Abstract
Description
[0001] This application is a divisional application of the original invention patent application with application number 201811414658.1 (application date: November 26, 2018, invention name: vacuum glass and its manufacturing method). Technical Field
[0002] The invention relates to vacuum glass and a manufacturing method thereof. Background Art
[0003] Glass can be used for doors of household appliances. For example, glass can be used for doors of refrigerators. If glass is applied to the door of a refrigerator, it is advantageous for a user that the user can easily see food stored in the refrigerator through the transparent glass without opening the door.
[0004] However, because glass exhibits a low heat insulation rate due to the inherent characteristics of glass, the cold air stored in the refrigerator may leak to the outside through the glass. In particular, when the glass constitutes a single layer of glass, the low heat insulation rate may be a more serious problem.
[0005] In order to compensate for the lower insulation rate, the glass can be formed into double glazing or vacuum glazing including at least two layers of glass. Double glazing can be formed by injecting a specific gas with a low thermal conductivity between the two layers of glass.
[0006] In addition, vacuum glass can be formed by forming a space between two layers of glass in a vacuum state. Vacuum glass has more advantages than double glass in terms of the ability to block heat transfer to the inside or outside of the glass.
[0007] Regarding vacuum glass, the following related technologies have been introduced.
[0008] 1. Korean Unexamined Patent Publication No. (Publication Date): 10-2009-0036709 (April 15, 2019).
[0009] 2. Invention Name: Vacuum window glass and its manufacturing method
[0010] The related art has the following problems.
[0011] First, since a thick adhesive (glass frit) is formed to bond the two layers of glass to each other in order to improve the bonding force between the two layers of glass, heat is transferred through the bonding portion, thereby forming water beads. In addition, an additional heater is required to prevent the generation of water beads.
[0012] Secondly, since a thicker vacuum layer is formed due to the thicker adhesive, the height of the partition between the two layers of glass for supporting the two layers of glass increases. Therefore, in the process of manufacturing the vacuum glass, the partition may collapse or cannot be stably installed.
[0013] In addition, when the diameter of the partition increases until the above problem occurs, the heat insulation performance of the vacuum glass may be deteriorated. Summary of the invention
[0014] The present invention provides vacuum glass capable of improving heat insulation performance and a method for manufacturing the same. In particular, the present invention provides vacuum glass capable of improving vacuum performance in a glass edge portion.
[0015] In addition, the present invention provides vacuum glass and a method for manufacturing the same capable of improving the bonding property and strength of glass by applying a metal frame to a portion where two layers of glass are bonded to each other (bonding portion).
[0016] In addition, the present invention provides a vacuum glass and a manufacturing method thereof that can reduce heat transfer at a bonding portion by using a metal frame with a low thermal conductivity. In addition, the present invention provides a vacuum glass that can reduce thermal conductivity by proposing an optimal shape of the frame to increase the length of the thermal conduction path.
[0017] In addition, the present invention provides a vacuum glass in which, since a metal frame having low corrosivity is used, even if water drops are generated at a bonding portion, the metal frame can be prevented from being corroded.
[0018] The present invention provides a vacuum glass that is simply manufactured when glass is assembled with a frame with an adhesive. In addition, the present invention provides a vacuum glass in which a frame combined with an adhesive is mass-manufactured as a separate component and a manufacturing method thereof.
[0019] According to one aspect of the present invention, a vacuum glass may include: a vacuum layer formed between a first layer of glass and a second layer of glass; a partition provided in the vacuum layer; a frame provided at edge portions of the first layer of glass and the second layer of glass; and a sealant inserted between the frame and surfaces of the first layer of glass and the second layer of glass to perform sealing of the vacuum layer. Therefore, the heat insulation performance of the vacuum glass may be improved.
[0020] The frame may include a metal material, particularly a stainless steel material, thereby increasing the strength of the vacuum glass window and improving the bonding performance of the glass.
[0021] The frame may be coupled to lateral side surfaces of the first and second layers of glass and may have a curved shape. Therefore, close contact performance of the first and second layers of glass may be improved.
[0022] The frame may further include a third portion coupling the first portion to the second portion and having a curved or rounded shape. Thus, the frame may impart elasticity to the first layer of glass and the second layer of glass.
[0023] The first and second parts may be coupled to the bottom surface of the first layer of glass and the top surface of the second layer of glass, and the third part may be disposed on the lateral side surfaces of the first layer of glass and the second layer of glass. Therefore, the bonding performance between the first layer of glass and the second layer of glass may be improved.
[0024] The vacuum layer includes a frame vacuum layer interposed between lateral side surfaces of the first and second layers of glass and an inner surface of the third portion.
[0025] Since the sealant is disposed between the inner peripheral surface of the frame and the outer surfaces of the first layer of glass and the second layer of glass, the sealing effect of the vacuum glass can be improved.
[0026] Since the sealant is disposed between the frame and the top surface of the first layer of glass and between the frame and the bottom surface of the second layer of glass, the sealing effect of the vacuum glass can be improved.
[0027] The first and second layers of glass may have a rectangular shape, and the frame may include four frame portions corresponding to edge portions of the first and second layers of glass. Therefore, the first and second layers of glass may be stably coupled to the frame.
