Abstract
Description
[0001] Central heating induction boiler
[0002] The subject matter of the invention is an induction boiler for central heating of residential and industrial buildings and public buildings.
[0003] The design according to the invention makes use of the phenomenon of
[0004] Electromagnetic Induction, which is based on the generation of an electromotive force in a conductor due to changes in the magnetic field flux. This change may be due to changes in the magnetic field or the relative movement of the conductor and the source of the magnetic field.
[0005] Electromagnetic induction is now the main basis for the operation of many electrical devices such as generators, power generating units, transformers, induction motorsand induction boilers.
[0006] An induction boiler is an electric boiler in which the material heats up due to the flow of eddy currents induced by the phenomenon of electromagnetic induction.
[0007] The alternating current flowing through the primary winding, known as inductor, which is usually a cylindrical coil, produces a time-varying magnetic field in the surrounding space (so also in the charge). In turn, the alternating magnetic field induces an electromotive force in the secondary circuit, which is the conductive charge material, electromotive force, also with a time-varying value. Due to the closed secondary circuit, the induced electromotive force forces a time-varying electric current to flow. The flowing induction current is converted into heat as a result of resistance of the load.
[0008] An induction heating coil is a device used to heat materials by means of induction. It consists of an electrical conductor wound around a core or frame.
[0009] When an alternating current flows through it, an electromagnetic field is generated that induces an eddy current in the material to be heated, causing it to heat.
[0010] In the search for highly efficient, effective, emission-free and environmentally friendly ways of heating buildings and spaces, the possibilities afforded by the use of electromagnetic induction have led to an increased interest in the use of electromagnetic induction heating in central heating systems.
[0011] From the Chinese utility model CN2149336 (U), an electromagnetic heating device of a central heating network is known, which includes a heating cylinder body, a coil which is wound on the outer surface of the heating cylinder body, and brackets which are permanently connected to the two sides of the lower part of the heating cylinder body respectively, while electromagnetic induction heaters are permanently connected to the bottoms of the brackets. The unit has an operating panel, installed on the front surface of the electromagnetic induction heater, and the water outlet pipe is installed on the left side of the heating cylinder body, while the second inlet pipe is installed on the right side of the heating cylinder body. The radiator is installed in the body of the heating cylinder and the connecting mechanism is installed at the right end of the second water inlet pipe; the first water inlet pipe is installed on the right side of the connecting mechanism. Through the use of a first water blocking plate and a second water blocking plate, the velocity of the water flow is slowed down, the inflow water can be completely heated, the connection between the clamps, the ring and the clamping cover are effectively fixed through the triangular stop hole, and the effectiveness of the sealing of the pipeline joint is effectively guaranteed.
[0012] In contrast, the Chinese utility model CN208735718 (U) relates to the use of induction heating and a thermal tank in a single device. It is a comprehensive system that allows the use of induction heating and heat storage. This allows you to effectively use a tariff with differential electricity rates at different times. This utility model uses a thermal tank that acts as a closed energy storage container. The upper part of the thermal tank is equipped with an outlet valve, as well as a return inlet for water. The lower part of the tank has a delivery opening. A high-temperature cable is wound around the outer wall of the thermal tank, the end of which is connected to a control module containing a variable-frequency induction unit. The thermal tank is also fitted with insulation to minimise heat loss. There is also a temperature sensor on the thermal tank that monitors the temperature of the water inside the tank. The control module is used to control the operation of the induction unit and manage heat storage. The design is widely used in the field of central heating systems. It is a solution for using electricity in an efficient way, while storing heat and using it at appropriate times. From the Chinese utility model CN207162944 (U), an all-in-one formula solution for heat storage using induction heating is known, which relates to the efficient use of the difference in electricity prices during peak and off-peak periods and the provision of electricity for storage in the grain energy section. The solution includes a thermal tank that acts as a sealed container for energy storage. The upper end of the thermal tank is equipped with a drain valve, as well as a return inlet for water. The lower end of the thermal tank has a delivery opening. A high- temperature cable is wound around the outer wall of the thermal tank. The end of the high-temperature cable is connected to the control module, which contains a variable-frequency induction unit. The thermal tank is also fitted with insulation to prevent heat loss. A temperature sensor is placed on the thermal tank to monitor the temperature of the water inside the tank. The control module is used to control the operation of the variable frequency induction unit.
