The method comprising: delivering the emergency notification content from the emergency originating source to at least one transmitting party; selecting a subset of users from among a set of users for dissemination of the emergency notification content based on the subject matter of the emergency notification content; and delivering the emergency notification content from the at least one transmitting party to a device corresponding to each user from the selected subset of users.

A biometric method and system for personal authentication using sequences of partial fingerprint signatures provides a high security capability to various processes requiring positive identification of individuals. This approach is further enhanced by employing a frequency domain technique for calculating a Similarity Index of the partial fingerprint signatures. In a baseline usage, the sequential partial fingerprint sequence techniques augments sentinel systems for gaining access to restricted areas, and when used in combination with financial cards, offer a unique and greatly simplified means for authenticating or identifying individuals. A highly automated technique initially obtains a reference set of linear partial fingerprint signatures which serve as reference data against which later proffered candidate data in the form of at least two linear partial fingerprint signatures are compared for authentication. The particular two candidate signatures used and the sequence in which they are submitted are selected with the user's consent and serve as a PIN-like unique personal code. A system for the collection, management, and dissemination of information relating at least to a medical procedure is disclosed. The system includes a user interface adapted to provide raw data information at least about one of a patient, the medical procedure, and a result of the medical procedure. An information management system is described herein which maintains collected information that pertains to users, received from one or more data sources. The information management system also maintains a store of consent information. The consent information describes, for each user, at least one permission rule (established by the user) which enables at least one data consumer to receive at least part of the collected information for that user. Upon the occurrence of a triggering event, an information distribution module operates by distributing identified part(s) of the collected information to appropriate data consumer(s), as governed by the consent information. In this manner of operation, the consent information functions as global metadata which, from a centralized platform, governs the dissemination of the collected information to any data consumer in an application-agnostic manner.

Systems and methods are provided for routing voice communications to groups in a voice communication system. The voice communication system can be a mobile communication system having a plurality of members grouped as logical networks and/or unit task organizations. One or more routers are provided in the system. The one or more routers extract routing information from received voice messages. The routing information is used with a router database to determine which identified group to route the digitized voice packets. The one or more routers can be adapted to receive and route voice communications to different radio types across different logical networks.

A collaborative nomination algorithm is provided for disseminating information amongst a plurality of collaborating vehicles in an inter-vehicle communication network. An ad hoc network organizes itself to provide communications without need for an a priori designated central control mechanism or base stations. Such self-organization is challenging in a multihop ad hoc network having member nodes that are highly mobile and widely distributed. A Synchronous Collision Resolution (SCR) protocol and a Node State Routing (NSR) protocol are well suited to provide efficient ad hoc network organization. SCR is an access protocol that achieves high capacity collision free access using a signaling approach that creates a random cellular-like network after each signaling period. NSR is a routing protocol that uses the dissemination of node states to predict link availability and to assign metrics to those links for the creation of optimized routes. In use, the present invention provides quality of service and supports energy conservation for the mobile nodes.

An interactive communication system including a web-based content brokerage engine for the matching of meta data to audio content and audio+video content, for the encoding of such meta data into the audio-band or video-band channel of the specified audio content and audio+video content with such resulting encoded content being capable of further dissemination through any traditional distribution system. Following such dissemination, the encoded content is played on a playback console, such as a radio, television, or related peripheral content playback device. A device connected to or incorporated within the playback console, both extracts the encoded meta data from the encoded content and transmits the resulting decoded meta data and related information via an attached short-range wireless transceiver to a target device (e.g. a short-range wireless enabled cellular phone). Thereafter, the user's target device allows the user to view relevant portions of the relayed data package as a textual message on the display of the target device, and respond to this message by submitting a user response via the target device keypad. The target device sends a textual message response (incorporating the user response and associated data) via the target device's wireless network's short message service (or equivalent) to an entity, such as the interactive communication system operator, which may thereafter act upon the textual message response so received. A further act of the entity could involve the entity auditing, storing, and analyzing the data relating to the textual message response, forwarding data related to the textual message response to an appropriate further entity, or initiating a subsequent communication back toward the user of the short-range wireless enabled cellular phone, or any combination thereof. The content brokerage engine can also be used for the matching of content and meta data in communication systems distinct from and separate to the interactive communication system.
