Abstract

This invention provides an implantable medical device and system. The device includes a coil for receiving commands and electrical energy; a voltage regulator capacitor unit that can be set to a low capacitance state or a high capacitance state; and a controller for setting the voltage regulator capacitor unit to a high capacitance state and receiving electrical energy through the coil to charge a battery when a charging command is received through the coil, otherwise setting the voltage regulator capacitor unit to a low capacitance state and receiving communication commands through the coil.
