Abstract
Description
[Technical field]
[0001] The present invention relates to a reel holding device that holds a reel that houses a carrier tape in which components are enclosed, and a component mounting device that includes this reel holding device. [Background technology]
[0002] Conventionally, there is known a component mounting device that manufactures a mounted board by supplying components using a component supply unit and transferring the components to a board using a work head. There are various types of component supply units, but a tape feeder type that transports a carrier tape containing components and supplies the components to a component supply port is widely used. Since a tape feeder draws in and transports the carrier tape that is unwound from a reel, the component mounting device requires a reel holding device that holds the reel. The reel holding device is usually capable of holding a reel that is to be used in advance and a reel that is to be used as a replenishment reel after the reel (for example, see Patent Document 1 below).
[0003] In the reel holding device described in the above Patent Document 1, the current reel used first is installed at a position on the far side as viewed from the worker, and the replenishment reel used after the current reel is installed at a position on the near side as viewed from the worker. The current reel has the wound carrier tape directly supported by the reel holding device, and when the carrier tape is pulled by the component supply unit, it rotates on the spot to pay out the carrier tape. Then, when all the carrier tape is pulled out, the part supported by the reel holding device is no longer present, and the reel automatically falls and is discharged to the outside. When the used reel is discharged, the component supply unit switches the target for pulling the carrier tape to the carrier tape of the replenishment reel. The replenishment reel is pulled by the component supply unit and rolls from the standby position, moving to the location where the current reel was located, and the wound carrier tape is supported by the reel holding device, so that the reel is automatically replaced. [0004] [Patent Document 1] International Publication No. 2017 / 061042 Summary of the Invention [Problem to be solved by the invention]
[0005] However, once the current reel is set in a specified position, the reel is not ejected until the carrier tape is completely consumed, which causes a problem of poor workability when it becomes necessary to retrieve the reel during a changeover, etc. Also, in a component replenishment operation in which an empty reel is retrieved and a replenishment reel is set, so-called component verification may be performed to check whether the replenishment reel has been properly replenished using information on the empty reel, but in the reel holding device described in the patent document, a reel is automatically ejected when it becomes empty, so that multiple empty reels are mixed in the ejected location, which causes a problem that the empty reel used for component verification may be mixed up and component verification cannot be performed.
[0006] SUMMARY OF THE PRESENT EMBODIMENT An object of the present invention is to provide a reel holding device and a component mounting device which solve the above problems. [Means for solving the problem]
[0007] The reel holding device of the present invention is a reel holding device used together with a component supply unit that holds a reel housing a carrier tape in which components are enclosed, and supplies components to a working head while feeding the carrier tape unwound from the reel, the reel holding device having an input port through which a reel is input and an output port located below the input port and through which the reel is output, the reel holder being capable of holding one reel at each of a first position near the input port and a second position located on a movement path of the reel from the first position to the output port, a first abutment portion that abuts against an outer periphery of the reel located at the first position and prevents the reel located at the first position from moving to the second position, a second abutment portion that abuts against an outer periphery of the reel located at the second position and prevents the reel located at the second position from moving to the output port, and an interlocking portion that interlocks the first abutment portion and the second abutment portion, thereby retracting the first abutment portion and the second abutment portion from the positions at which they prevent the movement of the reel. The interlocking portion includes an elastic member that presses the first contact portion to a position that blocks the movement of the reel, and an interlocking member that interlocks with the first contact portion to retract the second contact portion from the position that blocks the movement of the reel when the first contact portion receives a force from the reel that is located at the first position that exceeds the pressing force of the elastic member and retracts from the position that blocks the movement of the reel. .
[0008] The component mounting device of the present invention includes the reel holding device of the present invention that holds a reel containing a carrier tape in which components are enclosed, a work head that removes components from the carrier tape and mounts them on a substrate, and a component supply unit that supplies components to the work head while feeding the carrier tape being unwound from the reel. Effect of the Invention
[0009] According to the present invention, there is no risk of damaging the carrier tape wound around the reel, and the reel can be easily retrieved at any time even after it has been set. [Brief description of the drawings]

[0011] An embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. Fig. 1 shows a component mounting device 1 in one embodiment of the present invention. The component mounting device 1 is a device that mounts components BH on a board KB, and includes a mounting device main body 1A, a component supply device 1B, and a carrier tape supply device 1C.
[0012] In Fig. 1, the mounting device main body 1A includes a board transport section 11, a work head 12, and a head moving mechanism 13. The board transport section 11 includes a pair of transport conveyors 11a that are arranged at an interval in the left-right direction of Fig. 1 and extend in a direction perpendicular to the paper surface of Fig. 1. The board transport section 11 transports the board KB by the pair of transport conveyors 11a and positions it at a predetermined work position. For the sake of convenience, the transport direction of the board KB by the board transport section 11 is referred to as the X direction (left-right direction), and the up-down direction is referred to as the Z direction. In addition, the direction perpendicular to both the X direction and the Z direction is referred to as the Y direction (front-back direction). Furthermore, in the Y direction, the right side in Fig. 1 is referred to as the front, and the left side in Fig. 1 is referred to as the rear.
[0013] The work head 12 is equipped with a nozzle 12N extending downward, and picks up the component BH by supplying vacuum pressure to the nozzle 12N. The head moving mechanism 13 is formed of, for example, an XY table mechanism, and moves the work head 12 in the XY plane.
[0014] The component supplying device 1B includes a feeder cart 21 and a component supplying unit 22. The feeder cart 21 is equipped with wheels and can move freely on a floor surface FL, and includes a table-like feeder base 21F on its upper portion, which extends in the X direction (see FIGS. 2 and 3).
