The method comprises the steps that the discrete data of initial segment total inbound flights changing with time are counted at every predetermined time interval, and the discrete data are fit into an initial inbound flight quantization function; according to the initial inbound flight quantization function, an initial inbound flight quantity change rate function is determined; according to the initial inbound flight quantity change rate function, an airport inbound and outbound flight wave discrete function model is determined based on the maximum transit opportunity; and according to the airport inbound and outbound flight wave discrete function model based on the maximum transit opportunity, a flight wave is optimized. According to the invention, a third-order incremental least squares fitting method is used to acquire the initial inbound flight quantity change function; a single hub airport flight wave optimization model is set up based on the maximum transit opportunity; and the airport flight wave is optimized through the model to improve transit opportunities of passengers.
