A stackable and reusable, container cover is disclosed for safe, sealed, and protected confinement of fluid contents therein to prevent, among other matters, spillage, contamination, evaporation and hardening of the fluid contents. The cover consists of a single molded disc shaped device with an elevated flat surface, platform for supporting another container thereon. The cover also provides for multiple and different sized spouts for various and particular flow rates and flow confinements, and angled in such manner for easy drip less pouring. In addition, the cover provides for a significant step in providing a very convenient snap on, attachment, and snap off, detachment means for reuse of the cover on yet another container.

An improved multi-layered diagnostic sanitary test strip for receiving a heterogenous fluid, such as whole blood, to test for presence and/or amount of a suspected analyte in the fluid by facilitating a color change in the strip corresponding to the amount of the analyte in the fluid, wherein the test strip includes fluid volume control dams to prevent spillage of the fluid from the strip and a chemical reagent solution that facilitates end-point testing. The improved test strip comprises no more than two operative layers and: (a) a reaction membrane containing a reagent capable of reacting with the analyte of interest to produce a measurable change in said membrane; (b) an upper support layer defining a sample receiving port for receiving the fluid sample thereat; (c) one or more structures for directing the sample containing the analyte of interest through at least a portion of said reaction membrane; and (d) a lower support layer having a reaction viewing port in vertical alignment with said membrane for displaying said measurable change, said lower support being associated with said upper support to secure said reaction membrane in said test strip.

A graphics system comprises pixel calculation units and a sample buffer which stores a two-dimensional field of samples. Each pixel calculation unit selects positions in the two-dimensional field at which pixel values (e.g. red, green, blue) are computed. The pixel computation positions are selected to compensate for image distortions introduced by a display device and/or display surface. Non-uniformities in a viewer's perceived intensity distribution from a display surface (e.g. hot spots, overlap brightness) are corrected by appropriately scaling pixel values prior to transmission to display devices. A hot beverage lid having thermal protective flex-guards or flaps extending from opposite sides of a cover portion of the lid for protecting a consumer's fingers from heat emanating from the side of a cup. A first flap extends a first distance from under a drinking opening having sufficient area for a thumb. A second flap extends a second distance which is greater than the first flap from the opposite side of the lid and has sufficient area for at least two fingers. Each flap is contoured to conform to the curvature or the sidewall of the cup and each flap comprises swirled rib embossing for improved retention against fingers holding the cup. A system for subatmospheric pressure therapy in connection with the healing of a surgical wound is disclosed. The system may be portable or semi-portable, thereby providing the subject with the ability to be partially or completely ambulatory through the course of the treatment. The system includes a wound dressing dimensioned for positioning relative to a wound bed of a subject and a portable subatmospheric pressure mechanism dimensioned to be carried or worn by the subject. The subatmospheric pressure mechanism includes a housing, a vacuum source at least partially disposed within the housing and in fluid communication with the fluid conduit, a filter in fluid communication with the vacuum source, and a collection canister for collecting exudates from the wound bed removed under subatmospheric pressure. An elevation member is mounted with respect to the housing. The elevation member is adapted to position the housing and canister at a predetermined orientation when positioned relative to a support surface to minimize a potential of at least one of spillage of the exudates from the canister, clogging of the filter or an inappropriate canister full indication.

A method for designing an electronic device including. at least one LED light source to reduce spillage of light from the at least one LED light source includes designing a housing, designing a printed circuit board for placement within the housing, positioning the at least one LED light source on the printed circuit board, and positioning a plurality of electronic components around the at least one LED light source on the printed circuit board to reduce spillage of the light from the at least one LED light source. The electronic device may be an in ear device and the housing may be an ear piece housing.

A mixing cap and method for use thereof, wherein the mixing cap is preferably pre-loaded during time of manufacture with a selected dry or liquid ingredient to facilitate subsequent consumer use. The mixing cap comprises an apertured inner tube threadably-engagable to the mouth of a bottle, and an outer housing cooperatively-engaged to the inner tube and slidably-restricted thereover via a flange arrangement. Preloaded ingredients contained within the outer housing may be introduced or discharged into the bottle by simply depressing the outer housing over the inner tube, thereby permitting the ingredients to flow through the apertures of the inner tube and into the liquid contents of the bottle. The combined ingredients and liquid within the bottle may subsequently be shaken without fear or risk of leakage or spillage.

Disclosed are magnetic conveyor systems and apparatus having a magnetic coupling with a housing and moveable magnet therein. The moveable magnet is substantially constrained in one dimension and adapted to move in another. The moveable magnet is adapted to magnetically couple with an attracting portion of a sample rack and move the rack along a conveying surface. Ease of transfer of sample racks is provided while minimizing spillage from the open sample containers therein. Method of operating the conveyor system are provided, as are other aspects.

A reclosable lid for use with an open-top container is disclosed. The reclosable container lid comprises a cover including an annular top wall having a channel integrally formed therein. A drinking spout in the top wall is adapted to dispense the contents of the container. The reclosable lid uses a slide lock closure feature that prevents spillage during transportation of the open-top container and easy access for opening and drinking. The slide lock closure is configured to engage with the channel to slide longitudinally along the channel between a first position and a second position. In the first position, the slide lock closure opens the drinking spout and in the second position, the slide lock closure closes the drinking spout to inhibit dispensing the contents of the container.