[0015] The component supply unit 22 is composed of a tape feeder and is detachably mounted on the feeder base 21F. The component supply unit 22 transports the carrier tape CT supplied from the carrier tape supply device 1C forward in the Y direction. A plurality of components BH are individually enclosed in the carrier tape CT in a line, and the component supply unit 22 transports the carrier tape CT to continuously supply the components BH to the component supply port 22K.
[0016] After positioning the board KB using the board transport unit 11, the mounting device main body 1A moves the working head 12 using the head moving mechanism 13 to repeatedly perform a component transfer operation to transfer the components BH supplied by the component supply device 1B to the board KB. The component transfer operation consists of an operation of picking up the components BH supplied by the component supply unit 22 using the nozzle 12N, and an operation of mounting the picked-up components BH at the target mounting position on the board KB. By repeating this component transfer operation, a mounted board is manufactured in which the components BH are mounted on the board KB.
[0017] Next, the carrier tape supplying device 1C will be described. The carrier tape supplying device 1C is a device that holds a plurality of reels RL around which the carrier tape CT is wound, and supplies the carrier tape CT to the component supplying unit 22, and is used in a state where it is connected to the feeder cart 21. The component supplying unit 22 attached to the feeder cart 21 draws in and transports the carrier tape CT that is unwound forward from the reel RL held by the carrier tape supplying device 1C, and supplies the components BH to the mounting device main body 1A.
[0018] 1, the carrier tape supplying device 1C holds a reel RL to be used first (hereinafter referred to as "current reel RL1") and a reel RL to be used next after the current reel RL1 (hereinafter referred to as "supply reel RL2"). The current reel RL1 is a reel that pays out the carrier tape CT being transported by the component supplying unit 22. The supplementary reel RL2 is a reel for supplying, that is, a reel that pays out the carrier tape CT to the component supplying unit 22 as the new current reel RL1 after the current reel RL1 runs out of components.
[0019] Thus, in this embodiment, the carrier tape supplying device 1C is used in conjunction with a component supplying unit 22 that holds a reel RL storing a carrier tape CT and supplies components BH to the work head 12 while feeding the carrier tape CT unwound from the reel RL forward.
[0020] In Fig. 4, Fig. 5 and Fig. 6, the carrier tape supplying device 1C includes a dolly 31 as a base body, and a first reel holding device 32A and a second reel holding device 32B arranged side by side in the front and rear direction. In this specification, when it is not necessary to distinguish between the first reel holding device 32A and the second reel holding device 32B, they are simply referred to as reel holding devices 32. The dolly 31 includes a pair of dolly bases 41 on the left and right. Each dolly base 41 extends in the Y direction (front-rear direction). Wheels 42 are provided on the front and rear undersides of each dolly base 41, and the carrier tape supplying device 1C can run on the floor surface FL by using these four wheels 42. A pair of left and right front supports 43 extend upward from the middle of each of the left and right dolly bases 41, and a pair of left and right rear supports 44 extend upward from the rear end of each of the left and right dolly bases 41.
[0021] 4, 5 and 6, the dolly 31 has a pair of left and right arms 45 extending in the front-rear direction. Each arm 45 extends to connect the upper ends of two pairs of left and right front supports 43 and rear supports 44 positioned opposite each other in the Y direction.
[0022] 4, 5 and 6, the cart 31 is provided with a connecting bar 46 extending in the left-right direction. The connecting bar 46 connects the left and right cart bases 41 at the middle between the left and right cart bases 41. A pair of left and right chuck mechanisms 47 protruding forward is provided on the connecting bar 46. Each of the left and right chuck mechanisms 47 is provided with a pair of gripping members 47S that grip the connecting pin 21P (see FIG. 11) on the feeder cart 21 side that is inserted into a groove that opens forward. These two gripping members 47S are biased in a direction in which they press against each other (X direction) by a spring member (not shown).
[0023] 4, 5 and 6, the cart 31 is equipped with a front support bar 48 and a rear support bar 49 extending in the X direction. The front support bar 48 connects the front ends of the left and right arms 45 to each other, and the rear support bar 49 connects the middle parts of the left and right rear supports 44 in the height direction to each other.
[0024] 4 and 6, the cart 31 is provided with a discharge section 50 into which a used reel RL that has run out of parts and is empty is discharged. The discharge section 50 has both ends in the X direction connected to the left and right cart bases 41 and has a groove-like shape recessed downward.
[0025] 4, 5 and 6, the cart 31 has left and right alignment parts 55. Each alignment part 55 is attached to the inner surface (facing surface) of the front end of each of the left and right cart bases 41, and has a shape that protrudes inward (facing side). The distance between the inner surfaces of the left and right alignment parts 55 is slightly larger than the distance between the outer surfaces of the feeder cart 21.
[0026] 3, 4 and 5, each reel holding device 32 (first reel holding device 32A and second reel holding device 32B) is configured to be able to hold one current reel RL1 and one replenishment reel RL2. One reel holding device 32 is configured to be able to hold the current reel RL1 and replenishment reel RL2 used in one component supply unit 22. Thus, the first reel holding device 32A holds the current reel RL1 and replenishment reel RL2 used in one component supply unit 22, and the second reel holding device 32B holds the current reel RL1 and replenishment reel RL2 used in another component supply unit 22.
[0027] Next, the first reel holding device 32A will be described with reference to Fig. 7. The first reel holding device 32A includes a reel holder 51A that holds a reel RL, a plurality of rollers 81 that come into contact with the held reel RL to determine the position of the reel RL within the reel holder 51A, and an interlocking unit 80 that interlocks the plurality of rollers 81. As shown in Figs. 7(a) and (b), the reel holder 51A includes a pair of guide plates 61 that face each other in the X direction, a first guide member 62, and a second guide member 63.