[0028] Since the vertical width of the vacuum layer is within the range of 0.18-0.22 mm and the thickness of the frame is within the range of 0.2-1.0 mm, the heat insulation performance may be improved and the rigidity of the frame may be maintained.
[0029] Since the lateral width of each portion of the first layer of glass and the second layer of glass coupled to the frame is within the range of 3-10 mm, the sealant can be stably formed.
[0030] According to another aspect of the present invention, a method for manufacturing vacuum glass includes the following steps: installing a partition on the top surface of a first layer of glass; covering a second layer of glass on the partition; manufacturing a glass assembly by connecting a frame containing a metal material to edge portions of the first layer of glass and the second layer of glass; sealing the first layer of glass and the second layer of glass with the frame by heating the glass assembly; forming a vacuum layer in the space between the first layer of glass and the second layer of glass by performing suction using an exhaust hole in the second layer of glass; and filling the exhaust hole with an exhaust finish material.
[0031] As described above, according to the present invention, the frame and the adhesive can be assembled between two layers of glass. Therefore, the heat insulation performance of the vacuum glass can be improved. In particular, the vacuum performance at the bonding part (end part) of the vacuum glass assembled with the frame can be improved.
[0032] In addition, the frame may include a metal material, so that the bonding performance of the glass is improved. Therefore, the strength of the bonding portion can be increased.
[0033] In addition, the frame may include a stainless steel material having low thermal conductivity and low corrosion performance. Therefore, the vacuum glass may be configured to exhibit poor thermal conductivity at the bonding portion and exhibit strong moisture resistance.
[0034] In addition, the frame is configured to surround the edge portions of the two layers of glass, so the length of the heat conduction path is increased through the frame. Therefore, the thermal conductivity at the bonding portion is reduced.
[0035] In addition, the frame includes a plurality of curved or arc-shaped portions, thereby improving the close contact performance between the two layers of glass.
[0036] In addition, since the glass can be assembled with the frame combined with an adhesive, the manufacturing method can be simplified and the frame can be mass-produced. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0055] Hereinafter, detailed embodiments of the present invention will be described. The spirit of the present invention is not limited to the above embodiments. Those skilled in the art who understand the spirit of the present invention can easily propose another embodiment within the scope of the spirit.
[0056] [First embodiment]
[0057] Figure 1 is a perspective view illustrating the configuration of a vacuum glass according to a first embodiment of the present invention, Figure 2 is an exploded perspective view illustrating the configuration of a vacuum glass according to a first embodiment of the present invention, Figure 3 It is along Figure 1 A cross-sectional view taken along line II' of Figure 4 It is along Figure 1 A cross-sectional view taken along line II-II'.
[0058] Reference Figures 1 to 4 The vacuum glass 10 according to the first embodiment of the present invention can be used for a refrigerator door. The vacuum glass 10 according to the second to fourth embodiments to be described below can be used for a refrigerator door.
[0059] The vacuum glass 10 includes multiple layers of glass 110 and 120 and a frame 150 coupled to edge portions of the multiple layers of glass 110 and 120 to seal a space between the multiple layers of glass 110 and 120 so that the space between the multiple layers of glass 110 and 120 is maintained in a vacuum state.
[0060] The multiple layers of glass 110 and 120 include a first layer of glass 110 and a second layer of glass 120 disposed on one side of the first layer of glass 110. Although the arrangement direction of the first layer of glass 110 and the second layer of glass 120 may vary according to the viewing direction, the second layer of glass 120 may be disposed above the first layer of glass 110 based on the figure.
[0061] For example, when the vacuum glass 10 is used for a refrigerator door, the second layer of glass 120 may be formed on the rear surface of the refrigerator door and the first layer of glass 110 may be formed on the front surface of the refrigerator door.
[0062] The first layer of glass 110 and the second layer of glass 120 may be provided in the shape of a thin plate. For example, the thickness of the first layer of glass 110 or the second layer of glass 120 may be formed in the range of 3.5-4.5 mm.
[0063] In addition, the first layer of glass 110 and the second layer of glass 120 may have, for example, a rectangular shape. In addition, the first layer of glass 110 and the second layer of glass 120 may be provided to have the same size or the same shape.
[0064] The frame 150 may seal edge portions of the first and second layers of glass 110 and 120. In detail, the frame 150 includes a plurality of frame portions arranged along edge portions of the first and second layers of glass 110 and 120. For example, the plurality of frame portions includes four frame portions.
[0065] The four frame parts include a first frame part connected to the first edge part of the first layer of glass 110 and the second layer of glass 120, a second frame part connected to the second edge part of the first layer of glass 110 and the second layer of glass 120, a third frame part connected to the third edge part of the first layer of glass 110 and the second layer of glass 120, and a fourth frame part connected to the fourth edge part of the first layer of glass 110 and the second layer of glass 120.
[0066] The first to fourth frame portions may have the same configuration and the same shape. The frame 150 may have a rectangular shape having an open inner portion depending on the arrangement of the first to fourth frame portions. In addition, a coupling surface 155 may be formed on opposite side portions of each of the first to fourth frame portions. The coupling surface 155 may be configured to extend while being inclined relative to four edge portions of the first layer of glass 110 and the second layer of glass 120.
[0067] The frame 150 includes a metal member. For example, the metal material may include a stainless steel material having a low thermal conductivity. The stainless steel material has a characteristic of exhibiting excellent adhesion to the sealant 170 to be described.
