Abstract

The invention provides a method and device for controlling sending of a repetition grade measurement report to enhance coverage. The method comprises the following steps: receiving a first message from the device; at least partially based on the detection of the first message, determining whether a second message carries a repetition grade measurement report request instruction and/ or determining the value of the instruction; sending the second message to the device; at least partially based on whether the second message carries the repetition grade measurement report request instruction and/ or the value of the instruction, detecting a third message; and at least partially based on the detection of the third message, determining a transmission format of a fourth message to be sent to the device, wherein, when determining that the second message carries the repetition grade measurement report request instruction, reusing one or more bit, reserved for other instructions, in the second message to send the repetition grade measurement report request instruction.