[0028] The first guide member 62 is provided between the two guide plates 61, and maintains the gap between the two guide plates 61 at a constant size (slightly larger than the width dimension of the reel RL). The second guide member 63 is also provided between the two guide plates 61, like the first guide member 62, and functions as a spacer that maintains the gap between the two guide plates 61 at a constant size. The second guide member 63 is located below the pair of guide plates 61. The upper surface of the second guide member 63 forms an inclined surface 63M facing backward. The reel holder 51A is capable of holding the reel RL in the space surrounded by the pair of guide plates 61, the first guide member 62, and the second guide member 63.
[0029] In Fig. 7(b), the reel holder 51A has an insertion opening 71A through which the reel RL is inserted and an ejection opening 72A through which the reel RL is ejected. The insertion opening 71A is located at the upper rear side of the reel holder 51A, and the insertion opening 71A is located at the lower rear side of the reel holder 51A. The reel RL inserted from the insertion opening 71A can move to the ejection opening 72A while being guided between a pair of guide plates 61 by a guide member consisting of a first guide member 62 and a second guide member 63. That is, the reel holder 51A has a movement path WA (indicated by a dashed arrow in Fig. 7(b)) for the reel RL, which is formed by the pair of guide plates 61, the first guide member 62, and the second guide member 63.
[0030] 7(b), the reel holder 51A is fitted with the aforementioned interlocking unit 80 which interlocks a number of rollers 81. The interlocking unit 80 is made up of a swinging member 52 which is an example of an interlocking member, and a coil spring 82 which is an example of an elastic member. In this embodiment, the swinging member 52 has an overall shape with arms extending in three directions from the center (generally roughly Y-shaped), and a roller 81 is attached to the end of each arm.
[0031] The center of the rocking member 52 is pivotally supported by a shaft 52a attached to the guide plate 61 and extending in the direction along the X-axis. Therefore, the rocking member 52 can rotate around the shaft 52a within the plane (YZ plane) in which the guide plate 61 extends. The rocking member 52 is attached to the reel holder 51A in such a manner that two rollers 81 are arranged substantially in the front-rear direction, and the other roller 81 is located below the two rollers 81. Of the two rollers 81 arranged in the front-rear direction, the roller 81 located behind the shaft 52a is referred to as the first roller 81a, and the roller 81 located in front of the shaft 52a is referred to as the second roller 81b. The roller 81 located below the shaft 52a is referred to as the third roller 81c.
[0032] The range of rotation of the swingable member 52 is restricted by an arc-shaped guide groove 61g formed in the guide plate 61, and the swingable member 52 can swing within the range restricted by the guide groove 61g. This allows the swingable member 52 to take a position (first state) shown by the solid line in Fig. 7(b) and a position (second state) shown by the dashed line. When the position of the swingable member 52 changes between the first state and the second state, the positions of the three rollers 81 also change.
[0033] When the rocking member 52 is in the first state, the first roller 81a and the second roller 81b support from below the reel RL held in the position indicated by the two-dot chain circle in Fig. 7(b) (hereinafter referred to as the first position H1A). The first position H1A is located near the insertion opening 71A of the reel holder 51A and holds the reel RL with at least a part of it inserted between the pair of guide plates 61.
[0034] 7(b) (hereinafter referred to as second position H2A) from moving to the outlet 72A. The second position H2A is located midway along the movement path WA of the reel RL from the first position H1A to the outlet 72A, and is located lower than the first position H1A. The second roller 81b prevents the reel RL located at the first position H1A from moving along the movement path WA to the second position H2A.
[0035] In this way, the second roller 81b comes into contact with the outer periphery of the reel RL located at the first position H1A, and serves as a first contact portion that prevents the reel RL located at the first position H1A from moving to the second position H2A. The third roller 81c comes into contact with the outer periphery of the reel RL located at the second position H2A, and serves as a second contact portion that prevents the reel RL located at the second position H2A from moving to the outlet.
[0036] 7(b), when the swinging member 52 is in the second state, the second roller 81b and the third roller 81c move to positions that do not prevent the reel RL from moving along the movement path WA. This allows the reel RL from the first position H1A to move to the second position H2A, and the reel RL from the second position H2A to move to the discharge opening 72A. In other words, by changing from the first state to the second state, the swinging member 52 retracts the second roller 81b (first contact portion) and the third roller 81c (second contact portion) from positions that prevent the movement of the reel RL.
[0037] 7(b), a coil spring 82 that maintains the swinging member 52 in the first state by its elastic force is provided in a position near the insertion opening 71A inside the reel holder 51A. The elastic force of the coil spring 82 is set to a magnitude that does not cause the swinging member 52 to swing under its own weight even when the reel RL fully loaded with the carrier tape CT is held at the first position H1A and the second position H2A. However, when an external force acts on the swinging member 52 with a magnitude that does not allow the swinging member 52 to maintain the first state by its elastic force, the swinging member 52 swings about the shaft 52a against the elastic force of the coil spring 82.
[0038] In FIG. 7(b), a reel presser 83 is provided at the first position H1A of the reel holder 51A. The reel presser 83 is composed of a presser spring 83a and a presser roller 83b. The upper end of the presser spring 83a is fixed to the reel holder 51A, and the presser roller 83b is attached to the lower end of the presser spring 83a. Therefore, when the presser roller 83b is pressed from below, the presser spring 83a is compressed, and a biasing force is generated in the presser spring 83a to return the presser roller 83b to its original position. When the component supply unit 22 pulls out the carrier tape CT from the reel RL installed at the first position H1A, the reel RL may be pulled up by the carrier tape CT, but the reel presser 83 prevents the reel RL from being lifted. The insertion opening 71A of the reel holder 51A is located between the first roller 81a and the presser roller 83b of the reel presser 83.