[0068] When the frame 150 is formed of metal, bonding characteristics between the first and second layers of glass 110 and 120 and the frame 150 may be improved, and strength between the first and second layers of glass 110 and 120 and the frame 150 may be increased.
[0069] The first layer of glass 110 and the second layer of glass 120 are spaced apart from each other in a vertical direction. A vacuum layer 180 may be formed in a space between the first layer of glass 110 and the second layer of glass 120. In other words, the vacuum layer 180 may be formed between the top surface of the first layer of glass 110 and the bottom surface of the second layer of glass 120. The vertical width of the vacuum layer 180 may be formed in the range of about 0.18-0.22 mm, and the vacuum pressure of the vacuum layer 180 may be 10 -3 or smaller.
[0070] A spacer 130 for supporting the first layer of glass 110 and the second layer of glass 120 may be inserted between the first layer of glass 110 and the second layer of glass 120. The spacer 130 may be disposed in the vacuum layer 180 and may have, for example, a substantially cylindrical shape. A lower portion of the spacer 130 may be supported on the top surface of the first layer of glass 110, and an upper portion of the spacer 130 may be supported on the bottom surface of the second layer of glass 120.
[0071] The partition 130 may include a plurality of partitions 130. A diameter of the partition 130 may be about 0.5 mm, and a distance between the plurality of partitions 130 may be about 25 mm.
[0072] An exhaust finishing member 140 is provided in the second layer of glass 120. Those skilled in the art will appreciate that the exhaust finishing member 140 seals the exhaust hole 125 (see Figure 5c ).
[0073] The exhaust hole 125 may be configured to exhaust gas existing between the first layer of glass 110 and the second layer of glass 120 so that a vacuum layer is formed between the first layer of glass 110 and the second layer of glass 120. The exhaust hole 125 may be formed through the second layer of glass 120 in a vertical direction.
[0074] After the gas is exhausted through the exhaust hole 125, the exhaust finishing member 140 blocks the exhaust hole 125. For example, the exhaust finishing member 140 may include glass frit having a low melting point.
[0075] The vacuum glass 10 may further include an exhaust cover 145 disposed at an upper portion of the exhaust finish member 140. The exhaust cover 145 may have a cover shape to cover the exhaust finish member 140, and may include a metal material. The exhaust cover 145 may prevent the external pressure of the vacuum glass 10 from being applied to the exhaust finish member 140, thereby preventing the exhaust finish member 140 from deviating from the exhaust hole 125 or preventing the exhaust finish member 140 from being broken.
[0076] The vacuum glass 10 further includes a gas adsorbent 160 (getter). It will be appreciated by those skilled in the art that the gas adsorbent 160 may contain moisture or gas that may be generated during the process of manufacturing the vacuum glass 10. In other words, even if the vacuum layer 180 is formed in the vacuum glass 10, moisture or a predetermined gas may be generated in the first layer of glass 110 or the second layer of glass 120 or the partition 130. The gas adsorbent 160 allows gas to be adsorbed thereon so that the vacuum layer 180 may be maintained in a vacuum state. For example, the gas adsorbent 160 may also include a non-evaporable getter that is activated when current flows. After the vacuum glass 10 is manufactured, power supplied from the outside of the vacuum glass 10 may be supplied to the gas adsorbent 160 through wiring.
[0077] The frame 150 may be coupled to edge portions of the first and second layers of glass 110 and 120 so that the vacuum layer 180 may be easily maintained. In other words, the frame 150 may form an edge portion of the vacuum layer 180.
[0078] The four frame parts constituting the frame 150 include a first part 151, a second part 152, and a third part 153. The first part 151 and the second part 152 may be coupled to outer surfaces of the first and second layers of glass 110 and 120.
[0079] In detail, the first portion 151 may have a curved shape and may be configured to be coupled to the bottom surface 111 and the first lateral side surface 113 of the first layer of glass 110. In addition, the second portion 152 may have a curved shape and may be configured to be coupled to the top surface 121 and the second lateral side surface 123 of the second layer of glass 120.
[0080] The thickness of the frame 150 (that is, the thickness (t) of the first portion 151, the second portion 152, and the third portion 153) may be formed within a range of 0.2-1.0 mm. If the thickness of the frame 150 is 0.2 mm or less, the frame 150 may be broken when the frame 150 is processed. On the contrary, if the thickness t of the frame 150 is 1.0 mm or more, the thermal conductivity of the frame 150 increases, so that the thermal insulation performance of the vacuum glass 10 may be reduced.
[0081] The left and right width of the frame 150 (that is, the width W of the bottom surface 111 of the first layer of glass 110 coupled to the first portion 151) can be formed within the range of 3-10 mm. The width W can be equal to the width of the top surface 121 of the second layer of glass 120 coupled to the second portion 152.
[0082] If the width W of the frame 150 is formed to be 3 mm or less, the sealant 170 is not compressed in the space between the frame 150 and the first and second layers of glass 110 and 120 by a sufficient length. Therefore, the sealing effect may be deteriorated. On the contrary, if the width W of the frame 150 is formed to be 10 mm or more, since heat may be excessively lost in the edge portions of the first and second layers of glass 110 and 120, the heat insulation performance may be deteriorated.