[0013] International patent application W02009137895 (A2) discloses an induction central water heating system having a system equipped with a transformer, having a secondary winding wound around the primary winding, which draws cold water that simultaneously cools said transformer. This water is then directed to the hot water tank, from where it is diverted to the hot plate, through which it flows through channels connected by a conductive element. During this process, the water is heated by the Joule effect. The hob is configured with the poles coming from the induction connections. The system can also be used in showers and heating products in general. From the Chinese utility model CN203785055 (U), a high-power inductiontype central heating system is known, which consists of a heating device in which a water outlet is formed in the upper part. The heating unit is connected to the water inlets of the heating equipment via a heat pipe and a supply pipe, and a water inlet is located at the bottom of the heating unit; the water outlets of the heating unit are connected via a water return pipe so that a circulating heating system is formed; the heating unit includes a box and at least one heating unit, which includes heating bodies, heat sinks, main high frequency machines and heaters. The utility model can be widely used in the field of central heating installation technology.
[0014] The Chinese patent application CN112996162 (A) describes a central heating radiator based on electromagnetic induction heating and a method of detecting the temperature field. The electromagnetic induction heater consists of a first, fixed heating unit and a second heating unit. One end of the first heating unit is connected to one end of the second heating unit. On the end surface of the first heating unit, close to the second heating unit, there is a groove in which the temperature sensor is placed. The invention also provides a temperature field detection method suitable for a central heating body. Multiple and evenly spaced thermocouples are placed on the outer surface of the central heating body, at specific intervals in the axial direction. The thermocouples are independently connected to a data acquisition device that collects temperature data and displays it. The computer receives the temperature data from the collection device and stores it.
[0015] The following is known from US patent application US201627969O Al, an induction heating coil and a device for producing a processed element.
[0016] An induction heating coil for stable heating of steel pipes that are run in the axial direction without rotation, where the heating is uniform in the circumferential direction and within a narrow range in the axial direction, comprises at least two single-circuit coils in the form of a first coil and a second coil. The inner perimeter length Ln (ineffective coil length), where the effective number of coil windings is less than the total number of windings when the coil is projected in the axial direction, and the inner perimeter length of the projected coil bodies LO (inner coil length) satisfy the condition Ln / LO <0.05. The first and second coil bodies have insulating parts at their joints, and these insulating parts are located at points separated by a central angle of between 5 and 45°, measured from the centre of the coil bodies.
[0017] Japanese patent application JP2013051182 (A) discloses an induction heating coil which includes a conductive portion configured opposite to a flat portion, which is a heated surface of an object to be heated. The conductive part has a central conductive part which corresponds to a sectoral area with a central angle equal to the first fixed angle in the area of the inner concentric circle, and corresponding circular conductive parts which correspond, when the heated surface is divided by concentric circles, to circular areas whose central angle is the first fixed angle in the areas divided by concentric circles respectively. The central conductive part and the circular conductive parts are arranged sequentially, one behind the other, outwards from the centre of the concentric circles.
[0018] On the other hand, the Chinese utility model application CN202068607 (U) discloses a heating coil panel for an induction cooker, which includes more than two magnetic strips, a coil support and a coil winding, the coil winding being wound and arranged on the coil support; the magnetic strips are permanently fixed on the coil support in a radial shape and located under the coil support ; and the coil winding is formed by connecting more than two coil layers in series or parallel and is characterised in that at least two coil layers of the more than two coil layers that form the coil winding have different outer diameters, the difference in outer diameters of the two coil layers being between 5 and 100 mm. The coil panel structure used, in which multiple layers are added to a single part, ensures that the magnetic force generated by coils with different areas is evenly distributed towards the central part of the coil panel. As a result, the overheating narrow band and the central area heating dead zone of the vessel are effectively eliminated, which significantly improves the uniformity and stability of the heating.
