The invention discloses a book management method and a book management system, wherein the book management method comprises the steps of transmitting a user book borrowing request by a user client to a server, wherein the user book borrowing request comprises registration account information of the user and bibliography information of the book to be borrowed by the user; receiving the user book borrowing request transmitted from the user client by the server, and querying whether the user has a borrowing right for the book in a book database; if the user does not have the borrowing right to the book, performing a feedback of a fact that the book cannot be borrowed by the server; if the user has the borrowing right to the book, generating an information list of residual borrowable books by the server, and transmitting the information list to the user client; selecting one book from the information list of the residual borrowable books and confirming borrowing by the user client, and then performing feedback of the confirmed borrowing result to the server.