[0083] A sealant 170 may be further included in the vacuum glass 10 . The sealant 170 may be provided in a coupling portion between the first portion 151 and the first layer of glass 110 and a coupling portion between the second portion 152 and the second layer of glass 120 .
[0084] In detail, sealant 170 may be inserted between first portion 151 and bottom surface 111 and first lateral side surface 113. In detail, sealant 170 may be inserted between second portion 152 and top surface 121 and second lateral side surface 123.
[0085] The sealant 170 may be provided in a state where the sealant 170 is attached to the frame 150. For example, the sealant 170 may be coated on the frame 150 and may contain glass frit. When the frame 150 is heated after the frame 150 is coupled to the first and second layers of glass 110 and 120, the sealant 170 melts and is compressed between the frame 150 and the first and second layers of glass 110 and 120. By configuring the sealant 170, the effect of sealing the coupling portion of the frame 150 may be increased.
[0086] The third portion 153 is connected to the first portion 151 and the second portion 152, and may be disposed at the side portions of the first layer of glass 110 and the second layer of glass 120. The third portion 153 may have a curved or rounded shape. For example, the third portion 153 may have a hemispherical shape. Due to the shape of the third portion 153, the frame 150 may impart elasticity to the first layer of glass 110 and the second layer of glass 120, so that the first layer of glass 110 and the second layer of glass 120 may be in close contact with the upper and lower portions of the frame 150.
[0087] A frame vacuum layer 182 is formed between the first and second layers of glass 110 and 120 and an inner portion of the third portion 153. The frame vacuum layer 182 may be in communication with the vacuum layer 180, and thus the volume of the vacuum layer provided in the vacuum glass 10 is increased. In a broad sense, those skilled in the art may understand that the frame vacuum layer 182 constitutes at least a portion of the vacuum layer 180.
[0088] The length of the frame 150 may be relatively increased due to the configuration of the first portion 151, the second portion 152, and the third portion 153. Therefore, due to the frame 150, the length of the heat conduction path may be increased, and thus the amount of heat conduction may be reduced.
[0089] Figure 5a to Figure 5f is a view illustrating a method for manufacturing vacuum glass according to a first embodiment of the present invention. Figure 5a to Figure 5f A method for manufacturing vacuum glass according to a first embodiment will be described.
[0090] First, the first layer of glass 110 is set. After cleaning the first layer of glass 110, the first layer of glass 110 (see Figure 5a ).
[0091] The partition 130 may be disposed on the top surface of the first layer of glass 110. The partition 130 may include a plurality of partitions, and the plurality of partitions may be disposed at a preset distance. For example, the plurality of partitions 130 may be arranged in a lattice (matrix) manner. The plurality of partitions 130 may protrude from the top surface of the first layer of glass 110 (see Figure 5b ).
[0092] The second layer of glass 120 may be covered on the first layer of glass 110. If the second layer of glass 120 is disposed, upper portions of the plurality of spacers 130 may support a bottom surface of the second layer of glass 120.
[0093] The exhaust hole 125 may be formed in the second layer of glass 120 so that the exhaust pipe 128 is connected to the exhaust hole 125. As described above, those skilled in the art may understand the exhaust hole as a member for forming the vacuum layers 180 and 182 by exhausting the gas existing between the first layer of glass 110 and the second layer of glass 120. In addition, the gas adsorbent 160 may be provided on the bottom surface of the second layer of glass 120 ( Figure 5c ).
[0094] After the first and second layers of glass 110 and 120 are arranged, the frame 150 may be installed at edge portions of the first and second layers of glass 110 and 120. The frame 150 may have a sealant 170 coated on an inner surface of the frame 150.
[0095] In detail, the four frame parts constituting the frame 150 may be arranged at the corresponding edge parts of the first layer of glass 110 and the second layer of glass 120, and coupled with the outer surfaces of the first layer of glass 110 and the second layer of glass 120. In this case, the coupling surface 155 provided on the opposite side parts of each frame part may be coupled to the coupling surfaces of the two adjacent frame parts.
[0096] After the frame 150 is assembled with the first and second layers of glass 110 and 120, the assembly between the first and second layers of glass 110 and 120 and the frame 150 (hereinafter, glass assembly) is heated. During the heating process, the sealant 170 is melted and compressed to seal the space between the first and second layers of glass 110 and 120 and the frame 150 (see FIG. Figure 5d ).
[0097] Thereafter, the exhaust pipe 128 is coupled to the exhaust hole 125, and vacuum suction is performed through the exhaust pipe 128. Thus, the vacuum layer 180 and the frame vacuum layer 182 may be formed (see Figure 5e After the vacuum layers 180 and 182 are formed, the exhaust hole 125 may be blocked with the exhaust finishing member 140, and the exhaust cover 145 may be coupled to the outer portion of the exhaust finishing member 140 (see Figure 5f ). The vacuum suction process and the process of coupling the exhaust finishing member 140 to the exhaust cover 145 may be performed in a vacuum chamber having a vacuum atmosphere. With this manufacturing method, the vacuum glass 10 may be easily manufactured.
