Abstract

The invention relate to a coffee maker and a frother, and particularly relates to an appliance for making beverages, which has a French press style carafe and a base adapted to receive the carafe removably thereon. The carafe has a rotatable stirring blade. The base has a motor rotationally coupled to the stirring blade, a heater, and a resting surface in thermal communication with the heater. Energization of the motor causes stirring of the liquid in the pitcher and energization of the heater causes heating of the liquid in the pitcher.