[0019] Japanese patent application JP2009140664 (A), on the other hand, discloses an induction heating coil formed by laminating several coil elements, each consisting of a metal, strip, spirally wound on an insulating substrate. One end of the metal strip is connected to a metal end member that is formed along the outer edge of the insulating substrate, while the other end of the metal strip is connected to a metal inner member that is formed in the central portion of the insulating substrate. The metal inner element is placed in a through hole formed in the insulating substrate. Part of the outer edge of the insulating substrate and the inner part of the through-hole are used as an electrode exit point.
[0020] Also known from Japanese patent application JP2007114062 (A) is the design of an induction heating coil and the method of manufacturing it, as well as a high-frequency heating device. The coil has an annular section, arranged around a magnetostrictive film with a defined axial width on the peripheral surface of the rotating shaft, and high-frequency heats this magnetostrictive film. The annular section is cylindrical in shape and has an axial width greater than the axial width of the magnetostrictive film, and both end holes of the annular section have a section with a small internal diameter (convex section) whose internal diameter is smaller than the internal diameter of the axial central region.
[0021] The induction boiler according to the invention has an outer metal body in the form of a container in which there is at least one ferromagnetic core, permanently connected to the body, constructed from an outer cylinder and an inner cylinder, arranged concentrically and connected from below by a common bottom, which in the interior of the inner cylinder constitutes a sieve bottom.
[0022] Several parallel flow ferromagnetic tubes are fixed in the sieve bottom, routed inside the inner cylinder. On the other hand, in the space between the inner cylinder and the outer cylinder of the ferromagnetic core, there is a cylindrical induction coil which has a shaft in the form of a section of tube made of non ferromagnetic material, terminated at the ends by resistance rings, on which is wound the winding of the induction coil, containing , advantageously, from 3 to 8 layers of windings, made of insulated copper winding wire of circular cross-section with diameters ranging from 0,95 to 5.20 mm or of insulated copper winding wire in the form of a flat bar with a cross-sectional area in the range from 1.00 to 30.00 mm2, in an insulating sheath, whereby an inner insulating layer is provided between the winding of the induction coil and its shaft, and between the winding of the induction coil and the resistance rings of the shaft (9) of the induction coil there are lateral insulating pads. Externally, the entire winding of the induction coil is covered with an outer insulating layer, whereby the free ends of the winding wire of the induction coil extending beyond the induction coil (8) are additionally protected by an insulating braid, preferably made of glass fibre. The space between the inner wall of the ferromagnetic core and the outer surface of the induction coil is filled with glass backfill in the form of microspheres or natural sand with grain diameters ranging from 40 to 900 μm.
[0023] The glass backfill inside the space surrounding the induction coil performs multiple functions simultaneously. First of all, it serves as an electrical insulator so that the induction coil is not in direct contact with the body. The backfill also acts as an acoustic and vibration isolator, ensuring quiet operation of the induction coil. An additional advantage of the glass backfill is its heat accumulation capacity, so that the heat generated by the induction coil can be stored in it and transferred to the working fluid of the central heating system during the passive operation of the unit (that is, when the working fluid is being heated without drawing electricity for the operation of the induction coil). An important function of the glass backfill is to mechanically stabilise the induction coil in the body of the device, preventing it from moving.
[0024] On the other hand, the upper part of the ferromagnetic core with the induction coil inside and the glass backfill is protected with a chemically hardening, hydrophobic, electro- and heat-insulating, sealing compound (20), whose viscosity in the unbound state at 20 °C ranges from 2000 to 20000 cP. The indicated viscosity range guarantees thorough, deep penetration and adhesion of the compound to the substrate. The sealing compound prevents moisture and boiler fluid from accidentally getting inside the ferromagnetic core, including the space in which the induction coil is embedded. In addition, the mass prevents the glass backfill from spilling out during transport, for example.
[0025] Advantageously, when a winding wire constituting a flat bar of rectangular cross-section is wound in the induction coil winding in a position perpendicular to the axis of the induction coil, with the narrower side of the flat bar facing the shaft .
[0026] The use of the winding wire in the form of a flat bar allows the crosssectional area of the winding to be increased, and the location of the winding wire in the form of a flat bar perpendicular to the axis of the induction coil allows better packing of the winding coils of the induction coil and the possibility of obtaining higher power. Due to the continuous operating conditions of the induction coil, it is advantageous if the winding wire has an insulating coating formed by a plastic film and glass fibre.
