Abstract

Disclosed are an electronic device and a display control method. The electronic device comprises a first display unit, a first detection unit, and a processing unit. The first display unit comprises a first visual portion and is used to display first images. The first detection unit is used to detect first parameters in a detection region. The first parameters are used to represent relative distance between a target object and the first visual portion. The detection region is at least partially overlapped with the viewing region of the first visual portion. The processing unit is used to generate to-be-displayed images, and control display of the first display unit at least according to the first parameters. When the first display unit is in a first state, if the relative distance is determined to be smaller than or equal to a threshold distance according to the first parameters, the processing unit controls to switch the first display unit from the first state to a second state. Power consumption of the first display unit in the first state is lower than the power consumption in the second state. Therefore, an automatic state switching method of the display unit is provided.
