support plates 2 and the support frame 3 and supported by the two side support plates 2 and the support frame 3. The first thin-film body 41, the second thin-film body 43, the third thin-film body 45 and the fourth thin-film body 47 correspond to the upper port 121 of the housing 1, and are used to electrically connect the corresponding pluggable module. The fifth sheet 49, the sixth sheet 51, the seventh sheet 53 and the eighth sheet 55 are stacked and held from bottom to top along the vertical direction D3. The fifth sheet 49, the sixth sheet 51, the seventh sheet 53 and the eighth sheet 55 correspond to the lower port 131 of the housing 1 and are used to electrically connect the corresponding pluggable module.
[0168] See also Figure 3 , Figure 8 and Fig. 9 The first thin sheet body 41 includes a plurality of terminals 410, a support frame 411 overmolded on the plurality of terminals 410, and a shielding member 412 partially covering the plurality of terminals 410. [0169] In addition, the first sheet holding portion 414 and the frame body 413 together form a Y-shape. The frame body 413 has an end section 415, and the end section 415 is spaced above the first sheet holding portion 414 along the vertical direction D3 and clamps the first partition 124 together with the first sheet holding portion 414. Thus, the support frame 411 can be prevented from moving up and down or rotating relative to the housing 1, so as to prevent the first sheet body 41 from becoming loose relative to the housing 1 in the vertical direction D3.
[0170] See also Fig.10 , the frame body 413 of the support frame 411 is formed with a plurality of positioning holes 416 arranged at intervals, and the shielding member 412 has a plurality of positioning posts 417 arranged at intervals, and the plurality of positioning posts 417 respectively engage and interfere with the plurality of positioning holes 416. In this way, the shielding member 412 can be prevented from shaking relative to the support frame 411, so that the shielding member 412 can be firmly positioned on the support frame 411. It should be noted that in another implementation of the present embodiment, the shielding member 412 may also be formed with a plurality of positioning holes, and the frame body 413 of the support frame 411 may have a plurality of positioning posts, which is not limited to the aforementioned manner. In addition, the shielding member 412 is formed with a plurality of retaining grooves 418 arranged at intervals.
[0171] See also Figure 2 , Figure 3 , Figure 8 and Fig.11 The second sheet body 43 includes a plurality of terminals 430, a support frame 431 overmolded on the plurality of terminals 430, and a shielding member 432 partially covering the plurality of terminals 430. Each of the terminals 430 is bent. The support frame 431 is made of an insulating material such as plastic and is stacked on the support frame 411 of the first sheet body 41. The left and right sides of the support frame 431 are buckled and locked by a corresponding pair of the buckling members 16. The support frame 431 has a first buckle 433. The first buckle 433 has two first hooks 434, which are arranged in opposite directions and spaced apart along the second horizontal direction D2. Each of the first hooks 434 has a wall portion 435, a first hook portion 436 formed at the top of the wall portion 435 and extending along the plugging direction I, and a stiffening wall portion 437 connected to the outer side of the wall portion 435 and the outer side of the first hook portion 436 and extending along the plugging direction I. Through the design of the stiffening wall portion 437, each of the first hooks 434 can enhance the structural strength of the first hook portion 436 to prevent the first hook portion 436 from being deformed due to force.
[0172] The support frame 431 is formed with a plurality of positioning holes 438 arranged at intervals, and the shielding member 432 has a plurality of positioning posts 439 arranged at intervals, and the plurality of positioning posts 439 respectively engage and interfere with the plurality of positioning holes 438. Thus, the shielding member 432 can be prevented from shaking relative to the support frame 431, so that the shielding member 432 can be firmly positioned on the support frame 431. It should be noted that in another implementation of this embodiment, the shielding member 432 may be formed with a plurality of positioning holes, and the support frame 431 may have a plurality of positioning posts, which is not limited to the aforementioned manner.
[0173] See also Fig.12 and Fig.13 , the shielding member 432 of the second thin sheet body 43 has a plurality of retaining blocks 440 arranged at intervals, and the plurality of retaining blocks 440 are respectively engaged with the plurality of retaining grooves 418 of the shielding member 412 of the first thin sheet body 41. As a result, the shielding member 432 of the second thin sheet body 43 can be firmly positioned on the shielding member 412 of the first thin sheet body 41, so that a better shielding effect can be obtained. Specifically, each of the retaining blocks 440 has a long block 441 and two engaging blocks 442. The long direction of the long block 441 is along the plug-in direction I (such as Figure 3 The two engaging blocks 442 are respectively protruded from the two long sides of the long block 441 and are respectively adjacent to the two short sides of the long block 441. Each of the holding blocks 440 is engaged with the corresponding holding groove 418 through the two engaging blocks 442. Therefore, in addition to enabling the holding block 440 to be firmly engaged with the corresponding holding groove 418, the effect of saving the material used to form the holding block 440 can also be achieved. It should be noted that in another implementation of the present embodiment, the shielding member 412 of the first thin sheet body 41 may also have a plurality of holding blocks, and the shielding member 432 of the second thin sheet body 43 may form a plurality of holding grooves for respectively engaging the plurality of holding blocks, and the method is not limited to the aforementioned method.