[0039] 6 and 7(b), a hook 91 is provided at the upper center of the reel holder 51A. The hook 91 is attached to the guide plate 61 by a screw or the like with a part of the hook 91 sandwiched between the pair of guide plates 61. The hook 91 is engaged with the front support bar 48 of the dolly 31, and the first reel holding device 32A is attached in a state of being suspended from the front support bar 48. In addition, a posture stabilizing roller 92 is provided at the lower end of the first reel holding device 32A. This posture stabilizing roller 92 is provided for the purpose of stabilizing the posture of the first reel holding device 32A when the first reel holding device 32A is attached in a state of being suspended from the front support bar 48, and stabilizes the posture of the first reel holding device by abutting against the connecting bar 46 of the dolly 31. A connecting bar 93 is provided at the rear of the first reel holding device 32A. The connecting bar 93 is a rod-shaped member extending in the X direction, and is fixed in a state of being sandwiched between the pair of guide plates 61. Here, the front support bar 48 and the rear support bar 49 provided on the cart 31 serve as reel holding device mounting sections to which multiple reel holding devices 32 (first reel holding device 32A and second reel holding device 32B) can be detachably mounted.
[0040] Next, the second reel holding device 32B will be described with reference to Figs. 8(a) and (b). The same reference numerals are used to denote components having the same structure as the first reel holding device 32A, and detailed description thereof will be omitted. The second reel holding device 32B includes a reel holder 51B that holds a reel RL, a plurality of rollers 81 that contact the held reel RL to determine the position of the reel RL in the reel holder 51B, and an interlocking unit 80 that interlocks the plurality of rollers 81. As shown in Figs. 8(a) and (b), the reel holder 51B includes a pair of guide plates 64 that face each other in the X direction, a spacer 65, a third guide member 66, and a connecting hook 94. The interlocking unit 80 is the same as that described in the description of the first reel holding device 32A.
[0041] The spacer 65, the third guide member 66, and the connecting hook 94 are provided between the two guide plates 64, and maintain the gap between the two guide plates 64 at a constant size (slightly larger than the axial dimension of the reel RL). These members function as spacers that maintain the gap between the two guide plates 64 at a constant size. The third guide member 66 is located below the pair of guide plates 64. The upper surface of the third guide member 66 forms an inclined surface 66M facing backward. The reel holder 51B is capable of holding the reel RL in the space surrounded by the pair of guide plates 64, the spacer 65, the third guide member 66, and the connecting hook 94.
[0042] In Fig. 8(b), the reel holder 51B has an insertion opening 71B through which the reel RL is inserted and an ejection opening 72B through which the reel RL is ejected. The insertion opening 71B is located at the upper rear side of the reel holder 51B, and the insertion opening 71B is located at the lower rear side of the reel holder 51B. The reel RL inserted from the insertion opening 71B can move to the ejection opening 72B while being guided between a pair of guide plates 64 by the connecting hook 94 and a third guide member 63 (guide member). In other words, the reel holder 51B has a movement path WB (Fig. 8(b), dashed arrow) for the reel RL formed by the pair of guide plates 64, the connecting hook 94, and the third guide member 66.
[0043] In FIG. 8(b), a linking unit 80 that links multiple rollers 81 is attached to the reel holder 51B. This linking unit 80 has the same structure as that equipped in the first reel holding device 32A, and is composed of a swinging member 52 and a coil spring 82. The swinging member 52 has a rotation range restricted by an arc-shaped guide groove 64g formed in a guide plate 64, and can swing within the range restricted by the guide groove 64g. As a result, the swinging member 52 in the second reel holding device 32B can also take a position shown by a solid line in FIG. 8(b) (first state) and a position shown by a broken line (second state). When the position of the swinging member 52 changes between the first state and the second state, the positions of the three rollers 81 also change.
[0044] 8(b), when the swinging member 52 is in the first state, the first roller 81a and the second roller 81b support from below the reel RL held at the first position H1B. The first position H1B is located near the insertion opening 71B of the reel holder 51B, and holds the reel RL with at least a part of it inserted between the pair of guide plates 64. The third roller 81c prevents the reel RL held at the second position H2B from moving to the discharge opening 72B. The second position H2B is located midway along the movement path WB of the reel RL from the first position H1B to the discharge opening 72B, and is located at a lower position than the first position.
[0045] The second roller 81b prevents the reel RL located at the first position H1B from moving along the movement path WB to the second position H2B. In the second reel holding device 32B, the second roller 81b also abuts against the outer periphery of the reel RL located at the first position H1B, and serves as a first abutment portion that prevents the reel RL located at the first position H1B from moving to the second position H2B, and the third roller 81c abuts against the outer periphery of the reel RL located at the second position H2B, and serves as a second abutment portion that prevents the reel RL located at the second position H2B from moving to the exit.
[0046] 8(b), when the swinging member 52 is in the second state, the second roller 81b and the third roller 81c move to positions that do not prevent the reel RL from moving along the movement path WB. This allows the reel RL from the first position H1B to move to the second position H2B, and the reel RL from the second position H2B to move to the discharge opening 72B. In other words, by changing from the first state to the second state, the swinging member 52 retracts the second roller 81b (first contact portion) and the third roller 81c (second contact portion) from positions that prevent the movement of the reel RL.
[0047] 8(b), a reel presser 83 is provided at the first position H1B of the reel holder 51B. The reel presser 83 is composed of a presser spring 83a and a presser roller 83b. The function of the reel presser 83 has been described in the explanation of the first reel holding device 32A, so a description thereof will be omitted.
