Embodiment Construction

[0061] As a general introduction, aspects described herein can provide low-code / no-code methods and systems operable to automatically generate complex software applications using one or more spreadsheets as the underlying blueprint for the software application. According to some aspects, the resulting software application may be static (read-only), or may be interactive (read / write) to allow users to dynamically add, delete, edit, or otherwise modify application data, For example, via one or more online web pages. In some embodiments, the data transfer between the blueprint spreadsheet and the resulting software application can be one-way or two-way, allowing modified data to be transferred to or from the software application and spreadsheet form Modified data, which is transferred back to the original spreadsheet or to a new spreadsheet.

[0062]A spreadsheet as used herein refers to a logical arrangement of data for presentation to a user, regardless of the form in which th...

Abstract

Aspects described herein may be used with local spreadsheet applications, web, and / or cloud- based spreadsheet solutions, to create complex custom software applications. Spreadsheets themselves lack the conceptual framework to be used as a platform tool to build custom or complex software applications. Using the methods and systems described herein using low-code / no-code techniques, a designer cancreate custom and / or complex software applications using one or more spreadsheets as the underlying blueprints for the software application. The resultant software application may be static / read-only, or may be interactive to allow users to dynamically add, delete, edit, or otherwise amend application data, e.g., via one or more online web pages or via a mobile application. Data transfer may be one-way or bi-directional between the blueprint spreadsheets and the resultant software application, thereby allowing amended data to be transferred from the software application back into spreadsheetform.
