This vehicle control system is provided with: an automatic driving control device that generates a target trajectory for automatic driving; and a vehicle travel control device that performs vehicle travel control such that the vehicle follows the target trajectory. The vehicle travel control device determines, on the basis of the driving environment information acquired from the plurality of sensor devices, whether or not an operation condition for travel assistance control for reducing the risk of travel of the vehicle is satisfied, and executes the travel assistance control when the operation condition is satisfied. Furthermore, the vehicle travel control device generates risk information on the basis of the driving environment information, and transmits the risk information to the automatic driving control device before the operating condition is satisfied. The automatic driving control device then generates or corrects the target trajectory based on the received risk information.