[0048] 6 and 8(b), a connecting hook 94 is provided at the front end of the reel holder 51B (the pair of guide plates 61) of the second reel holding device 32B. A hook 95 is provided at the rear end of the second reel holding device 32B. The connecting hook 94 and the hook 95 are attached to the guide plates 64 by screws or the like at a position sandwiched between the pair of guide plates 64. The hook 95 is engaged with the rear support bar 49 of the dolly 31, and is a part mounted on the rear support bar 49. The connecting hook 94 engages with the connecting bar 93 of the first reel holding device 32A. That is, the second reel holding device 32B is attached to the dolly 31 while being supported by the rear support bar 49 and the connecting bar 93 of the first reel holding device 32A.
[0049] When mounting the first reel holding device 32A and the second reel holding device 32B on the dolly 31, the worker first mounts the first reel holding device 32A on the dolly 31. When mounting the first reel holding device 32A on the dolly 31, the hook 91 is engaged with the front support bar 48 of the dolly 31, and the posture stabilizing roller 92 is brought into contact with the connecting bar 46 of the dolly 31 from behind (FIG. 9). The center of gravity of the first reel holding device 32A is located behind the position directly below the front support bar 48, and the first reel holding device 32A with the hook 91 engaged with the front support bar 48 and the posture stabilizing roller 92 in contact with the connecting bar 46 is in a state where the posture stabilizing roller 92 is pressed against the connecting bar 46 by its own weight, and is therefore stably supported by the dolly 31.
[0050] After the first reel holding device 32A is attached to the dolly 31 as described above, the worker engages the connecting hook 94 with the connecting bar 93 of the first reel holding device 32A from above, and engages the hook 95 with the rear support bar 49 of the dolly 31 from above (FIG. 10). This brings the second reel holding device 32B into a state in which it is stably supported by the dolly 31. A portion of the second reel holding device 32B is directly supported by the dolly 31 (more specifically, the rear support bar 49), while the other portion is indirectly supported by the dolly 31 via the first reel holding device 32A attached to the dolly 31 (more specifically, the connecting bar 93).
[0051] 5 and 6, the front support bar 48 and the rear support bar 49 are round bars with smooth surfaces. Therefore, the hook 91 of the first reel holding device 32A is slidable along the X-axis while engaged with the front support bar 48. Similarly, the hook 95 of the second reel holding device 32B is slidable along the X-axis while engaged with the rear support bar 49. Therefore, the first reel holding device 32A and the second reel holding device 32B are slidable in the direction along the X-axis relative to the cart 31. Therefore, the base body (cart 31) includes a reel holding device support section (front support bar 48 and rear support bar 49) that supports a plurality of reel holding devices 32 arranged in a parallel direction in which a plurality of component supply units 22 are arranged in parallel, and the reel holding device support section supports the reel holding devices 32 slidably in the parallel direction. With this configuration, the first reel holding device 32A and the second reel holding device 32B can be slid to change their positions in the X direction even after they are attached to the cart 31. As a result, even if an operator wishes to temporarily change the position of the reel holding device 32 for work, inspection, or confirmation, the operator does not need to remove the reel holding device 32 from the cart 31, and can simply slide it along the front support bar 48 or the rear support bar 49.
[0052] 3, the feeder cart 21 of the component supplying device 1B has a receiving space 21S in its center that is open to the rear. The feeder cart 21 also has a horizontal bar 21B extending in the X direction at its rear, and a pair of left and right connecting pins 21P extending downward are provided on the lower surface of the horizontal bar 21B.
[0053] When connecting the carrier tape supplying device 1C to the feeder cart 21 of the component supplying device 1B, the worker first positions the carrier tape supplying device 1C behind the feeder cart 21 as shown in Fig. 11. After positioning the carrier tape supplying device 1C behind the feeder cart 21, the worker moves the carrier tape supplying device 1C closer to the feeder cart 21 (Fig. 12(a) → Fig. 12(b)). As a result, the leading portion of the carrier tape supplying device 1C (leading portions of the left and right dolly bases 41) advances toward the inside of the feeder cart 21 with the inner surfaces of the left and right alignment parts 55 being guided by the outer surfaces of the feeder cart 21.
[0054] As carrier tape supplying device 1C advances toward the inside of feeder cart 21, the leading end of carrier tape supplying device 1C is positioned in the lateral direction (X direction) relative to feeder cart 21 by left and right alignment units 55. Then, as carrier tape supplying device 1C advances further, connecting bar 46 of dolly 31 abuts against a predetermined position of feeder cart 21 from behind, and is positioned in the front-rear direction (Y direction).
[0055] When the dolly 31 is positioned in the Y direction relative to the feeder cart 21, the left and right connecting pins 21P provided on the feeder cart 21 are inserted between the left and right gripping members 47S of the left and right chuck mechanisms 47 provided on the carrier tape supplying device 1C. As a result, the left and right connecting pins 21P are chucked by the left and right chuck mechanisms 47 (FIG. 13), and the carrier tape supplying device 1C becomes connected to the feeder cart 21 (FIG. 12(b)).
[0056] 2, when the carrier tape supplying device 1C is connected to the feeder cart 21, the first reel holding device 32A is inserted into the receiving space 21S of the feeder cart 21. When the carriage 31 is pulled backward away from the feeder cart 21 from the state in which the connecting pin 21P is chucked by the chuck mechanism 47 in this manner, the left and right gripping members 47S are pushed open by the connecting pin 21P, the chuck is released, and the carriage 31 can be separated from the feeder cart 21.
[0057] Next, a procedure for holding a reel RL in the first reel holding device 32A and a procedure for discharging the held reel RL from the first reel holding device 32A will be described with reference to Figures 14(a), (b), (c) and 15(a), (b), (c). Figures 14(a), (b), (c) and 15(a), (b), (c) use the first reel holding device 32A as an example, but the second reel holding device 32B can also hold a reel RL and discharge the reel RL in the same manner.
