Abstract

Embodiments described herein provide methods and apparatus for enabling third party developers to use functions in a function as a service platform. The method comprises the following steps: storing one or more corresponding function descriptions associated with one or more functions available for a third-party developer to use in a function directory, wherein each function description comprises an intention and a function name of the corresponding function; receiving, from the first function developer, a function call including an indication of the first intent; and selecting a first function description matched with the first intention from the function directory.
