Abstract
Description
Technical Field
[0001] The invention relates to a strapping machine and a method for strapping cable coils, in particular a strapping machine and a method for use in a fully automatic facility. Background Art
[0002] In order to bundle the cable coil, the cable coil is wrapped N-folded with a tape (preferably an adhesive tape) at one or more points to prevent the cable coil from being broken down again into its individual windings and thus not being able to be processed in further production steps. Currently, bundling is preferably performed by automatic bundling. Automatic bundling machines usually have a high degree of autonomy, i.e. the storage capacity of the adhesive tape or the wire roll capacity is about 20 m-500 m, so that it is necessary to stop the bundling machine at large time intervals. Such fully automatic bundling machines can be used both in stationary areas, i.e. fixedly installed in the facility, and in mobile areas, for example in the context of robot end effectors. The trend in future applications is to shorten the processing time of each cable coil.
[0003] The publication DE 10 2019 121 634 A1 relates to a strapping machine and a method for strapping wound elongated articles. The publication describes that in order to use the receptacle to receive the coil, the coil is positioned in the center of the disk and remains stationary there. The disk is then rotated, for example, by at least 180°, so that the strapping roller with the tape section wrapped around it pivots on the coil and the tape section comes into contact with the coil to be strapped with its sticky underside.
[0004] Prior art strapping machines and methods have at least one disadvantage of being too slow for future use. Summary of the invention
[0005] It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a device and a method for bundling cable coils which enable shorter processing times and / or produce better bundling coils.
[0006] This object is achieved by a strapping machine according to claim 1, a strapping machine according to claim 9 and a method according to claim 12. Further advantageous embodiments of the invention can be found in the dependent claims, the description and the drawings.
[0007] In particular, the above-mentioned object is achieved by a strapping machine for strapping cable coils, the strapping machine comprising: a rotatable strapping wheel with a gap, wherein the cable coil can be inserted into the gap up to the rotation axis of the strapping wheel; a coil body, rotatably fixed to the strapping wheel, for receiving a belt section from a belt portion, wherein the cable coil can be strapped with the belt section; a belt fixing and cutting unit, for cutting the belt section from the belt portion and for fixing the free end of the belt portion, wherein the coil body is arranged on the strapping wheel in a staggered manner relative to the longitudinal axis of the gap, and the free end of the cut belt section can be provided between the coil body and the belt fixing and cutting unit transversely to the longitudinal axis of the gap, so that the cable coil can contact the free end of the cut belt section when inserted.
[0008] The strapping machine of the present invention has at least the advantage that the free end of the belt segment can be optimally positioned so as to achieve immediate bonding between the belt segment and the cable coil, and the cable coil is inserted into the gap and the tying has already begun. Therefore, the tying time and / or the cycle time on the strapping machine are shortened. In particular, the so-called main time, i.e. the time the cable coil spends on the strapping machine, is reduced. The coil bodies are arranged in a staggered manner relative to the longitudinal axis of the gap so that the free ends of the belt segments can be aligned transversely to the gap. In addition, the belt segments used to tie the cable coils have a predetermined length. By winding it onto the coil body, the length can be selected arbitrarily. Already before tying, the corresponding belt segments are also separated from the belt and can be used completely for tying. The separation of the belt and the belt segment and the winding occur in non-production time, i.e., the time when there is no processing of the cable coil on the strapping machine, so that the subsequent tying can be started and immediately carried out when the cable coil is inserted into the gap. This situation shortens the cycle time of the strapping machine. In addition, when positioned, the free end of the belt segment can be fixed transversely to the gap. For fixing, on the one hand, the free end of the band section can be clamped between a projection on the pressing element and the bending element. On the other hand, the adhesive surface of the free end of the band section can be fixed by engaging the free end, in particular the adhesive surface, of the bending of the bending element. On the one hand, the fixing can prevent the free end from forming a small projection in an uncontrolled manner, and on the other hand, the fixing can cause a (slight) counter-tension on the band section, which counter-tension leads to a harder winding during bundling. Finally, the strapping machine according to the invention has a simple structure and does not require a complex design of, for example, a centering mechanism.
