An electrostatic fluid accelerator includes a first number of corona electrodes and a second number of accelerating electrodes spaced apart from and parallel to adjacent ones of the corona electrodes. An electrical power source is connected to supply the corona and accelerating electrodes with an operating voltage to produce a high intensity electric field in an inter-electrode space between the corona electrodes and the accelerating electrodes. The accelerating electrodes may be made of a high electrical resistivity material, each of the electrodes having mutually perpendicular length and height dimension oriented transverse to a desired fluid flow direction and a width dimension oriented parallel to the desired fluid flow direction. A length of the electrodes in a direction transverse to a desired fluid flow direction is greater than a width of the electrodes parallel to the fluid flow direction, and the width of the electrodes is at least ten times a height of the electrodes in a direction transverse to both the desired fluid flow direction and to the length.

It is also possible to make pitch of the through holes smaller and to make the heat exchanger compact.

The invention provides a high-speed and energy-saving train which can effectively prevent a fluid hole from being sealed in the motion process, greatly reduces the fluid resistance and the lift resistance in the traveling process and is matched with a novel power system so as to realize the energy saving. By matching with a hybrid power system, the high-speed and energy-saving train can travel for a long distance without a power supply network on the way, thereby avoiding catastrophic effects on the traveling process from natural disasters.

Large nozzles discharging larger ink-drops and small nozzles discharging smaller ink-drops are disposed alternately along a side of a common liquid chamber. The opening area of the large nozzles is larger than that of the small nozzles. Flow paths communicating with the small nozzles are shorter than those communicating with the large nozzles. Since the smaller ink-drops are discharged at higher frequency than the larger ink-drops, printing speed in high-quality recording using mainly the smaller ink-drops is improved.

This invention relates to a method for manufacturing a composite member, where a number of different material layers including at least one layer of gelcoat are applied in a mould, and where resin is applied for joining of the layers. The method is new in that particles are added to the gelcoat, whereby the gelcoat comprising such particles forms an outermost layer on at least a part of the manufactured composite member. Hereby is obtained a composite with a hydrophobic and lotus-like surface yielding good self-cleaning properties and which is on the same time self-regenerating. The invention furthermore relates to composite members comprising such a gelcoat layer with particles and to the use of gelcoat comprising particles for giving regenerating self-cleaning properties.
