Abstract

A quick disconnect assembly includes a tubular housing. The housing includes an eccentric pin secured to the housing and a nut located within the housing sleeve. The nut has a first threaded passage adapted to engage a threaded shaft, a second unthreaded passage extending at an angle to the first passage, and an arcuate groove formed on an outer surface of the nut. When the cam pin of the housing engages the slot at approximately the distal end of the nut, the nut is positioned in a stowed position in which the second channel extends approximately parallel to the longitudinal axis of the housing. When the cam pin engages the slot at approximately the proximal end of the nut, the nut is positioned in a locked position in which the first channel extends approximately parallel to the longitudinal axis of the housing.
