[0056] The general principles of the present disclosure rely on specific techniques for rendering non-photorealistic content from a collection of at least one image of the same scene. As already proposed with respect to the prior art, non-photorealistic rendering consists of creating image abstractions (such as cartoon-style image abstractions), which generally rely mainly on two tasks: region flattening and line drawing. As described more fully hereinafter with reference to the accompanying drawings, it is proposed in this disclosure to use depth information available in depth images associated with a set of at least one image of a scene to enhance image-based non-photorealistic rendering (NPR).
