Abstract

The invention relates to a method for interference cancellation of received data (y) being received via a communication channel (s1, s2,...) in a cellular communication system (GSM) and having corresponding channel impulse response coefficients (h), said method comprising the steps of linear filtering of said received data (y) (S1), and thereafter of executing a non-linear detection to get detected data (a) by non-linear signal processing. According to the preferred embodiment there is provided the step of determining of filter coefficients (w) for linear pre-filtering of said received data (y) to suppress non-Gaussian interference when filtering said received data (y). Further, preferred method comprises the step of processing of the pre-filtered data (z) by non- linear detection to get detected data (a).