[0027] To improve the service life of the boiler, the free ends of the winding wire of the induction coil, which protrude beyond the induction coil, are additionally protected by a glass fibrebraid ,
[0028] For usability reasons, it is advantageous if the protective sealant is a chemically cured silicone resin.
[0029] In order to drain the boiler according to the invention, the metal body of the boiler can advantageously be provided with a drain valve located in the bottom of the boiler.
[0030] In order to meet the requirements of live and elevated temperature operation, the insulating materials used in the boiler design according to the invention should be suitable for continuous operation at temperatures above 200°C and should exhibit a puncture resistance above 300V.
[0031] In order to prevent overheating, the boiler according to the invention is equipped with a thermal fuse mounted outside the winding of the induction coil, advantageously operating in the temperature range from 100 to 250 °C.
[0032] The boiler according to the invention can have several ferromagnetic cores with induction coils.
[0033] In a boiler according to the invention having several ferromagnetic cores with induction coils , coils can be used, each of which is of a different power. The boiler according to the invention is equipped with external fittings, ensuring optimum operating conditions, with high safety of use, consisting of: a head, adapted to the version of the device, housing a thermometer and a valve for flow regulation, circulation pumps (2 pieces), a diaphragm vessel, for compensating pressure variations in the system, a safety group, comprising a pressure gauge system and a one-way valve for boiler relief, thermometer, nonreturn valves (2 pieces) , mesh filter, installation pipe set, bleeder valve.
[0034] The induction boiler according to the invention is equipped with a control system, located in the housing directly at the body. The control system controls and monitors the unit's operating parameters for both heating and safety. The entire control system consists of: overcurrent circuit breaker, temperature regulator with sensor, electromagnetic relays used to control the induction coil power supply system and the circulating pump power supply system, programmer for setting the operating time of the unit at any time (days, weeks, etc.), modular contactors for starting and stopping the induction coil operation, fuse disconnectors with fuse links, power control lights for indicating the presence of boiler fluid in the unit and for indicating the the correct supply from the electrical system, an undervoltage sensor to protect the unit against voltage drop or rise in the electrical system, a pressure transducer to monitor the pressure of the boiler fluid in the unit, a supply cable that may be fitted with a plug.
[0035] Due to the design of the boiler according to the invention, there may be several ferromagnetic cores inside the body, depending on the needs for the operation of the central heating system connected to the induction boiler according to the invention.
[0036] The number of induction coils directly affects the maximum power output of the boiler according to the invention. In addition, a single induction boiler according to the invention can contain induction coils of different powers.
[0037] As the number of induction coils increases, the weight of the entire induction boiler according to the invention increases, which is caused by a greater number of internal partitions, a greater amount of glass charge), as wel l as the active heat transfer surface area and the volume of the boiler and the amount of working fluid. On the other hand, an increase in the total weight of the boiler results in an increase in the accumulation properties and the amount of heat accumulated in the boiler structure (an increase in the heat accumulation capacity of the entire device), thereby increasing the reactive operating time of the appliance.
[0038] Reactive operation time is the time during which the unit heats the working fluid in the system without drawing electricity from the electrical system. Active operation time, on the other hand, is the time during which the unit heats the boiler fluid in the system while drawing electricity from the electrical system.
[0039] The greater the ratio of the boiler's passive operating time to the total boiler operating time (total reactive and active operating time of the unit), the more efficiently the electrical energy is used to heat the boiler fluid and, overall, the greater the thermal efficiency of the induction boiler according to the invention. The induction boiler according to the invention can be mounted on a rack or in a frame, which protects the components during transport and facilitates the assembly of the device.
[0040] In central heating systems using the induction boiler according to the invention, water, high-boiling, flame-retardant organic liquids and their solutions, for example water, glycols, oils, can be used as the working fluid.
[0041] The induction boiler according to the invention exhibits high energy efficiency, above 99 %, and no environmental emissions. The boiler according to the invention is characterised by its uncomplicated construction, and the absence of moving parts, which allows the device to be operated for many years. For the operation of the boiler according to the invention, working fluids unfavourable to the environment need not be used. All boiler components according to the invention can be recycled.
