System and method for dispensing, sorting and delivering prescription and non-prescription medications through the post office

A pharmacy post office receives prescriptions and produces through an automated pill dispensing and packaging system, pharmacy letters that are sorted and delivered as first class or priority mail pieces. The system packages the prescription medication in carriers that are sized to fit into mail sorting machines that sort the first class or priority mail pieces by postal delivery routes. The pharmacy letters include patient mailing address information such that the pharmacy letters are then fed to the mail sorting machines and sorted along with the first class or priority mail pieces for delivery by the postal delivery persons along their customary routes. The system includes a robotic subsystem that dispenses the medication from pill canisters supplied by the drug companies and provides the pills to an automated packaging system. The packaging system feeds the pills into compartments of a carrier base or blister pack and prints on the carrier or applies as labels thereto drug identification information, mailing address information and tracking information, such as a machine readable code. The packaging system then assembles and seals the carrier, such that mailing address information is available for reading by mail sorting machines. The assembled pharmacy letters are then supplied to the mail sorting machines and included in the first class or priority delivery operations of the post office. A track and trace system may be included to provide a delivery schedule to the patient and/or prescribing doctor. The track and trace system is informed when the packaging system provides a pharmacy letter to the mail sorting machines, and the system determines if the pharmacy letter will be included in the same day postal delivery operations or in the next day operations. When a pharmacy letter is delivered by the postal delivery person, he or she scans the tracking code and transmits information back to the system, which then updates its delivery schedule to show the completed delivery.

Standing cabinet matrix type multi-medium automatic storing and taking device

The invention provides a standing cabinet matrix type multi-medium automatic storing and taking device which comprises a base. The standing cabinet matrix type multi-medium automatic storing and taking device is characterized in that the base is provided with a cabinet-shaped storage bin which can store multiple medium storage boxes with bar codes. A moving lifting type storing and taking mechanism matched with the cabinet-shaped storage bin is arranged at the position, on one side of the cabinet-shaped storage bin, on the base, and the moving lifting type storing and taking mechanism is provided with a recognizer matched with the medium storage boxes. Different media can be stored in a classified manner conveniently through the arrangement of the standing cabinet type storage bin, and the storage amount of the media is greatly increased; due to the action cooperation of the moving lifting type storing and taking mechanism and the cabinet-shaped storage bin, the corresponding media on corresponding storage bin positions can be taken out; and due to the code bars and the code bar recognizer, the needed media are accurately and uniquely taken out, the media in different classes can be taken out on one piece of equipment according to needs, time and labor are saved, limited space is not occupied, and the standing cabinet matrix type multi-medium automatic storage device is particularly suitable for multi-medium automatic storing and taking for units such as banks and post offices.

Method and system for route guiding

A route guiding system and method for use with a navigation device that provides route guidance utilizing portions of speech uttered by a user to further guide the user to a location. The route guiding system includes a route guide request presence or absence determining unit and an institution extracting unit. The route guide request presence or absence determining unit determines whether a pre-registered a route guide request, such as "I see," is included in a user utterance. The institution extracting unit extracts a word related to an institution such as, "post office," from the user utterance. For example, if the user states, "I see a post office." The route guide request presence or absence determining unit identifies "I see" and the institution extracting unit identifies "post office." Further, the route guiding system may include a institution retrieving unit that retrieves institutions located near the position of a vehicle equipped with the navigation system of the invention, an institution candidate selecting unit that selects institutions located along a route guide from among the retrieved institutions, a user-uttered institution specifying unit that specifies an institution uttered by the user from among the selected institutions, and a route guide output unit that makes a guide according to the number of intersections located in the section from the specified institution up to a place to be guided.

Electronic Mailing System

The present invention relates to a method, a system and corresponding devices for electronic transmission of mail pieces such as post cards front a plurality of local input means (55, 56, 57, 58) at a first geographical location, where an electronic version of for instance a post card can be created to a plurality of local reception and delivery centres or printing facilities (72), where a hard copy of the electronic version of a mail piece is created and subsequently delivered to an addressee. Using a preferred embodiment of the system, a user located at a first geographical location can purchase a post card comprising a picture of a local site of interest and using a user interface post (10) provide this post card with a text message and additional modifications together with the mailing address of an addressee, thereby creating a modified electronic version of the post card. Using the system according to the invention, this electronic version is sent to a reception and delivery centre (72) for instance a local post office or a regional post office (4) receiving mail to be distributed to a number of local post offices. At a local post office in the neighborhood of the addressee a hard copy of the electronic version is created and finally delivered to the addressee. World-wide transmission of the electronic version of a mail piece can for instance be effected via the Internet, although in principle any suitable data transmission network could be used. The system comprises a global portion containing data application means (66), storage means (68) and print server means (69), by means of which global portion for instance data can be shared by the different clients and the electronic version of a mail piece can be routed to the appropriate printing facility (72).

Identification method for handwritten numbers

The invention relates o an identification method for handwritten numbers. The method comprises the following steps of preprocessing number images, wherein the preprocessing step comprises the substepsof graying the number images, carrying out binaryzation on the number images, carrying out image denoising, segmenting character strings, carrying out number normalization, and carrying out number refinement; and setting up a deep convolutional neural network model, configuring neural network parameters, generating training set samples and test set samples, adjusting the parameters, training thenetwork model, and identifying the numbers through the trained network mode. According to the method, through preprocessing of the image, influences of noises on the image can be prominently reduced, and the images with different sizes can be normalized into the images with the same size; through utilization of the deep convolutional neural network, the training set samples and the test set samples are generated, the parameters are adjusted, the network is trained, and the numbers are identified through utilization of the trained network model. The handwritten number identification accuracy and rate can be improved under the condition that the complexity is similar, and the method can be widely applied to the fields such as post office letter sorting and bank check inputting.
