Abstract

The embodiments of the invention disclose a method and apparatus for monitoring grassland biomass by remote sensing. The method includes obtaining a grassland type spatial distribution vector map, a climate vector map, an elevation vector map, an administrative division vector map, a sample data vector map and a vegetation index vector map in a target area; in ArcGIS software, the vector maps being superposed and analyzed as different layers, and then the target area being divided into several regions which are suitable for different biomass estimation models. Before monitoring grassland biomass by remote sensing, a GIS spatial analysis method is used to divide that target area into a plurality of partitions, so that different biomass estimation models can be used for different regions inremote sensing monitoring, which makes the biomass monitoring in the target area more accurate and more suitable for high-precision monitoring of grassland biomass under large-scale and complex conditions.