[0174] See also Figure 8 , Fig.14 , Fig.15 and Fig.16 The third sheet body 45 includes a plurality of terminals 450, a support frame 451 overmolded on the plurality of terminals 450, and a shielding member 452 partially covering the plurality of terminals 450. Each of the terminals 450 is bent. The support frame 451 is made of an insulating material such as plastic and is stacked on the support frame 431 of the second sheet body 43. The left and right sides of the support frame 451 are connected by a pair of corresponding buckling members 16 (such as Figure 2The support frame 451 has a second fastener 453 that is fastened to the first fastener 433 of the second sheet body 43. The second fastener 453 has a stiffening block 454, and two second hooks 455 that are respectively protruded on opposite sides of the stiffening block 454 and spaced apart along the second horizontal direction D2. Each of the second hooks 455 has an arm 456 that extends along the vertical direction D3, and a second hook 456 that is formed at the bottom end of the arm 456 and extends along the insertion direction I (as shown). Figure 3 The third sheet body 45 has a second hook 457 extending therefrom (as shown). The second hook 457 is buckled at the bottom end of the first hook 436 of the corresponding first hook 434. As a result, the contact positive force can be increased, so that the support frame 451 of the third sheet body 45 can be firmly positioned on the support frame 431 of the second sheet body 43. By connecting the stiffening block 454 between the plurality of second hooks 455, the structural strength of the plurality of second hooks 455 can be enhanced to prevent the second hooks 455 from being deformed by force. By making the number of the first hooks 434 of the first buckle 433 and the number of the second hooks 455 of the second buckle 453 two each, the contact area of the first buckle 433 and the second buckle 453 for buckling with each other is large, which can improve the stability of the buckle.
[0175] It should be noted that in another implementation of this embodiment, the number of the first hooks 434 of the first fastener 433 and the number of the second hooks 455 of the second fastener 453 can also be set to one each according to needs, and are not limited to the number disclosed in this embodiment.
[0176] See also Fig.14 , the support frame 451 is formed with a plurality of positioning holes 458 arranged at intervals, and the shielding member 452 has a plurality of positioning posts 459 arranged at intervals, and the plurality of positioning posts 459 respectively engage and interfere with the plurality of positioning holes 458. Thus, the shielding member 452 can be prevented from shaking relative to the support frame 451, so that the shielding member 452 can be firmly positioned on the support frame 451. It should be noted that in another implementation of this embodiment, the shielding member 452 may be formed with a plurality of positioning holes, and the support frame 451 may have a plurality of positioning posts, which is not limited to the aforementioned manner.
[0177] See also Figure 8 and Fig.17 The shielding member 452 of the third sheet body 45 has a plurality of holding blocks 460 arranged at intervals. Specifically, each holding block 460 has a long block 461 and two engaging blocks 462. The long direction of the long block 461 is along the insertion direction I (eg Figure 3The two engaging blocks 462 are respectively protruded from the two long sides of the long block 461 and are respectively adjacent to the two short sides of the long block 461. Thus, the effect of saving the material used to form the holding block 460 can be achieved.
[0178] See also Figure 3 and Figure 8 The fourth thin sheet body 47 includes a plurality of terminals 470, a support frame 471 overmolded on the plurality of terminals 470, and a shielding member 472 partially covering the plurality of terminals 470. Each of the terminals 470 is bent. The support frame 471 is made of an insulating material such as plastic. The support frame 471 has a frame body 473 molded on the plurality of terminals 470 and bent, and a second sheet retaining portion 474 disposed on the frame body 473. The second sheet retaining portion 474 is retained by the second shell retaining portion 123 of the housing 1. In the present embodiment, the second sheet retaining portion 474 is a protrusion convexly disposed on the outer surface of the frame body 473 and extending along the plugging direction I and engaging with the second shell retaining portion 123. Since both the second sheet holding portion 474 and the second shell holding portion 123 extend along the plugging direction I, the contact area between the second sheet holding portion 474 and the housing 1 in the plugging direction I can be increased, thereby improving the stability of the mutual engagement between the second sheet holding portion 474 and the second shell holding portion 123. It should be noted that in another implementation of this embodiment, at least one of the second shell holding portion 123 and the second sheet holding portion 474 may extend along the plugging direction I, and the method of both extending along the plugging direction I is not limited.