[0098] Hereinafter, the second to fourth embodiments of the present invention will be described. The above embodiments differ from the first embodiment in the configuration of the frame. Therefore, the following description will be made with an eye on the differences, and by referring to the description of the first embodiment, the description of the same components as those of the first embodiment will be understood. [0101] The multiple layers of glass 110 and 120 include a first layer of glass 110 and a second layer of glass 120. [0103] The four frame parts include a first frame part connected to the first edge part of the first layer of glass 110 and the second layer of glass 120, a second frame part connected to the second edge part of the first layer of glass 110 and the second layer of glass 120, a third frame part connected to the third edge part of the first layer of glass 110 and the second layer of glass 120, and a fourth frame part connected to the fourth edge part of the first layer of glass 110 and the second layer of glass 120.
[0104] The first to fourth frame portions may have the same configuration and the same shape. The frame 150a may have a rectangular shape having an open inner portion depending on the arrangement of the first to fourth frame portions. In addition, a coupling surface 155a coupled to two adjacent frame portions may be formed on opposite side portions of each of the first to fourth frame portions. The coupling surface 155a may be configured to extend while being inclined relative to the four edges of the first layer of glass 110 and the second layer of glass 120.
[0105] The frame 150a may include a metal material, for example, a stainless steel material. The details thereof will be understood by referring to the description of the first embodiment.
[0106] The first layer of glass 110 and the second layer of glass 120 are spaced apart from each other in a vertical direction, and a vacuum layer 180 a may be formed in a space between the first layer of glass 110 and the second layer of glass 120 .
[0107] In addition, a spacer 130 for supporting the first and second layers of glass 110 and 120 may be inserted between the first and second layers of glass 110 and 120. The spacer 130 may be disposed in the vacuum layer 180a. Details of the spacer 130 may be understood by referring to the description of the first embodiment.
[0108] The vacuum glass 10a further includes an exhaust finishing member 140, an exhaust cover 145, and a gas adsorbent 160 provided on the second glass 120. The details thereof can be understood by referring to the description of the first embodiment.
[0109] The frame 150a may be coupled to edge portions of the first and second layers of glass 110 and 120 so that the vacuum layer 180a may be maintained in a vacuum state. In other words, the frame 150a may constitute an end portion of the vacuum layer 180a.
[0110] The plurality of frame parts constituting the frame 150a include a first part 151a, a second part 152a, and a third part 153a. The first part 151a, the second part 152a, and the third part 153a may be coupled to the outer surfaces of the first layer of glass 110 and the second layer of glass 120, and may have a linear planar shape. The frame 150a may have a curved shape by the configuration of the first part 151a, the second part 152a, and the third part 153a.
[0111] In detail, the first portion 151a may be configured to be coupled to the bottom surface 111 of the first layer of glass 110. In detail, the second portion 152a may be configured to be coupled to the top surface 121 of the first layer of glass 120. In addition, the third portion 153a may be configured to couple the first lateral side surface 113 of the first layer of glass 110 and the second lateral side surface 123 of the second layer of glass 120.
[0112] The thickness t1 of the frame 150a (that is, the thickness t1 of each of the first portion 151a, the second portion 152a, and the third portion 153a) may be in the range of 0.2-1.0 mm. If the thickness t1 of the frame 150a is formed to be 0.2 mm or less, the frame 150a may be broken when the frame 150a is processed. On the contrary, if the thickness t1 of the frame 150a may be configured to be 1.0 mm or more, the thermal conductivity of the frame 150a may increase, so the thermal insulation performance of the vacuum glass 10a may be reduced.
[0113] The left and right width of the frame 150a (that is, the width W1 of the bottom surface 111 of the first layer of glass 110 coupled to the first portion 151a) may be formed within a range of 3-10 mm. The width W1 may be equal to the width of the top surface 121 of the second layer of glass 120 coupled to the second portion 152.
[0114] If the width W1 of the frame 150a is formed to be 3 mm or less, the sealant 170a is not compressed in the space between the frame 150a and the first and second layers of glass 110 and 120 by a sufficient length. Therefore, the sealing effect may be deteriorated. On the contrary, if the width W1 of the frame 150a is formed to be 10 mm or more, since heat may be excessively lost in the edge portions of the first and second layers of glass 110 and 120, the heat insulation performance may be deteriorated.
[0115] A sealant 170 a may be further included in the vacuum glass 10 a . The sealant 170 a may be interposed between inner surfaces of the first portion 151 a , the second portion 152 a , and the third portion 153 a and outer surfaces of the first and second layers of glass 110 and 120 .
[0116] In detail, the sealant 170a may be inserted between the first portion 151a and the bottom surface 111 of the first layer of glass 110. In detail, the sealant 170a may be inserted between the second portion 152a and the top surface 121 of the second layer of glass 120. In detail, the sealant 170a may be inserted between the third portion 153a and the first and second lateral side surfaces 113 and 123.
[0117] The configuration of the sealant 170 a and the concept of providing the frame 150 a with the sealant 170 a will be understood by referring to the description of the first embodiment.
[0118] Due to the configuration of the first portion 151a, the second portion 152a, and the third portion 153a, the length of the frame 150a may be relatively increased. Therefore, due to the frame 150a, the length of the heat conduction path may be increased, and thus the amount of heat conduction may be reduced.
[0119] In the following, reference will be made to Figures 9a to 9cThe method for manufacturing vacuum glass according to the second embodiment will be described. Figure 5a to Figure 5c Description of the manufacturing method.