[0009] When cutting, the curved element is preferably used as a counterpart to the cutting of the tape fixing and cutting unit, wherein in particular the free end of the bend on the curved element is used to engage the free end of the cut tape segment, and the curved element can be pivoted in the direction of the coil body so that the free end of the cut tape segment, and wherein the curved element can be pivoted in the direction of the coil body so that the free end of the cut tape segment can be provided to the gap in the center. Due to the pivoting of the curved element, in particular the free end with the bend, the engaged free end of the tape segment can be positioned at a predetermined position. Thus, for example, the free end of the tape segment can be positioned in the middle of the gap in order to achieve an optimal engagement of the free end with the inserted cable coil. During insertion, the front area of the cable coil is usually located essentially in the middle of the gap, so that the free end there should first contact the cable coil in order to achieve direct bonding.
[0010] The tape, preferably from a store, can preferably be provided on the coil body by means of a tape fixing and cutting unit. The store allows a large number of tapes to be provided so that many strapping processes can be performed before downtimes occur due to store replacement. The tape fixing and cutting unit can provide the free end of the tape precisely at a specific position, for example at the second position for transfer to the coil body or at the third position when cutting the tape section from the tape and fixing the new free end of the tape. The free end of the tape is always fixed and can therefore be used in a controlled manner.
[0011] The strap fixing and cutting unit is preferably arranged separately and at a distance from the bending element. The two units can be moved independently of each other by this separation. Thus, the structure and the strapping method can be used more flexibly. The spaced arrangement provides the possibility of an efficient arrangement, for example, near the actual place of use, thereby saving time, for example in the case of moving one or both units.
[0012] The bending element is preferably movable in the direction of the band fixing and cutting unit. The mobility of the assembly can avoid collisions in the case of bundling. In particular, the assembly is moved out of the rotation area of the coil body. Another advantage can be that, by moving the bending element towards the band fixing and cutting unit, the path traveled by the two units respectively is shorter than the path traveled when only one unit is moved. Due to the mobility of the two units, the cutting process can be better adapted to the band and the cable coil. The movement of the bending element towards the band fixing and cutting unit can occur simultaneously with the movement of the band fixing and cutting unit to the third position, i.e. towards the bending element. Time can be saved by the simultaneous movement.
[0013] Preferably, the strapping machine also has a pressing element which is arranged on the strapping wheel and is designed to apply the strap section to the cable coil with a predetermined pressure. In contrast to a brush or the like, the pressing element can provide a constant and predeterminable pressure with which the strap section is pressed onto the inserted cable coil. This increases the reliability of the strapping result.
[0014] The pressing element and the coil body are preferably located in a plane, wherein the plane is preferably offset parallel to the plane of the strapping wheel. This arrangement enables the pressing element to exert pressure on the belt and the cable coil from the time of insertion until the end of the tying, thereby firmly pressing the belt against the cable coil. In addition, the coil body and the pressing element are well visible and accessible from the outside, so that their condition can be easily checked and both components can be quickly replaced. Rapid replacement reduces downtime.
[0015] The pressing element is preferably composed of at least two consistent sections, which together form a closed pressing surface. When pressed, each section is individually close to the coil, thereby applying approximately the same pressure to each curved section of the coil. This makes it possible to achieve uniform pressing. The individual sections are preferably formed of a hard material, such as hardened steel, so that no wear (or almost no wear) occurs. A closed pressing surface is achieved, wherein the sections are directly arranged against each other. Gaps and / or height differences at the transitions of adjacent sections are not counted as interruptions of the closed pressing surface. In particular, the pressing surface is permanently used as a closed pressing surface, so that no additional mechanical device (or working step) is required to combine the various sections together to form a closed or common pressing surface.
[0016] The above-mentioned object is further achieved in particular by a strapping machine for strapping cable coils, the strapping machine comprising: a rotatable strapping wheel with a gap, wherein the cable coil can be inserted into the gap up to the rotation axis of the strapping wheel; a coil body, which is rotatably fixed to the strapping wheel to receive a belt section from a belt portion, wherein the cable coil can be strapped using the belt section; and a pressing element, which is arranged on the strapping wheel and is configured to press the belt section onto the cable coil with a predetermined pressure, wherein the pressing element is composed of at least two consistent sections, which together form a closed pressing surface.
[0017] Since the pressing element is arranged on the strapping wheel, the pressing element moves with the strapping wheel and runs around the cable coil during strapping. As a result, the belt section is pressed against each strapping point of the cable coil, which leads to better strapping of the cable coil. The configuration of the pressing surface consisting of individual segments enables the size of the pressing surface to be varied. In addition, a structure consisting of consistent segments can be implemented more effectively than a structure consisting of corresponding individual different segments.