[0179] In addition, the second sheet holding portion 474 and the frame body 473 together form a Y-shape. The frame body 473 has an end section 475, and the end section 475 is spaced below the second sheet holding portion 474 along the vertical direction D3 and clamps the second partition 125 together with the second sheet holding portion 474. Thus, the support frame 471 can be prevented from moving up and down or rotating relative to the housing 1, so as to prevent the fourth sheet body 47 from becoming loose relative to the housing 1 in the vertical direction D3.
[0180] See also Fig.18 , the frame body 473 of the support frame 471 is formed with a plurality of positioning holes 476 arranged at intervals, and the shielding member 472 has a plurality of positioning posts 477 arranged at intervals, and the plurality of positioning posts 477 respectively engage with and interfere with the plurality of positioning holes 476. Thus, the shielding member 472 can be prevented from shaking relative to the support frame 471, so that the shielding member 472 can be firmly positioned on the support frame 471. It should be noted that in another implementation of this embodiment, the shielding member 472 may be formed with a plurality of positioning holes, and the frame body 473 of the support frame 471 may have a plurality of positioning posts, which is not limited to the aforementioned manner.
[0181] See also Figure 8 , Fig.18 and Fig.19 , the shielding member 472 is formed with a plurality of retaining grooves 478 arranged at intervals. The plurality of retaining grooves 478 are respectively engaged with the plurality of retaining blocks 460 of the third thin sheet 45. Each of the retaining blocks 460 is firmly engaged with the corresponding retaining groove 478 through two engaging blocks 462. Thus, the shielding member 472 of the fourth thin sheet 47 can be firmly positioned on the shielding member 452 of the third thin sheet 45, so that a better shielding effect can be obtained. It should be noted that, in another implementation of the present embodiment, the shielding member 472 of the fourth thin sheet 47 may also have a plurality of retaining blocks, and the shielding member 452 of the third thin sheet 45 may form a plurality of retaining grooves for respectively engaging with the plurality of retaining blocks, and the method is not limited to the aforementioned method.
[0182] See also Figure 2 and Figure 3 Although the two pairs of fastening members 16 of the housing 1 are used to fasten and lock the support frame 431 of the second sheet body 43 and the support frame 451 of the third sheet body 45, the two pairs of fastening members 16 can also be used to fasten and lock the support frame 411 of the first sheet body 41 and the support frame 471 of the fourth sheet body 47 according to needs, without being limited to the above-mentioned method.
[0183] See also Figure 3 , Fig. 20 and Fig.21 The fifth thin sheet body 49 includes a plurality of terminals 490, a support frame 491 overmolded on the plurality of terminals 490, and a shielding member 492 partially covering the plurality of terminals 490. The support frame 491 is made of an insulating material such as plastic. The support frame 491 has a frame body 493 molded on the plurality of terminals 490, and a third piece retaining portion 494 disposed on the frame body 493. The third piece retaining portion 494 is retained by the third shell retaining portion 132 of the housing 1. In the present embodiment, the third piece retaining portion 494 is a protrusion convexly disposed on the outer surface of the frame body 493 and extending along the plugging direction I and engaging with the third shell retaining portion 132. Since both the third sheet holding portion 494 and the third shell holding portion 132 extend along the plugging direction I, the contact area between the third sheet holding portion 494 and the housing 1 in the plugging direction I can be increased, thereby improving the stability of the mutual engagement between the third sheet holding portion 494 and the third shell holding portion 132. It should be noted that in another implementation of the present embodiment, at least one of the third shell holding portion 132 and the third sheet holding portion 494 may extend along the plugging direction I, and the method is not limited to that both extend along the plugging direction I.
[0184] In addition, the third sheet holding portion 494 and the frame 493 together form a Y-shape. The frame 493 has an end section 495, which is spaced above the third sheet holding portion 494 along the vertical direction D3 and clamps the third partition 134 together with the third sheet holding portion 494. Thus, the support frame 491 can be prevented from moving up and down or rotating relative to the housing 1, so as to prevent the fifth sheet body 49 from becoming loose relative to the housing 1 in the vertical direction D3.
[0185] See also Figure 3 and Fig. 20 The sixth sheet body 51 includes a plurality of terminals 510, a support frame 511 overmolded on the plurality of terminals 510, and a shielding member 512 partially covering the plurality of terminals 510. The support frame 511 is made of an insulating material such as plastic and is stacked on the support frame 491 of the fifth sheet body 49.
