The method comprises the steps of collecting meteorological data of a period of time, and collecting electric heater related data of the period of time through a sensor arranged on the heat storage type electric heater; extracting feature data from the collected electric heater related data and meteorological data; estimating the next-day heating capacity by using the extracted feature data and a pre-trained heating prediction model; and setting the heat storage duration of the heat storage type electric heater according to the estimated next-day heating capacity. According to the technical scheme of the embodiment of the invention, the heating demand of the user and the heat storage duration can be effectively predicted, and the heat storage duration can be reasonably set, so that the conditions of energy waste or insufficient heating can be avoided as much as possible under the condition that the daily heating demand of the user is guaranteed.