[0018] Preferably, each of the at least two coincident sections has a concave contact surface which, when in contact with the cable coil, can extend partially around the cable coil in the circumferential direction of the cable coil. The concave contact surface extends, in particular, in a direction transverse to the plane in which the cable coil is arranged on the strapping machine, at least partially around the cable coil. The concave contact surface can better adapt to the curved (external) shape of the cable coil, whereby the belt section can be better pressed against the cable coil, resulting in the effect of better bundling the cable coil. Better bundling means in particular more compact, more efficient and / or more reliable bundling.
[0019] Preferably, each of at least two consistent sections can be individually displaced relative to the pressing element, thereby producing a curved pressing surface. The displacement preferably occurs in a linear manner. The linear displacement of the sections is easy to achieve and requires almost no maintenance. The sections are preferably arranged in a spring-tensioned manner. Preferably, the displacement occurs against the spring force. Each section moves according to the extrusion pressure applied to each section by the cable coil individually. The curved pressing surface enables the pressing surface to better adapt to the (external) shape of the cable coil along the cable coil and in the plane in which the cable coil is arranged on the strapping machine. Due to the better adaptability, the belt section can be better pressed on the cable coil, thereby producing a better effect of bundling the cable coil. The curved pressing surface can be formed concave or convex relative to the cable coil. In particular, the protrusion of the pressing surface can be changed during bundling (i.e., when the cable coil is winding). The changed protrusion gives the best pressure on the pressing surface from the pressing element to the cable coil at each bundling moment.
[0020] The above-mentioned object is also particularly achieved by a method for bundling cable coils, in particular by using a bundling machine, which has: a rotatable bundling wheel with a gap; a coil body rotatably fixed to the bundling wheel; and a band fixing and cutting unit, wherein the method has the following steps: receiving a band section of a band portion on the coil body, cutting the band section from the band portion by the band fixing and cutting unit, providing a free end of the band section between the coil body and the band fixing and cutting unit transversely to the longitudinal axis of the gap on the bundling wheel so that the cable coil can contact the free end, inserting the cable coil into the gap up to the rotation axis of the bundling wheel, and bundling the cable coil using the band section by rotating the bundling wheel.
[0021] The method has the following advantages: Strapping starts directly when the cable coil is inserted, because a reliable contact is established between the cable coil and the free end of the band section as soon as the cable coil is inserted. No intermediate steps are required. As a result, the method enables fast and short cycle times. In addition, the only movement of the cable coil is along the gap into and out. A displacement of the cable coil transversely to the gap is not necessary. This also makes the method faster.
[0022] Preferably, the receiving of the band section on the coil body is achieved by rotating the coil body. By rotating, the band section can be relatively easily received on the coil body. No additional auxiliary tools, such as clamps or similar tools are required. In addition, the band section can be arbitrarily selected in length.
[0023] Preferably, in order to receive the tape section on the coil body, the free end of the tape section can be provided on the coil body by means of a movable tape fixing and cutting unit. By providing the free end on the coil body, the tape section can be wound tautly on the coil body. Via the tape fixing and cutting unit, the contact and possible contact pressure of the free end on the coil body can be selected depending on the tape section.
[0024] Preferably, the method further comprises the step of pressing the band section onto the cable coil by means of a pressing element on the strapping wheel, in particular in the time period from insertion of the cable coil to the end of the strapping. By applying pressure from insertion to the end of the strapping, no additional displacement, for example in the direction of the strapping wheel as in the prior art, is required. This speeds up the strapping process compared to the prior art.
[0025] Preferably, after the band section has been transferred from the coil body to the cable coil, the banding is completed by an additional rotation of the banding wheel. During the additional rotation, the band section is completely pressed onto the cable coil by the pressing element. The formation of small protrusions is prevented.

[0038] Hereinafter, embodiments are described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings. DETAILED DESCRIPTION
[0039] Figure 1 An embodiment of a strapping machine 1 for strapping cable coils 2 is shown. The strapping machine 1 has at least one rotatable strapping wheel 10 with a gap 12. The strapping wheel 10 can be rotated about an axis of rotation D relative to a frame 4 of the strapping machine 1. The gap 12 extends at least to the axis of rotation D or the center of the strapping wheel 10. The gap 12 is wide enough to accommodate a section of the cable coil 2 so that the cable coil 2 can be wound or tied with a belt portion 8 in this section. The cable coil 2 can be inserted into the gap 12 at least up to the axis of rotation D of the strapping wheel 10. The center of the strapping wheel 10 coincides with the axis of rotation of the strapping wheel. If the cable coil 2 is arranged in the middle of the strapping wheel 10 or on the axis of rotation D, the strapping wheel 10 can be rotated without moving the cable coil 2. It is thus possible to wrap or tie the cable coil 2 with a belt portion 8, preferably an adhesive tape, by means of the strapping wheel 10.