[0042] The boiler is used in central heating systems for buildings and structures, as well as in hybrid systems supporting gas boilers in systems handling water heat recovery and heaters, as well as supporting heat pumps and supporting solid fuel furnaces with high heating output.
[0043] The induction boiler according to the invention is shown in the manufacturing examples in the accompanying drawing, where:

[0051] An example of the implementation of the invention shows the design of a 4 kW induction boiler.
[0052] The boiler according to the invention has a metal body(l), provided with a working fluid inlet port, a working fluid outlet port and a working fluid return port.
[0053] The body (1) is closed from the top by a mechanically mounted stainless steel metal cover (2). There is a single ferromagnetic core (3) permanently welded to the body
[0054] (1) consisting of an outer cylinder (4) of 45.0 mm diameter steel tube with a wall thickness of 3.5 mm of 1.0528 steel, and a concentrically attached inner cylinder (5).
[0055] The cylinders (4, 5) are connected at the bottom by a head (6), which, inside the inner cylinder (5), is a sieve bottom in which a set of seven parallel steel flow tubes(7) with a diameter of 12.0 mm and a wall thickness of 2.0 mm in 1.0528 steel are mounted, which run lengthwise, inside the inner cylinder(S). In the space between the inner wall of the outer cylinder (4) and the outer wall of the inner cylinder (5), there is an induction coil (8), the shaft (9) of which is an AISI.304 stainless steel tube with a diameter of 48.3 mm and a wall thickness of
[0056] 1.0 mm, with two stop rings (10) made of 2.0 mm thick sheet metal placed at its ends, which serve to hold the winding (11) of the induction coil (8).
[0057] An internal insulating material (12) in the form of mica tape (micanite) is placed between the winding (11) of the induction coil (8) and its shaft (9), while
[0058] Bakelite side insulating pads (13) are placed between the winding (11) of the induction coil (8) and the resistance rings (10) of the shaft (9). Externally, th e entire winding (11) of the induction coil (8) is covered with an external insulating material
[0059] (14) in the form of mica tape (micanite), which has the additional function of protecting the winding (11) of the induction coil (8) from mechanical damage during operation.
[0060] The winding (11) of the induction coil (8) is made of insulated copper winding wire (15) PPTSD with a circular cross-section and a diameter of 2.12 mm in an insulating protective coating (16) of plastic film and glass fibre (19), which prevents electrical short circuits inside the winding (11) of the induction coil (8), arranged in layers. In the example considered, 4 layers of winding wire (15) were used in the winding of the inductor (8).
[0061] In another example of the invention, the winding (11) of the induction coil
[0062] (8) is made of copper winding wire (15) PPTSD in the form of a flat bar of rectangular cross-section 2.0 mm x 4.0 mm, arranged in four layers, perpendicular to the surface of the ferromagnetic core (3).
[0063] The free ends (16) of the winding wire (15), which protrude beyond the induction coil (8), are additionally protected by a glass fibre braid (17).
[0064] In addition to the winding (11) of the induction coil (8), the boiler according to the invention also incorporates a 25A non-resettable thermal fuse (18), which disconnects the circuit when the temperature in the boiler reaches 105°C, protecting the winding (11) of the induction coil (8) from overheating, e.g. d uring its direct connection to the electrical system.
[0065] In the slotted, circumferential, unfilled space created when the induction coil
[0066] (8) is placed between the concentric cylinders (4, 5) in the body (1) of the boiler according to the invention, there is a glass backfill (19) in the form of glass microspheres 150 to 250 μm in diameter which are full inside.
[0067] The induction coil (8) embedded in the boiler according to the invention and the glass charge (19) in the upper part of the boiler are protected by a chemically cured sealing compound (20) made of SK-790 moulding silicone with a platinum hardener, whose viscosity at 20°C in the uncured state is in the range 2000-20000 cP.
[0068] Depending on the example of the boiler design according to the invention, the boiler may contain several ferromagnetic cores (3), with induction coils (8) of different powers in the cores. From above, the body (1) of the boiler according to the invention is c losed by a cover (2) made of 2.0 mm thick AISI.304 stainless steel, which restricts the propagation of the electromagnetic field towards the head (21) containing the temperature and working fluid flow controller and towards the control system housing (5). The cover (2) is assembled by applying to the yet unbound sealant (20) and tightening with a 1-inch brass screw with a stainless steel washer over the cover
[0069] (2).