[0120] like Figure 5a to Figure 5c As shown in FIG. 1 , a plurality of spacers 130 are mounted on the first layer of glass 110 and cover the second layer of glass 120. Then, a frame 150a may be mounted at edge portions of the first and second layers of glass 110 and 120. The frame 150a may have a sealant 170a coated on an inner surface of the frame 150a.
[0121] In detail, the four frame parts constituting the frame 150a may be arranged at the corresponding edge parts of the first layer of glass 110 and the second layer of glass 120, and coupled to the outer surfaces of the first layer of glass 110 and the second layer of glass 120. In this case, the coupling surface 155a provided on the opposite side parts of each frame part may be coupled to the coupling surfaces of the two adjacent frame parts.
[0122] After the frame 150a is assembled with the first and second layers of glass 110 and 120, the assembly between the first and second layers of glass 110 and 120 and the frame 150a (hereinafter, glass assembly) is heated. During the heating process, the sealant 170a melts and is compressed to seal the space between the first and second layers of glass 110 and 120 and the frame 150a (see FIG. Figure 9a ).
[0123] Thereafter, the exhaust pipe 128 is coupled to the exhaust hole 125 formed in the second layer of glass 120, and vacuum suction is performed through the exhaust pipe 128. Thus, a vacuum layer 180a (see Figure 9b ).
[0124] After forming the vacuum layer 180a, the exhaust hole 125 may be blocked with the exhaust finishing member 140, and the exhaust cover 145 may be coupled to the outer portion of the exhaust finishing member 140 (see Fig.9c ). By using this manufacturing method, the vacuum glass 10a can be easily manufactured.

[0130] For example, the plurality of frame portions include four frame portions. Specifically, the four frame portions include a first frame portion 151b coupled to a first edge portion of the first layer of glass 110 and the second layer of glass 120, a second frame portion 152b coupled to a second edge portion of the first layer of glass 110 and the second layer of glass 120, a third frame portion 153b coupled to a third edge portion of the first layer of glass 110 and the second layer of glass 120, and a fourth frame portion 154b coupled to a fourth edge portion of the first layer of glass 110 and the second layer of glass 120.
[0131] A plurality of frame portions 151b, 152b, 153b, and 154b may be connected to each other. In addition, a side portion of the first frame portion 151b may be separated from a side portion of the fourth frame portion 154b. The frame 150b may have a shape that is bent multiple times. The first frame portion 151b may be assembled with the fourth frame portion 154b after the frame 150b is assembled with the first layer of glass 110 and the second layer of glass 120.
[0132] The first frame portion 151b, the second frame portion 152b, the third frame portion 153b, and the fourth frame portion 154b may have the same configuration and the same shape. The frame 150b may have a rectangular shape with an open inner portion depending on the arrangement of the first to fourth frame portions.
[0133] The frame 150b may include a metal material, for example, a stainless steel material. The details thereof will be understood by referring to the description of the first embodiment.
[0134] The first layer of glass 110 and the second layer of glass 120 are spaced apart from each other in a vertical direction, and a vacuum layer 180 b may be formed in a space between the first layer of glass 110 and the second layer of glass 120 .
[0135] In addition, a spacer 130 for supporting the first and second layers of glass 110 and 120 may be inserted between the first and second layers of glass 110 and 120. [0137] The frame 150b may be coupled to edge portions of the first and second layers of glass 110 and 120 so that the vacuum layer 180b may be maintained in a vacuum state. In other words, the frame 150b may constitute an edge portion of the vacuum layer 180b.
[0138] The first, second, third, and fourth frame portions 151 b , 152 b , 153 b , and 154 b may be configured to be coupled to the first lateral side surface 113 of the first layer of glass 110 and the second lateral side surface 123 of the second layer of glass 120 .
[0139] The thickness t2 of the frame 150b may be in the range of 0.2-1.0 mm. If the thickness t2 of the frame 150b is formed to be 0.2 mm or less, the frame 150b may be broken when the frame 150b is processed. On the contrary, if the thickness t2 of the frame 150b is configured to be 1.0 mm or more, the thermal conductivity of the frame 150b may increase, so the thermal insulation performance of the vacuum glass 10b may be reduced.
[0140] A sealant 170b may be further included in the vacuum glass 10b and may be interposed between inner surfaces of the first, second, third, and fourth frame portions 151b, 152b, 153b, and 154b and outer surfaces of the first and second layers of glass 110 and 120.
[0141] In detail, the sealant 170b may be inserted between the inner peripheral surfaces of the first frame portion 151b, the second frame portion 152b, the third frame portion 153b, and the fourth frame portion 154b of the frame 150b and the first lateral side surface 113 of the first layer of glass 110. In detail, the sealant 170b may be inserted between the inner peripheral surfaces of the first frame portion 151b, the second frame portion 152b, the third frame portion 153b, and the fourth frame portion 154b of the frame 150b and the second lateral side surface 123 of the second layer of glass 120.
[0142] The configuration of the sealant 170 b and the concept of providing the frame 150 b with the sealant 170 b will be understood by referring to the description of the first embodiment.