This invention relates to an improved pouring spout of the type of ones which are detachably connected to a filling container for transferring liquid in a receiving container. These kind of pouring spout include an inlet tube for receiving liquid from the filling container, and an outlet tube telescopically mounted to slide onto the inlet tube for guiding liquid therefrom into the receiving container. The spout also comprises a liquid valve which opens and closes automatically upon sliding of the outlet tube. The current invention further comprises an air passage and an air valve for regulating an air flow inside the spout from the receiving container into the receiving container, such that the flow of liquid inside the spout stops automatically when the receiving container is full, thereby avoiding spillage of liquid. The pouring spout of the invention also resolve the problem of emanations related to the transfer of dangerous volatile and highly inflammable liquid.

A system for capturing displaced fluid or pumping fluid through tubulars being run into or out of the wellbore is described. Embodiments are supported by a traveling block and top drive unit with telescoping features to rapidly seal over a tubular to connect the tubular to a mud system. Alternative sealing arrangements for sealing inside the tubular connection are also disclosed. These alternate sealing arrangements also provide flow areas larger than the tubular body since no portion of these arrangements enter the tubular body. All of the sealing arrangements provide a biased area whereby any internal pressure in the invention forces the seals into more intimate contact with their mating seal surfaces. A mudsaver valve having a large flow capacity is described to keep fluid from spilling when the apparatus is removed from the tubular. This mudsaver valve also provides for pumping of fluid into the tubular or flow of fluid from the tubular to the mud system prior to removing the apparatus from the tubular. In these embodiments, the apparatus can be placed in threaded sealing contact with the tubular and can incorporate a safety valve that can be manually closed in the event of a well kick. In another embodiment, a singular control input accomplishes operation of the apparatus to extend or retract the telescoping feature. Also illustrated is a drain valve that provides a method of completely removing all fluid pressure from within the apparatus prior to removing the apparatus from the tubular. The drain system also provides a means of disposing of the excess fluid away from the rig floor where spillage is a danger to the personnel or environment. The drain system can also be connected to a scavenger system that is intended as a vacuum system for removal of spillage. Connection to this system eliminates all possible spillage and completely removes fluids from the tubular handling area.

A method and apparatus for making and breaking tubular connections at the surface of a well by utilizing a pipe joining system. The pipe joining system includes a movable support frame for supporting and integrating on a rig floor the tools associated with making and breaking the connection between two tubulars. Tools incorporated in the pipe joining system include combinations of a wrenching assembly for gripping the tubulars and applying torque to the connection, a spinner for spinning the joints of the tubulars into connection, a positioning tool for vertically and/or horizontally aligning the tubulars in the system, a cleaning and doping device for cleaning and doping the threads of the tubulars, a stabbing guide for properly aligning the tubulars before joining, a mud bucket for handling mud spillage during the breaking of the tubulars, and a control system that remotely operates the entire automated system.

A lid for a drinking cup may include a rim portion and a raised cover portion. The rim portion may be adapted to matingly engage an upper peripheral edge of the drinking cup so as to selectively maintain the lid in a covering relationship on the cup. The raised cover portion may extend from the rim portion, and have a perimeter adapted to impede spillage of liquid over a peripheral edge of the lid. Liquid spilled or released on the cover portion or perimeter portion may drain away from the periphery of the cover portion and into the drinking opening or a recess in the cover portion that is adapted to receive a reclosable tab.

The upper end of the main pot body is connected with a selective laminated pot body and a pot lid, the bottom of the main pot body is connected with a steam-heating plate, and the shell of the main pot body is connected with a water accumulation core and a handle; and the water accumulation core is connected with one end of the steam-heating plate through a water supply pipe, the steam-heating plate can boil water through an external heating source to generate steam, and one end of the steam-heating plate is also connected with an air delivery pipe and an anti-spillage box and extends into the main pot body. The invention has the advantages that the drink-steaming speed is high, the adoption of the steam-heating plate can realize the water boiling within a short term due to the clearance cooking in the small space, and the generated heat can be used for steaming and cooking food; and the thermal energy transmitted from a heat source can be utilized more completely and more directly due to the fin type heat transfer block of the steam-heating plate technology.

The invention relates to dry powder inhalation apparatus usually operable by breath of a user which provides for controlled and smooth transfer of medicament during multiple actuations by a user. A mechanism of the apparatus for achieving this controlled and smooth transfer includes a device (4) normally held adjacent a reservoir for receiving medicament in a cup or receptacle (15) and which is generally movable transversely of a longitudinal axis of the apparatus to delivery channels of the apparatus. This bodily shifting of the device (4) is achieved by a yoke acting on an abutment (16) thereof. Spillage of medicament in the apparatus is avoided.

The invention relates to methods and apparatuses for the subterranean injection of reactive substances like propellants into wellbores and subterranean reservoirs. These methods and apparatuses controls the temperature of a reactive substance for safe handling at surface and controls the decomposition rate of the substances in the subterranean environment. In addition, these methods and apparatuses provide a means for safe dilution of reactive fluids in the event of a leak or spillage of the reactive substance.

In one embodiment, a beverage dispensing container (100) includes a primary chamber (112, 114) for holding a first liquid and a fluid dispensing device (430) coupled to the primary chamber. The fluid dispensing device is adapted to provide access to the primary chamber when in a first position, and is adapted to fluidly seal the primary chamber when in a second position. The primary chamber further defines a cavity (110) adapted to receive a second container (130) therein. The second container holds a second liquid in a second chamber, and has a fluid port adapted to be opened to provide fluid access to the second chamber. A sealing mechanism (200) is adapted to fluidly seal the fluid port when the second container is disposed in the cavity. The sealing mechanism permits the removal of the second container from the cavity and the reinsertion of the second container into the cavity to fluidly reseal the open fluid port. In this manner, a second container, such as an energy drink container, can be opened and then stored in the sports fluid dispensing container of the present invention in a manner which reduces or eliminates spillage from the open second container.
