The invention discloses a remote monitoring method for electric power consumption data. The remote monitoring method comprises the steps of receiving the electric power consumption data which are acquired by an acquisition component; analyzing the electric power consumption data for acquiring an electric power consumption parameter which is carried in the electric power consumption data; and generating a detecting result by means of the electric power consumption parameter in reference to preset detecting items, wherein the preset detecting items comprises electric power consumption amount abnormity detection, electric power quality detection and electric power consumption area distribution condition. According to the remote monitoring method, the acquisition component is used for automatically acquiring the electric power consumption data. A monitoring terminal performs corresponding detection operation after the electric power consumption data are received, thereby realizing purposes of simply and effectively acquiring the electric power consumption data and improving working efficiency.