[0040] For strapping, the strapping machine 1 also has a coil body 14, which is rotatably fixed to the strapping wheel 10. The coil body 14 is arranged to receive the tape section 9 from the tape part 8. Preferably, the coil body 14 has its own drive, which can rotate the coil body 14. By rotating the coil body 14, a tape section 9 of any length can be arranged on the coil body 14. The length of the tape section 9 is selected so that the tape section can be wound around or strapped around the cable coil 2 with a predetermined number of winding turns.
[0041] The coil bodies 14 are arranged offset relative to the longitudinal axis L of the gap 12. This offset arrangement enables the coil bodies 14 to be arranged on one side of the gap 12 and the band section 9 wound on the coil bodies 14 to be aligned transversely to the gap 12. Depending on the position of the strapping wheel 10, the coil bodies 14 can be aligned with the gap 12 on the upper side O or on the lower side U. The terms upper side O and lower side U refer to sections of the orientation or vertical axis Z in the earth's gravitational field, which are separated in the horizontal direction X by the longitudinal axis L of the gap 12 in the basic position of the strapping wheel 10 (see FIG. Figure 1 ).
[0042] The strapping machine 1 also has at least one strap fixing and cutting unit 30 for cutting strap sections 9 from the strap 8. The strap fixing and cutting unit 30 preferably has means for mechanical cutting or separation, such as a blade or a cutting part 34. In alternative embodiments, other cutting means can also be used, such as a laser.
[0043] As a counterpart to cutting, the strapping machine 1 shown also has a bending element 40. The bending element 40 includes at least one bending portion 42, which forms a free end at one end. The free end of the bending portion 42 has at least one adhesive surface 44 (see Figure 5 ). The adhesive surface 44 is designed to adhere to the adhesive surface of the free end 9a of the cut tape section 9 (i.e., the sticky side of the adhesive tape). By adhering the free end 9a to the adhesive surface 44, the free end 9a is fixed. The formation of so-called small protrusions is prevented by the fixation or engagement, which can cause the free end 9a to swing around in an uncontrolled manner. Even in the case where the free end 9a is not stuck or should be released again, the free end 9a is still closer to the coil than in the prior art. The adhesive surface 44 can in particular have a rough or coated surface in order to improve the adhesive properties. However, in addition to the engagement of the free end 9a when the tape section 9 is cut from the tape portion 8, the free end 9a should be able to be easily separated when the cable coil 2 is inserted into the gap 12, so that the free end 9a of the tape section 9 can be quickly and safely connected to the inserted cable coil 2. In an alternative embodiment, the free end 9a of the band section 9 is clamped between the protrusion 17 on the pressing element 16 and the bend 42 or the adhesive surface 44 until the free end 9a is released from the clamping when the coil 2 is inserted. All embodiments have in common that, due to the fixing and / or shortening of the free end 9a, an undesired contact of the engagement surface of the free end 9a with the engagement surface on the band section 9 is prevented.
[0044] In particular, the bending element 40 can be pivoted about the direction of the coil body 14. The pivoting movement can be achieved by means of a hinge 46 on the bending element 40 (see Figure 6Due to the pivoting movement, the free end 9a of the cut-off band section 9 can be arranged in the center of the gap 12 when it engages the engagement surface 44. This pivoting movement can be triggered by a spring mechanism so that when the cable coil 2 is inserted, the bending element 40 can be pressed away from the coil body 14 by the hinge 46.
[0045] The strap fixing and cutting unit 30 shown is also arranged to fix the free end 8a of the strap 8. The strap 8 is preferably provided by a storage 20. The storage 20 can be arranged on the strapping machine 1 or remotely. The storage 20 contains a large number of straps 8. In the embodiment shown, the strap 8 is provided to the strap fixing and cutting unit 30 via a supply device 22. The strap fixing and cutting unit 30 has at least one surface or strap fixing member 32, which is designed to fix the free end 8a of the strap 8. In one embodiment, the strap fixing member 32 can include a suction mechanism to fix the free end 8a.