[0058] When a reel RL is to be held in the first reel holding device 32A that does not hold a reel RL, first, the reel RL to be the current reel RL1 is inserted into the insertion opening 71A of the reel holder 51A (arrow S shown in FIG. 14(a)). Then, the reel RL is supported by the first roller 81a and the second roller 81b mounted on the swinging member 52 in the first state (FIG. 14(a)). In this way, the reel holder 51A holds the reel RL in the first position H1A.
[0059] Since the outer periphery of the reel RL located in the first position is stably held by the three rollers 81 (the first roller 81a, the second roller 81b and the pressure roller 83b), even if the carrier tape CT is pulled out from this state, the reel RL does not move in that direction, but rotates in place to pay out the carrier tape CT. Also, when the swinging member 52 is in the first state, the second roller 81b and the third roller 81c are located at positions that prevent the reel RL from moving along the movement path WA.
[0060] When the operator pushes the reel RL into the reel holder 51A from a state in which the reel RL is held in the first position H1A (arrow P shown in FIG. 14(b)), an external force acts on the second roller 81b. This causes the swinging member 52 to swing in a forward downward direction against the elastic force of the coil spring 82, and the second roller 81b also moves (FIG. 14(b)). That is, the second roller 81b moves to a position where it does not interfere with the movement of the reel RL, and at the same time, the swinging member 52 changes its position from the first state to the second state. As a result, when the reel RL passes above the second roller 81b, it falls by its own weight onto the inclined surface 63M of the second guide member 63 (FIG. 14(c)).
[0061] When the reel RL passes above the second roller 81b, the swinging member 52 returns from the second state to the first state due to the elastic force of the coil spring 82 (FIG. 14(c)). With this return, the third roller 81c also returns to a position that prevents the reel RL from moving. Therefore, the reel RL that rolls on the inclined surface 63M and attempts to move toward the discharge opening 72A comes into contact with the returned third roller 81c and stops (FIG. 14(c)).
[0062] The reel RL thus moved from the first position H1A along the movement path WA is held at the second position H2A where it abuts against the inclined surface 63M and the third roller 81c. Since the outer periphery of the reel RL positioned at the second position is stably supported by the inclined surface 63M and the third roller 81c, even if the carrier tape CT is pulled out from this state, the reel RL does not move in that direction, but rotates in place to pay out the carrier tape CT.
[0063] Once the reel RL (current reel RL1) is positioned at the second position as described above, the operator then inserts a new reel RL (refill reel RL2) into the insertion opening 71A of the reel holder 51A (arrow S shown in FIG. 15(a)). The refill reel RL2 inserted into the insertion opening 71A is held at the first position in the manner described above (FIG. 15(a)). In this state, the current reel RL1 is held at the second position, and the refill reel RL2 is held at the first position.
[0064] When the operator pushes the refill reel RL2 forward, the second roller 81b moves to a position where it does not interfere with the movement of the reel RL, and at the same time, the swinging member 52 changes its position from the first state to the second state. The third roller 81c also moves in conjunction with the movement of the second roller 81b to a position where it does not interfere with the movement of the reel RL (FIG. 15(b)). As a result, the current reel RL1, which had been prevented from falling by the third roller 81c, rolls down the inclined surface 63M and is discharged from the discharge port 72A of the reel holder 51A (FIG. 15(b)).
[0065] In addition, the refill reel RL2 drops downward after passing the second roller 81b, and moves to the second position H2A where the current reel RL1 was discharged. Then, the movement is prevented (positioned at the second position) by the returned third roller 81c (FIG. 15(c)), and the state is the same as that of FIG. 14(c).
[0066] As described above, the reel holding device 32 (first reel holding device 32A, second reel holding device 32B) in this embodiment has an insertion opening 71 (71A, 71B) and an outlet 72 (72A, 72B) located below the insertion opening 71 and through which the reel RL is discharged, and includes reel holders 51 (51A, 51B) capable of holding one reel RL at each of a first position H1 (H1A, H1B) near the insertion opening 71 and a second position H2 (H2A, H2B) located on the movement path W (WA, WB) of the reel RL from the first position H1 to the outlet 72, and a first The reel RL is provided with a first contact portion (second roller 81b) that contacts the outer periphery of the reel RL located at position H1 to prevent the reel RL from moving to the second position H2, a second contact portion (third roller 81c) that prevents the reel RL located at the second position H2 from moving to the discharge opening 72, and an interlocking portion 80 (swinging member 52, coil spring 82) that interlocks the first contact portion (second roller 81b) and the second contact portion (third roller 81c) to move the first contact portion (second roller 81b) and the second contact portion (third roller 81c) away from the position that prevents the movement of the reel RL.
[0067] The third roller 81c retracts and returns from the position that blocks the movement of the reel RL in conjunction with the movement of the second roller 81b by the interlocking portion 80. Therefore, the reel holding device 32 in this embodiment is capable of moving the reel RL from the first position H1 to the second position H2 and ejecting the reel RL from the second position H2 with an operation of pushing the reel RL located at the first position H1 to the second position H2, i.e., with a "single action."
[0068] Therefore, when an operator wishes to eject a reel RL held at the second position on the far side of the reel holder 51 as seen from the operator, the operator need only swing the swinging member 52, and can retrieve the reel RL at any timing. As shown in Fig. 15(a), when reels RL are held at both the first position H1 and the second position H2, and only the reel RL located at the second position H2 is retrieved, the reel RL located at the first position H1 should be pressed toward the inside of the reel holder 51, but when the operator wishes to retrieve the reel RL located at the first position H1 as well, the operator should first pull out the refill reel RL2 backward from the insertion port 71, and then set the swinging member 52 to the second state.
