The video file playback method comprises the following steps: confirming the playback time point corresponding to an intelligent playback mode; obtaining the video files of N channels corresponding to the intelligent playback mode; retrieving at least one target video fragment from the video files of the N channels according to the order of the video time using the playback time point as the retrieving starting point, wherein the target video fragment is a video fragment which is identified with an intelligent event; intercepting the target video fragments from the video file of the corresponding channel; and replaying each target video fragment in the corresponding playback areaaccording to the belonging channel in the playback interface.