[0046] The strap fixing and cutting unit 30 can be moved relative to the strapping wheel 10 so that the free end 8a of the strap portion 8 can be provided on the coil body 14 or the bending element 40. In particular, the strap fixing and cutting unit 30 can be moved at least between a first, a second and a third position FP1, FP2, FP3. The movement is preferably a linear movement. In the first position FP1, the strap fixing and cutting unit 30 is spaced apart from the strapping wheel 10 so that no undesired contact occurs between the strap fixing and cutting unit 30 and components on the strapping wheel 10 (see Figure 1 In the second position FP2, the tape fixing and cutting unit 30 can contact the coil body 14 (see Figure 2 ). When contact is made, the free end 8a of the band portion 8 can be transferred to the coil body 14. The band fixing element 32 preferably has a flexible surface so that the transfer can be carried out without damage or hard contact. The band fixing element 32 preferably has an elastic surface so that the free end 8a of the band portion 8 is pressed against the coil body 14. The adhesive force can be improved by pressing. In the third position FP3, the band fixing and cutting unit 30 is moved in the direction of the opening 6 of the strapping machine 1 or in the direction of the bending element 40 so that the band fixing element 32, the band portion 8 pointing vertically through the coil body 14, is fixed vertically. The term vertical or substantially vertical refers to Figure 5 , and in other embodiments include a corresponding orientation perpendicular to the longitudinal axis L of the gap 12.
[0047] The strap fixing and cutting unit 30 is separated from the bending element 40 on the strapping machine 1 and arranged at a certain distance. As mentioned above, the strap fixing and cutting unit 30 can move in the direction of the bending element 40. In the third position FP3, when the bending element 40 is in its basic position (see Figure 1), the belt fixing and cutting unit 30 is also spaced apart from the bending element 40. The bending element 40 can move in the direction R to the belt fixing and cutting unit 30.
[0048] In the embodiment shown, the strapping machine 1 also has a pressing element 16 (see Fig. 9 ). The pressing element 16 is arranged on the strapping wheel 10. The pressing element 16 is arranged to apply a predetermined pressure to the belt section 9 on the cable coil 2. In particular, the pressing element 16 has a pressing surface 18 that can be in direct contact with the belt section 9. In the embodiment shown, the pressing surface 18 is formed as a sliding member. In an alternative embodiment, the pressing surface 18 can be formed by other components, such as a roller. In particular, the pressing element 16 has at least two sections, which together form the pressing surface 18. The pressing surface 18 is preferably elastically mounted and can apply a predetermined pressure on the belt section 9. If the pressing element 16 has a separate section, the pressing surface 18 can be well adapted to the curvature of the coil 2 and thus optimally apply the pressing force. In an alternative embodiment, the pressing surface 18 can be formed by a component made of a (friction) resistant, elastically deformable material. The pressing surface 18 is preferably movable by a width B relative to the pressing element 16. Due to the mobility, the pressing surface 18 can be adjusted according to the diameter of the cable coil 2 or the force to be applied. The pressing element 16 and the coil body 14 are preferably located in the plane XZ. Therefore, the pressing element 16 can act simultaneously with the coil body 14, that is, when the coil body 14 transfers the wound belt section 9 to the cable coil 2, the pressing element 16 can apply a force to the belt section 9 in the direction of the cable coil 2. The durability of the coil can be improved by the force action. In particular, the plane XZ of the coil body 14 and the pressing element 16 is offset in parallel with respect to the strapping wheel plane X'-Z'. The displacement of the cable coil 2 between the planes XZ, X'-Z' is unnecessary.
[0049] Due to the described arrangement, in one embodiment, the free end 9a of the cut tape segment 9 can be arranged between the coil body 14 and the tape fixing and cutting unit 30 transversely to the longitudinal axis L of the gap 12. Transverse means substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis L of the gap 12 and in particular offset in a plane XZ parallel to the plane X'-Z' of the strapping wheel. This alignment of the free end 9a allows the cable coil 2 to be directly in contact with the free end 9a of the cut tape segment 9 when inserted. Strapping presupposes a step of bringing the tape segment 9 into contact with the cable coil 2 to be strapped, so that strapping can start directly when the cable coil 2 is inserted into the strapping machine 1.