[0143] According to the configuration of the first frame portion 151b, the second frame portion 152b, the third frame portion 153b, and the fourth frame portion 154b, since the frame 150b is provided only on the lateral side surfaces of the first layer of glass 110 and the second layer of glass 120, the bottom surface of the first layer of glass 110 and the top surface of the second layer of glass 120, i.e., the front and rear surfaces of the refrigerator door (when the bottom surface of the first layer of glass 110 and the top surface of the second layer of glass 120 are used as the front and rear surfaces of the refrigerator door) can have a smooth surface. In addition, other components are not obstructed and an aesthetic appearance is obtained.
[0144] In the following, reference will be made to Figures 13a to 13c The method for manufacturing vacuum glass according to the third embodiment will be described. In this embodiment, reference will be made to the description according to the first embodiment. Figure 5a to Figure 5c Description of the manufacturing method.
[0145] like Figure 5a to Figure 5c As shown in FIG. 1 , a plurality of spacers 130 are mounted on the first layer of glass 110 and cover the second layer of glass 120. Then, a frame 150b may be mounted at edge portions of the first and second layers of glass 110 and 120. The frame 150b may have a sealant 170b coated on an inner surface of the frame 150b.
[0146] In detail, four frame portions 151 b , 152 b , 153 b , and 154 b constituting the frame 150 b may be disposed at respective edge portions of the first and second glasses 110 and 120 and coupled to outer surfaces of the first and second glasses 110 and 120 .
[0147] After assembling the frame 150b with the first and second layers of glass 110 and 120, the components between the first and second layers of glass 110 and 120 and the frame 150b are heated. During the heating process, the sealant 170b melts and is compressed to seal the space between the first and second layers of glass 110 and 120 and the frame 150b (see Fig.13a ).
[0148] Thereafter, the exhaust pipe 128 is coupled to the exhaust hole 125 formed in the second layer of glass 120, and vacuum suction is performed through the exhaust pipe 128. Thus, a vacuum layer 180b (see Fig.13b ).
[0149] After forming the vacuum layer 180b, the exhaust hole 125 may be blocked with the exhaust finishing member 140, and the exhaust cover 145 may be coupled to the outer portion of the exhaust finishing member 140 (see Figure 5f ). By using this manufacturing method, the vacuum glass 10b can be easily manufactured.
[0150] [Fourth Embodiment]
[0151] Fig.14 is a perspective view illustrating the configuration of a vacuum glass according to a fourth embodiment of the present invention, and Fig.15 : is an exploded perspective view illustrating the configuration of a vacuum glass according to a fourth embodiment of the present invention. Fig.16 It is along Fig.14 A cross-sectional view taken along line V-V' of Figures 17a to 17d 2 is a view illustrating a method of manufacturing a vacuum glass according to a fourth embodiment of the present invention.
[0152] Reference Figures 14 to 17d According to the fourth embodiment of the present invention, the vacuum glass 10c includes multiple layers of glass 110 and 120 and a frame 150c, and the frame 150c is inserted between the multiple layers of glass 110 and 120 to seal the space between the multiple layers of glass 110 and 120 so that the space between the multiple layers of glass 110 and 120 is maintained in a vacuum state.
[0153] The multiple layers of glass 110 and 120 include a first layer of glass 110 and a second layer of glass 120. The description of the first layer of glass 110 and the second layer of glass 120 will be understood by referring to the description of the first layer of glass 110 and the second layer of glass 120 of the first embodiment.
[0154] The frame 150c is compressed between the first layer of glass 110 and the second layer of glass 120 to seal the space between the first layer of glass 110 and the second layer of glass 120. In detail, the frame 150c includes a plurality of frame portions 151c, 152c, 153c, and 154c. The plurality of frame portions 151c, 152c, 153c, and 154c may be coupled to each other. The frame 150c may have a shape that is bent multiple times.
[0155] The first frame portion 151c, the second frame portion 152c, the third frame portion 153c, and the fourth frame portion 154c may have the same configuration and the same shape. The frame 150c may have a rectangular frame shape having an open inner portion depending on the arrangement of the first to fourth frame portions.
[0156] The frame 150c may include a metal material, for example, a stainless steel material. The details thereof will be understood by referring to the description of the first embodiment.
[0157] The first layer of glass 110 and the second layer of glass 120 are spaced apart from each other in a vertical direction, and a vacuum layer 180 c may be formed in a space between the first layer of glass 110 and the second layer of glass 120 .
[0158] In addition, a spacer 130 for supporting the first and second layers of glass 110 and 120 may be inserted between the first and second layers of glass 110 and 120. The spacer 130 may be provided in the vacuum layer 180c. Details of the spacer 130 may be understood by referring to the description of the first embodiment.
[0159] The vacuum glass 10c further includes an exhaust finishing member 140, an exhaust cover 145, and a gas adsorbent 160 provided on the second glass 120. The details thereof can be understood by referring to the description of the first embodiment.
[0160] The frame 150c may be coupled to edge portions of the first and second layers of glass 110 and 120 so that the vacuum layer 180c may be maintained in a vacuum state. In other words, the frame 150c may constitute an edge portion of the vacuum layer 180c.
[0161] The first frame portion 151 c , the second frame portion 152 c , the third frame portion 153 c , and the fourth frame portion 154 c may be configured to be coupled to the first top surface 114 of the first layer of glass 110 and the second bottom surface 124 of the second layer of glass 120 .
