The search method based on the browsing content comprises the steps that text content selected by a user from the currently-browsed content is obtained; the text content selected by the user is subjected to segmentation processing; one or more words of the segmentation result is or are determined as the search key word(s); and the determined search key words are transmitted to a search engine for searching. According to the scheme of the invention, the search key words are determined directly according to the content selected by the user, and a user has no need to input the key words manually; and besides, the searching operation can be directly triggered after the user selects the content, the copy / paste operations are not needed, the current page does not need to jump to the searching page, so that the user operation is greatly simplified, and the internet access load of the searching page is also reduced.