[0050] In the illustrated embodiment of the pressing element 16, each of the three illustrated identical sections 18a, 18b, 18c has a concave contact surface, e.g. Figure 8In the XZ plane in the cable coil 2. When in contact with the cable coil 2, the contact surface formed in this way can extend partially around the cable coil 2 in the circumferential direction of the cable coil 2. The concave protrusion of each section 18a, 18b, 18c is preferably adapted to the diameter of the cable coil 2 to be bundled. In addition to the just described adjustment of the pressing surface 18 to the curved (external) shape of the cable coil 2 along the first direction X transverse to the cable coil plane YZ, the pressing element 16 shown also implements an adjustment of the pressing surface 18 along the cable coil 2 in the cable coil plane YZ. For the last-mentioned adjustment, each of the three consistent sections 18a, 18b, 18c shown can be moved individually relative to the pressing element 16. Therefore, when the pressing surface 18 is located on the outer wall of the cable coil 2 in the cable coil plane YZ, the two outer sections 18a, 18c are displaced relative to the pressing element 16 to the second plane E2, while due to the protrusion of the cable coil 2, the middle section 18b is only pushed to the first plane E1 (see Fig.10 ). The first plane E1 presses into the pressing element 16 more strongly than the second plane E2. A first spacing A1 exists between the first plane E1 and the second plane E2. As a result, a concave raised pressing surface 18 is formed. If the strapping process continues, the pressing element 16 moves together with the strapping wheel 10 to the inside of the cable coil 2 in the cable coil plane YZ. Due to the protrusion of the cable coil 2, a convex raised pressing surface 18 is formed there (see Fig.11 ). In the case of a convex pressing surface 18, the two outer sections 18a, 18c lie on a first plane E1 and the middle section 18b lies on a second plane E2. The first plane E1 again presses more strongly into the pressing element 16 than the second plane E2. There is a second distance A2 between the first plane E1 and the second plane E2, which can be the same as or different from the first distance A1. When the cable coil 2 is wound several times, the protrusion of the pressing surface 18 changes several times between a concave and a convex protrusion.
[0051] Figures 2 to 8 An embodiment of a method for bundling a cable coil 2 is shown. The method is particularly suitable for a bundling machine 1 having a rotatable bundling wheel 10 with a belt gap 12, a coil body 14 rotatably fixed to the bundling wheel 10 and a belt fixing and cutting unit 30.
[0052] In the method, in a first step, the strapping section 9 of the strap 8 is received on the coil body 14. For this purpose, the strapping wheel 10 is moved from the basic position (see Figure 1) is moved, wherein the gap 12 is preferably aligned horizontally at the opening 6 of the strapping machine 1, so that the distance between the coil body 14 and the band fixing and cutting unit 30 is small. The band fixing and cutting unit 30 is then moved together with the free end 8a of the band portion 8 from the first position FP1 to the second position FP2. In the second position FP2, the band fixing and cutting unit 30, in particular the band fixing member 32, contacts the coil body 14, whereby the free end 8a of the band portion 8 is held in engagement with the coil body 14 with its adhesive side (see Figure 2 ). Preferably, the belt fixing member 32 applies pressure on the free end 8a to increase the joining force. The coil body 14 can be rotated by a separate driving device so that the belt section 9 of the belt portion 8 is wound onto the coil body 14 by rotation (see Figure 3 ). The length of the band section 9 can be selected arbitrarily. The cable coil 2 should be able to be bundled with the band section 9. By winding the band section 9 onto the coil body 14, in particular very long band sections 9 can be selected and provided without requiring additional space or extensive mechanical structures on the strapping machine 1.
[0053] In the case of the pressing element 16, the pressing surface 18 is also displaced along the gap 12 by a width B. The pressing surface 18 is preferably mounted elastically. The pressing surface 18 can be moved by releasing the fixing mechanism or by a separate drive. The width B is predefined and is particularly suitable for the cable coil 2 to be connected.
[0054] In a subsequent step, the strap section 9 is cut from the strap 8. The cutting is performed by the strap fixing and cutting unit 30, in particular by means of the cutting section 34. For cutting, the strapping wheel 10 is moved back to the strapping wheel basic position so that the gap 12 is aligned along the longitudinal axis L (see Figure 4 ). In the embodiment shown, the belt portion 8 with the belt section 9 is suspended substantially vertically between the coil body 14 and the reservoir 20. The pressing surface 18 is in line with the belt portion 8 with the belt section 9 and at least partially contacts the belt portion 8 or the belt section 9. The pressing surface 18 preferably has a curved shape that can well adapt to the shape of the inserted cable coil 2. The belt portion 8 or the belt section 9 preferably contacts at least the two end points of the curved pressing surface 18 on the non-adhesive side of the belt portion 8. Due to the contact, the belt portion 8 or the belt section 9 is slightly fixed and can still match the shape of the pressing surface 18 when the cable coil 2 is inserted.
