Abstract

The invention dislcoses a method and a system for sharing a dynamic address pool in a multi-virtual local area network (VLAN) environment. The method comprises the following steps that a VLAN client side transmits a dynamic host configuration protocol discover (DHCP DISCOVER) message carrying a VLAN identification (ID) to any sub-bridge in a virtual local area network; the message uplinks, and is transmitted to a DHCP server after being processed by a sub bridge and a super bridge; the DHCP server receives and processes the DHCP DISCOVER message and transmits a DHCP response message to the VLAN client side according to a recorded message entrance; and the VLAN client side receives and processes the DHCP response message and acquires an internet protocol (IP) address. By the technical scheme, through configuration, a plurality of VLAN client sides are appointed to be simultaneously related to the same address pool to acquire the IP; and the aim of sharing the address pool is fulfilled according to the VLAN-ID of a user.