[0186] The seventh thin sheet body 53 includes a plurality of terminals 530, a support frame 531 overmolded on the plurality of terminals 530, and a shielding member 532 partially covering the plurality of terminals 530. Each of the terminals 530 is bent. The support frame 531 is made of an insulating material such as plastic and is stacked on the support frame 511 of the sixth thin sheet body 51. The shielding member 532 has a plurality of retaining blocks 533 arranged at intervals. Specifically, each of the retaining blocks 533 has a long block body 534 and two engaging blocks 535. The long direction of the long block body 534 is along the plug-in direction I (such as Figure 3 The two engaging blocks 535 are respectively protruded from the two long sides of the long block 534 and are respectively adjacent to the two short sides of the long block 534. Thus, the effect of saving the material used to form the holding block 533 can be achieved.
[0187] The eighth thin sheet body 55 includes a plurality of terminals 550, a support frame 551 overmolded on the plurality of terminals 550, and a shielding member 552 partially covering the plurality of terminals 550. Each of the terminals 550 is bent. The support frame 551 is made of an insulating material such as plastic. The support frame 551 has a frame body 553 molded on the plurality of terminals 550 and bent, and a fourth piece retaining portion 554 disposed on the frame body 553. The fourth piece retaining portion 554 is retained by the fourth shell retaining portion 133 of the housing 1. In the present embodiment, the fourth piece retaining portion 554 is a protrusion convexly disposed on the outer surface of the frame body 553 and extending along the plugging direction I and engaging with the fourth shell retaining portion 133. Since both the fourth sheet holding portion 554 and the fourth shell holding portion 133 extend along the plugging direction I, the contact area between the fourth sheet holding portion 554 and the housing 1 in the plugging direction I can be increased, thereby improving the stability of the mutual engagement between the fourth sheet holding portion 554 and the fourth shell holding portion 133. It should be noted that in another implementation of the present embodiment, at least one of the fourth shell holding portion 133 and the fourth sheet holding portion 554 may extend along the plugging direction I, and the method of both extending along the plugging direction I is not limited.
[0188] In addition, the fourth sheet holding portion 554 and the frame 553 together form a Y-shape. The frame 553 has an end section 555, which is spaced below the fourth sheet holding portion 554 along the vertical direction D3 and clamps the fourth partition plate 135 together with the fourth sheet holding portion 554. Thus, the support frame 551 can be prevented from moving up and down or rotating relative to the housing 1, so as to prevent the eighth sheet body 55 from becoming loose relative to the housing 1 in the vertical direction D3.
[0189] See also Fig. 20 and Fig. 22 , the shielding member 552 is formed with a plurality of holding grooves 556 arranged at intervals, and the plurality of holding grooves 556 are respectively engaged with the plurality of holding blocks 533 of the seventh thin sheet 53. Each of the holding blocks 533 is firmly engaged with the corresponding holding groove 556 through two engaging blocks 535. Thus, the shielding member 552 of the eighth thin sheet 55 can be firmly positioned on the shielding member 532 of the seventh thin sheet 53, so as to obtain a better shielding effect. It should be noted that, in another implementation of the present embodiment, the shielding member 552 of the eighth thin sheet 55 may also have a plurality of holding blocks, and the shielding member 532 of the seventh thin sheet 53 may form a plurality of holding grooves for respectively engaging with the plurality of holding blocks, and the above-mentioned manner is not limited thereto.
[0190] In summary, the connector 100 of this embodiment can prevent the first thin sheet 41, the second thin sheet 43, the third thin sheet 45 and the fourth thin sheet 47 of the thin sheet assembly 4 corresponding to the upper port 121 of the housing 1 from being loosened relative to the housing 1 in the vertical direction D3 by the first sheet holding portion 414 and the second sheet holding portion 474 being respectively held on the first shell holding portion 122 and the second shell holding portion 123. The fifth thin sheet 49, the sixth thin sheet 51, the seventh thin sheet 53 and the eighth thin sheet 55 of the thin sheet assembly 4 corresponding to the lower port 131 of the housing 1 can be prevented from being loosened relative to the housing 1 in the vertical direction D3 by the third sheet holding portion 494 and the fourth sheet holding portion 554 being respectively held on the third shell holding portion 132 and the fourth shell holding portion 133. Thus, the wafer assembly 4 can be stably positioned in the chamber 15 of the housing 1. When the pluggable module is plugged into the connector 100, the wafer assembly 4 can stably maintain a plug-in electrical connection with the pluggable module to improve electrical connection performance, thereby achieving the purpose of the present invention.