[0069] Here, the reel RL held by the first reel holding device 32A and the reel RL held by the second reel holding device 32B are reels RL that feed the carrier tape CT to two component supply units 22 mounted adjacent to each other in the X direction of the feeder base 21F. Therefore, for example, if the reel RL held by the first reel holding device 32A feeds the carrier tape CT to the component supply unit 22 located in front of it, the reel RL held by the second reel holding device 32B feeds the carrier tape CT to the component supply unit 22 located adjacent to it.
[0070] In this embodiment, as shown in Fig. 5, the width direction dimension T of the first reel holding device 32A and the second reel holding device 32B is larger than the width direction dimension U1 of one component supply unit 22, but is equal to or smaller than the width direction dimension U2 of the space occupied by the two component supply units 22 mounted adjacent to each other on the feeder base 21F. Therefore, by arranging the first reel holding device 32A and the second reel holding device 32B in series in the feed direction of the carrier tape CT, it is possible to arrange a plurality of reels RL required for the two component supply units 22 within the width direction dimension U2. Therefore, it is not necessary to increase the width direction dimension of the carrier tape supply device 1C that supplies the reels RL required for all the component supply units 22 mounted on the feeder base 21F, and the carrier tape supply device 1C can be configured compactly.
[0071] 12(b) and 13, a procedure will be described for setting a reel RL in two reel holding devices 32 (first reel holding device 32A and second reel holding device 32B) provided in carrier tape supplying device 1C in a state in which carrier tape supplying device 1C is connected to feeder cart 21 of component supplying device 1B so that component supplying unit 22 can perform a component supply operation. In this case, an operator first makes the two reel holding devices hold a reel RL.
[0072] To do this, first, the reels RL are inserted into the insertion openings 71 of the reel holders 51 of the two reel holding devices 32, and the reels RL are held in the first positions H1 of the reel holders 51 (FIG. 16). Once the reels RL are held in the first positions H1 of the reel holders 51, the worker pulls out the carrier tape CT from each reel RL and inserts its leading end into the tape insertion opening 22G at the rear of the corresponding component supply unit 22 (FIG. 17).
[0073] The component supply unit 22 into which the leading end of the carrier tape CT has been inserted starts to pull in the carrier tape CT. As a result, the reel RL held in the first position of each reel holder 51 is pulled forward (toward the component supply unit 22) through the carrier tape CT. The reel RL rotates at the first position H1, and unwinds the carrier tape CT without moving from the first position H1.
[0074] When the carrier tape CT with the leading end inserted is pulled in by the component supply unit 22, the operator pushes the reel RL held at the first position H1 toward the back (front) of the reel holder 51 (see P shown in FIG. 14(b)). This causes the swing member 52 to swing in the clockwise direction in FIG. 17 (FIG. 18), and the reel RL falls to the second position H2A. The reel RL at the second position H2 is supported by the second guide member 63, and is prevented from moving to the discharge port 72 by the third roller 81c. The reel RL (current reel RL1) positioned at the second position H2 continues to have the carrier tape CT pulled by the component supply unit 22, but the reel RL rotates at the second position H2 and unwinds the carrier tape CT without moving from the second position H2.
[0075] After the worker positions the current reel RL1 at the second position in each of the first reel holding device 32A and the second reel holding device 32B, the worker inserts a new reel RL (replenishment reel RL2) into the insertion port 71 of the reel holder 51 of each of the first reel holding device 32A and the second reel holding device 32B (FIG. 20). When the replenishment reel RL2 is thus held in the first position H1 of each reel holder 51, the worker pulls out the carrier tape CT from each replenishment reel RL2 and inserts its leading end into the tape insertion port 22G at the rear of the corresponding component supply unit 22 (FIG. 21).
[0076] When the supply of components BH by the component supply unit 22 progresses and the current reel RL1 runs out of components and becomes a used reel RL, the component supply unit 22 switches the target to be pulled in to the carrier tape CT being unwound from the refill reel RL2 held at the first position H1, and continues to supply components BH (FIG. 22). When the operator moves the refill reel RL2 to the first position H1 and removes the used reel RL from the second position H2, the operator pushes the refill reel RL2 forward, i.e., toward the second position H2 (see arrow P shown in FIG. 15(b)).
[0077] When the operator pushes the refill reel RL2 forward, the swinging member 52 swings against the elastic force of the coil spring 82 (FIG. 23). As a result, the third roller 81c also moves in conjunction with the movement of the second roller 81b to a position where it does not interfere with the movement of the reel RL. Then, the used reel RL (current reel RL1) held at the second position rolls on the inclined surface 63M and is discharged from the discharge port 72 to the outside of the reel holder 51 (FIG. 23). Also, the refill reel RL2 held at the first position drops and moves to the second position (FIG. 23). The state where the refill reel RL2 is positioned at the second position is the same as that shown in FIG. 19 (however, the refill reel RL2 positioned at the second position becomes the new current reel RL1), so the component supply unit 22 can continue to supply components by repeatedly executing the same operations.
[0078] In this way, the reel holding device 32 provided in the component mounting device 1 of the present embodiment is provided with a swinging member 52 that holds the reel RL at the first position H1 and the second position H2 of the reel holder 51 in the first state, and positions the second roller 81b and the third roller 81c in positions that prevent the reel RL from moving, and that moves the second roller 81b and the third roller 81c away from the positions that prevent the reel RL from moving when the first state is changed to the second state. That is, the swinging member 52 is an interlocking member that interlocks the second roller 81b and the third roller 81c. Therefore, when the second roller 81b is pushed by the reel RL and moves, the third roller 81c also moves in conjunction with the movement. As a result, the reel RL, whose movement was restricted by the second roller 81b and the third roller 81c, becomes movable, the reel RL in the second position is discharged to the discharge port 72, and the reel RL in the first position H1 moves to the second position H2.