[0162] The thickness t3 of the frame 150c may be in the range of 0.1-1.0 mm. If the thickness of the frame 150c is formed to be 0.1 mm or less, the vertical width of the vacuum layer 180c is significantly reduced, and thus the heat insulation performance is deteriorated. On the contrary, if the thickness t3 of the frame 150c is configured to be 1.0 mm or more, the thermal conductivity of the frame 150c is increased, so the heat insulation performance of the vacuum glass 10c is reduced.
[0163] The left and right width of the frame 150c (that is, the width W3 of the top surface 114 of the first layer of glass 110 coupled to the frame 150c) may be formed within a range of 3-10 mm. The width W3 may be the width of the bottom surface 124 of the second layer of glass 120 coupled to the frame 150c.
[0164] If the width W3 of the frame 150c is formed to be 3 mm or less, the sealant 170c is not compressed in the space between the frame 150c and the first and second layers of glass 110 and 120 by a sufficient length. Therefore, the sealing effect may be deteriorated. On the contrary, if the width W3 of the frame 150c is formed to be 10 mm or more, since heat may be excessively lost in the edges of the first and second layers of glass 110 and 120, the heat insulation performance may be deteriorated.
[0165] A sealant 170c may also be included in the vacuum glass 10c. The sealant 170c may be disposed between the bottom surfaces of the first frame portion 151c, the second frame portion 152c, the third frame portion 153c, and the fourth frame portion 154c and the top surface 114 of the first layer of glass 110, and may be disposed between the top surfaces of the first frame portion 151c, the second frame portion 152c, the third frame portion 153c, and the fourth frame portion 154c and the bottom surface 124 of the second layer of glass 120.
[0166] The configuration of the sealant 170 c and the concept of providing the frame 150 c with the sealant 170 c will be understood by referring to the description of the first embodiment.
[0167] According to the configuration of the first frame portion 151c, the second frame portion 152c, the third frame portion 153c, and the fourth frame portion 154c, since the frame 150c can be inserted between the first layer of glass 110 and the second layer of glass 120, the frame 150c may not be exposed outside the first layer of glass 110 and the second layer of glass 120. Therefore, when the vacuum glass 10c is used for a refrigerator door, the front and rear surfaces of the door may be smooth. In addition, other components are not obstructed and an aesthetic appearance may be obtained.
[0168] In the following, reference will be made to Figures 17a to 17dThe method for manufacturing the vacuum glass according to the fourth embodiment will be described. In this embodiment, the method described in the description according to the first embodiment will be referred to. Figure 5a and Figure 5b Description of the manufacturing method.
[0169] like Figure 5a and Figure 5b As shown in FIG. 1 , after a plurality of spacers 130 are mounted on the first layer of glass 110, a frame 150c may be mounted on the edge of the top surface of the first layer of glass 110. The frame 150c may have a sealant 170c (see FIG. 150c ) coated on the frame 150c. Fig.17a ).
[0170] The second layer of glass 120 may be covered on the frame 150c (see Fig.17b ). After the frame 150c is inserted into the first and second layers of glass 110 and 120, the components between the first and second layers of glass 110 and 120 and the frame 150c are heated. During the heating process, the sealant 170c melts and is compressed to seal the space between the first and second layers of glass 110 and 120 and the frame 150c (see Fig.16 ).
[0171] Thereafter, the exhaust pipe 128 is coupled to the exhaust hole 125 formed in the second layer of glass 120, and vacuum suction is performed through the exhaust pipe 128. Thus, a vacuum layer 180c (see Fig.17c ).
[0172] After forming the vacuum layer 180c, the exhaust hole 125 may be blocked with the exhaust finishing member 140, and the exhaust cover 145 may be coupled to the outer portion of the exhaust finishing member 140 (see Fig.17d ). By using this manufacturing method, the vacuum glass 10c can be easily manufactured.
[0173] Fig.18 is an experimental graph illustrating a comparison between insulation loads measured according to the thickness of a frame according to the present invention.
[0174] The heat insulation performance may vary according to the thickness of the frame according to the embodiment of the present invention. In the above description, it is suggested that the thickness of the frames 150, 150a and 150b described in the first to third embodiments is within the range of 0.2-1.0 mm.
[0175] For example, Fig.18 is a graph showing a comparison between the prior art and the second embodiment of the present invention.
[0176] Reference Fig.18, the reference symbol A on the horizontal axis indicates that only a sealant is provided between the first layer of glass and the second layer of glass, and no frame is provided. The vertical axis indicates the insulation load, that is, the thermal conductivity load value. It can be understood by those skilled in the art that if the insulation load increases, the amount of thermal conductivity increases.
[0177] Reference numerals B1 to B3 denote thicknesses of the frame 150a according to the second embodiment. In detail, reference symbol B1 denotes that the thickness t1 of the frame 150a is 0.2 mm, reference symbol B2 denotes that the thickness t1 of the frame 150a is 0.5 mm, and reference symbol B3 denotes that the thickness t1 of the frame 150a is 1.0 mm.
[0178] As known from the graph, reference numerals B1 to B3 all represent a smaller insulation load than reference numeral A. In summary, according to the embodiments of the present invention, the insulation performance of vacuum glass can be improved compared with the prior art.