[0070] A Teflon washer is used as a seal on the screw thread of the cover (2), located under the cover (2).
[0071] The boiler according to the invention achieves its optimum operating conditions, with high operational safety, by using an exemplary external fittings system for circulating the working fluid consisting of: head (21) containing a temperature and flow controller for the working fluid, with a 1-inch brass screw, circulating pumps (23) DAB EVOSTA2 40-70 / 130 with steel half-screws, diaphragm vessel (24), compensating for pressure variations in the system, type
[0072] VAREMFLATVAREM C600893 PS 3 bar, safety group (25), including indicator and pressure sensor and safety valve, type Watts KSG 30N, thermometer (26) type
[0073] Watts with measuring range from 0 to 120 °C, non-return valves (27) 1-inch brass valves (2 pcs.), 1-inch brass mesh filter, set of PEX 32 pipes with elbows, tees and straight transitions, bleeder valve (28) -½ inch, located in the bottom of the body (1) of the boiler. The boiler control system according to the invention is housed in a casing
[0074] (22) made of powder-coated sheet steel located directly next to the boiler. The control system controls and monitors the operating parameters of the boiler according to the invention for both heating and safety. The whole of the example control system of the induction boiler according to the invention consists of: an overcurrent circuit breaker (26) HN-B10 / 1, a temperature controller with sensor RT-
[0075] 826 -25-130 °C, electromagnetic relays PK-2P 230VAC, weekly programmer (29)
[0076] PCZ-521 24-264VAC / DC 1-ch.NFC, ICT 63A 4NO 220 / 240VAC 50Hz modular contactors, Z-SLS / CB / 3 fuse disconnectors with D02 gl 400V 25A fuse links, LK-714
[0077] 130-260V 2xLED and LK-713g 3 FAZ 3xLED control lamps, CP-730 16A TH35 3P undervoltage sensor, PSM01 pressure transmitter 0.5-8bar 5-50VAC / DC, rubber insulated power cable (OnPd) H07RN-F 5G6 5x6 mm2, terminated with 023-6 PCE plug (32A 230V IP44).
[0078] The induction boiler according to the invention is intended for use in central heating systems for buildings and rooms in which the circulating working fluid is water, non-flammable organic liquids, for example glycols and their solutions.
[0079] The working fluid is supplied by pumps (23) to the boiler through an inlet port located in the body (1), filling the space between the ferromagnetic core body and the inside of the flow tubes, where it is heated by eddy currents generated in the ferromagnetic core (3) by an induction coil (8), and is then pumped through the outlet port to the central heating circulation system. Excess working fluid, intended for re-heating (e.g. for reheating) is returned via the body (1) return port back to the boiler.
[0080] Mounting the device from the technical side requires the selection of a suitable location. The induction boiler according to the invention is adapted to be placed on the ground by means of adjustable stands or to be hung on the wall by means of mounting pins / anchors / screws, depending on the substrate or wall material.
[0081] The connection of the unit to the electrical system is carried out by connecting the plug of the power cable to a previously prepared socket.
[0082] Connections of the appliance to the central heating and / or hot water system are made using 1-inch screwed connections.
[0083] Once the unit has been connected to the electrical system and the heating system filled with working fluid, the unit's operating parameters must be set in the control system according to the expectations of the user and the specifics of the building and heating system, following the guidelines of the manufacturers of the control components.
[0084] When the boiler according to the invention is started up, the induction coil
[0085] (8) generates eddy currents in the ferromagnetic core, which cause the ferromagnetic elements of the core to heat up and heat up the flow tubes (7), which transfer their heat energy to the flowing working fluid. The pumped working fluid transports thermal energy to the central heating system, which in turn gives back its energy to the environment in the heated rooms and buildings. The induction boiler according to the invention can be made in various examples of execution, differing in the number and power of the induction coils (8), as well as in structural technical features not beyond the scope of protection of the invention.
[0086] Table 1 shows a comparison of the performance and operational performance of a series of boilers, differing in the number of induction coils.
