Embodiment Construction

[0014] Combine below figure 1 A preferred embodiment of the present invention is given to describe the technical solution of the present invention in detail.

[0015] Such as figure 1 , a way to avoid repeated downloads of the same email when using pop3 post office protocol, run as figure 1 The procedure shown includes the following steps:

[0016] Step 1000, the user wants to download an email a;

[0017] Step 1001, obtain the independent ID of a mail through the UIDL command;

[0018] Step 1002, compare the obtained ID with all mail IDs stored locally, if there is already a mail b with the same ID, then execute step 1003; if not, it means that the mail has not been downloaded, and execute step 1006 ;

[0019] Step 1003, utilizing the TOP command to obtain the mail header information of mail a, and obtaining the time stamp of the mail by analyzing the mail header;

[0020] Step 1004, compare the time stamp obtained in step 1003 with the time stamp of the saved mail b, i...

Abstract

The invention provides a method which can avoid downloading identical mails repeatedly when a pop3 post office protocol is used. The method comprises the following steps: S1, through a UIDL command, an independent ID assigned to the mails by a mailbox server for the current mails to be downloaded; and the ID number is recorded; S2, the time tag of the mail is recorded; S3, when a user receives the mail again, firstly, the independent ID number of the mail to be downloaded is inquired by using the U1DL command, and the the independent ID number is compared with the independent ID number of each mail reserved at local, if an identical ID number does not exist, S6 is performed, and if the identical ID number exists, S4 is performed; S4, the time-tag of the current mail is obtained by using a TOP command; S5, the obtained time-tags and the time-tags of the identical ID number are compared one by one, if the time-tags are identical, the downloading of the current mail is given up; and if the time-tags are different, S6 is performed; S6, the current mail is downloaded. The method of the invention has the advantages that weather a mail to be downloaded is loaded or not can be judged, and thereby the receiving time is reduced greatly, and the network data flow is also reduced greatly.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a method for avoiding repeated downloading of the same electronic mail when using the pop3 post office protocol. Background technique [0002] With the acceleration of people's work and life rhythm and the development of mobile network services, more and more people are used to using mobile devices to receive electronic letters in mailboxes anytime and anywhere. This communication process follows the pop3 post office protocol. But for pop3 mail server, there is no concept of new mail. This means that every time the user receives mail, regardless of whether the old or new mail has been read, all the mail in this mailbox will be downloaded again. This results in a great waste. Contents of the invention [0003] In summary, how to utilize the UIDL command and the TOP command provided in the pop3 post office protocol to avoid repeated downloading of locally downloaded mails is the technical problem to be solved by the ...
