The method comprises the steps as follows: the preset BMC acquires a function of the memory temperature through a PECI (platform environment control interface) of a South Bridge chip; when the BMC fails to read the memory temperature through an ME (management engine), the function is called, so that the BMC can directly access a register for storing the memory temperature on a CPU (central processing unit) throughthe PECI to acquire the memory temperature. The preset BMC acquires the function of the memory temperature through the PECI of the South Bridge chip, that is, a standby reading mode is added. When the BMC fails to read the memory temperature through the ME, a standby function corresponding to the reading mode is called to acquire the memory temperature. Accordingly, when the BMC fails to read thememory temperature through the ME, the standby scheme can be adopted to read the memory temperature, the possibility of data loss is reduced, and the stability of a server management system is enhanced.