[0079] In this manner, in the reel holding device 32 of the present embodiment, the rocking member 52 that rocks within the reel holder 51 is used as the interlocking member, so that the second roller 81b and the third roller 81c can be interlocked with a small number of parts. In addition, the interlocking section 80 including the interlocking member is actuated by receiving an external force, so that the reel RL can be discharged at the timing intended by the worker. Therefore, in the parts replenishing operation that utilizes the information attached to the empty reel RL, the operational error of mistaking the empty reel RL can be reduced.
[0080] In a configuration in which a reel is supported via a carrier tape, as in the conventional reel holding device described in Patent Document 1, the entire weight of the reel acts on the carrier tape, so there is a risk that a great deal of friction acts on the surface of the carrier tape pulled out from the reel, causing parts to break, or that parts may be damaged by static electricity generated by friction. In addition, there is a risk that the feed motor of the component supply unit that pulls in the carrier tape may break down due to an excessive load, or that its service life may be shortened. In contrast, in the reel holding device 32 of the present embodiment, the roller 81 that supports the reel RL does not support the reel RL by contacting the carrier tape CT wound around the reel RL, so there is no friction on the carrier tape CT due to the weight of the reel RL or the carrier tape CT, and there is no risk of damaging the carrier tape CT.
[0081] Furthermore, in the carrier tape supplying device 1C of the present embodiment, two reel holding devices 32 are arranged side by side in the feed direction (Y direction) of the carrier tape CT and are mounted on the dolly 31 in a mutually connected state. This allows the widthwise dimension T (FIG. 5) to be smaller than when two reel holding devices 32 are arranged side by side in the widthwise direction (X direction) of the carrier tape CT, and even if the number of component supplying units 22 mounted on the feeder base 21F increases and the number of reels RL to be held increases accordingly, the carrier tape supplying device 1C can be prevented from becoming large in size.
[0082] Furthermore, one of the two reel holding devices 32 (first reel holding device 32A) is supported by the dolly 31, while the other of the two reel holding devices 32 (second reel holding device 32B) is supported by the first reel holding device 32A, which is one of the reel holding devices 32, and the dolly 31. In other words, the first reel holding device 32A functions as a support member that supports a part of the second reel holding device 32B, and the configuration of the dolly 31 can be simplified accordingly, which also prevents the carrier tape supplying device 1C from becoming large.
[0083] As described above, the reel holding device 32 (first reel holding device 32A, second reel holding device 32B) in this embodiment has an insertion opening 71 (71A, 71B, 71B) and an outlet 72 (72A, 72B) located below the insertion opening 71 and through which the reel RL is discharged, and has reel holders 51 (51A, 51B) capable of holding one reel RL at each of a first position H1 (H1A, H1B) near the insertion opening 71 and a second position H2 (H2A, H2B) located on the movement path W (WA, WB) of the reel RL from the first position H1 to the outlet 72. ), a first contact portion (second roller 81b) that contacts the outer periphery of the reel RL located at the first position H1 to prevent the reel RL from moving to the second position H2, a second contact portion (third roller 81c) that prevents the reel RL located at the second position H2 from moving to the discharge opening 72, and an interlocking portion (swinging member 52, coil spring 82) that interlocks the first contact portion (second roller 81b) and the second contact portion (third roller 81c) to move the first contact portion (second roller 81b) and the second contact portion (third roller 81c) away from the position that prevents the movement of the reel RL.
[0084] The third roller 81c is interlocked with the movement of the second roller 81b by the interlocking portion to retract and return from the position that prevents the movement of the reel RL. Therefore, the reel holding device 32 in this embodiment is capable of moving the reel RL from the first position H1 to the second position H2 and ejecting the reel RL from the second position H2 by the operation of pushing the reel RL located at the first position H1 to the second position H2, i.e., by a "single action."
[0085] In addition, by using the swinging member 52 for the interlocking member that constitutes the interlocking portion 80, the reel RL can be held and discharged with a small number of parts. Moreover, the reel RL can be discharged at any timing. Therefore, in a part replenishing operation involving part matching, an empty reel RL can be discharged at any timing of the worker (for example, the timing when the reel RL is moved from the first position H1 to the second position H2), so there is no need to worry about mixing up the empty reel RL used for part matching.
[0086] Although the embodiment of the present invention has been described so far, the present invention is not limited to the above, and various modifications are possible. For example, in the above embodiment, the swinging member 52 has a substantially Y-shape as a whole, but it may be of any type as long as it can move the first contact portion (second roller 81b) and the second contact portion (third roller 81c) in conjunction with each other to retract the reel RL from the position where the reel RL is prevented from moving. In addition, in the present embodiment, the swinging member 52 is described as an example of an interlocking member, but as long as it is a mechanism that can move the first contact portion (second roller 81b) and the second contact portion (third roller 81c) in conjunction with each other to retract the reel RL from the position where the reel RL is prevented from moving, it may be a combination of components such as members that perform movements other than swinging, links, and cams.
[0087] In addition, in the above-described embodiment, the first reel holding device 32A of the two reel holding devices 32 is supported by the cart 31, and the second reel holding device 32B is supported by the first reel holding device 32A and the cart 31. However, the second reel holding device 32B may be supported by the cart 31, and the first reel holding device 32A may be supported by the second reel holding device 32B and the cart 31.
[0088] It goes without saying that the reel holding device 32 and the component mounting device 1 in this embodiment can also be used under operations that do not require component matching when replenishing components, and component matching is not a required component. [Industrial Applicability]
[0089] The present invention can be used in a reel holding device that holds a carrier tape wound around a reel, and in a component mounting device that removes components from the carrier tape unwound from the reel held by the reel holding device and mounts them on a board.