[0055] The tape fixing and cutting unit 30 then moves from the first position FP1 to the third position FP3 (see Figure 5). In the third position FP3, the belt fixing member 32 contacts the belt portion 8 and fixes it. Due to the fixation, the belt portion 8 is basically arranged tautly between the coil body 14 and the belt fixing member 32. The taut arrangement makes it easier to separate the belt portion 8 from the belt section 9. At the same time, during the movement to the third position FP3, the belt section 9 is separated from the belt portion 8 by the cutting portion 34. In order to facilitate or realize the separation, the bending element 40 is also moved from its basic position (see Figure 5 ) moves along the movement direction R towards the tape fixing and cutting unit 30. During the cutting process, when the tape fixing and cutting unit 30 and the bending element 40 move relative to each other in order to separate the tape section 9 from the tape portion 8, the cutting part 34 can be immersed in the free space 43 on the bending element 40 (see Fig. 9 ). The cutting portion 34 is protected by the free space 43 and does not contact the bending element 40, which protects the cutting portion 34. The free end of the bending portion 42 clamps the free end 9a of the tape portion 8 or the tape segment 9 produced after separation between itself and the protrusion 17 on the pressing element 16. In the embodiment shown, the free end of the bending portion 42 has an adhesive surface 44, so that during the cutting process or severing, the free end 9a of the cut tape segment 9 is bonded to the adhesive surface 44 of the bending element 40. By bonding the free end 9a of the tape segment 9 to the adhesive surface 44, the free end 9a is fixed. This fixing prevents the formation of a small protrusion, in which the free end 9a hangs uncontrolled in space. At the same time, the free end 8a of the tape portion 8 is fixed to the tape fixing and cutting unit 30 by the tape fixing member 32. Then, the tape fixing and cutting unit 30 moves back to the first position FP1 so that it does not hinder the strapping.
[0056] The bending element 40 can be moved via the hinge 46 in the direction of the coil body 14. The movement via the hinge 46 can be provided, for example, via a pretensioning system, which is released to move in the direction of the coil body 14. By moving the bending element 40, and in particular the engagement surface 44, in the direction of the coil body 14, the free end 9a of the band section 9 can be provided between the coil body 14 and the engagement surface 44 of the bend 42 transversely to the longitudinal axis L of the gap 12 on the tying wheel 10. This arrangement allows the cable coil 2 inserted into the gap 12 to come into contact with the free end 9a (see Figure 7). When the cable coil 2 is inserted into the gap 12 up to the center or rotation axis D of the strapping wheel 10, the free end 9a immediately engages the cable coil 2 and bundling can begin. Due to the shape of the pressing surface 18, the free end 9a and subsequently the entire belt section 9 are pressed against the cable coil 2. Pressing can improve the adhesion, wherein the pressure on the pressing element 16 is adjustable. The complete bundling of the cable coil 2 with the belt section 9 is achieved by the rotation of the strapping wheel 10. Since the cable coil 2 is arranged in the middle or rotation axis D of the strapping wheel 10, the belt section 9 is guided around when the coil body 14 rolls around the cable coil 2, where it is pressed on the cable coil 2 by the pressure element 16, so that the cable coil 2 is bundled. This pressing is automatically achieved until the end of bundling. The bundling process or bundling is preferably ended by performing an additional rotation of the strapping wheel 10 after the belt section 9 has been (completely) transferred from the coil body 14 to the cable coil 2. The additional rotation can also include only a partial rotation, i.e. not a full 360 degree rotation, or several full rotations. The additional rotation serves to completely press the band section 9 onto the cable coil 2 so that no unnecessary small protrusions remain. After the bundling is completed, the bundled cable coil 2 can be removed from the gap 12 (see Figure 8 ). At this time, the strapping wheel 10 and the bending element 40 are in their respective basic positions, and the strap fixing and cutting unit 30 is in the first position FP1 with the free end 8a of the strap portion 8, so that a new strapping can start immediately.
