Methods and kits for the detection of circulating tumor cells in pancreatic patients using polyspecific capture and cocktail detection reagents
A multi-specific, kit-based technology, applied in the field of oncology and diagnostic testing, can solve the problems that cells are difficult to see or analyze, do not significantly improve the ability to count target cells or check target cells, and achieve the effect of monitoring cancer recurrence

Embodiment Construction
[0031] According to preferred embodiments, the present invention provides compositions, methods and kits for rapid and efficient isolation of rare biological entities from biological samples using multispecific ferrofluids. The method can be used to efficiently isolate and characterize tumor cells present in a blood sample while minimizing the selection of non-specifically bound cells.
[0032] Using multiple capture and detection reagents as described herein, rare cell assays are further improved over previously used single target molecules. This modification improves capture and detection of rare cells such as but not limited to pancreatic CTCs. In addition, non-epithelial markers such as mesenchymal markers (n-cadherin) can be used in combination with epithelial markers to capture both epithelial and mesenchymal tumor cells. The present invention enables simultaneous detection of different populations of rare cells, such as CTCs and different populations of tumor cells.
