Benefits of technology

The invention is a stable music stand that is supported by a horizontal arm that can slide along a chair arm for adjustable distance from the musician's eyes. It also includes a seat pad for comfort and a hook to hold it in place when the musician leaves the chair. This stand solves the problems of instability and difficulty in reading music on existing stands.

Problems solved by technology

These stands are very unstable, easily tipped over, and distant to the musician, therefore the music is hard to read.

Embodiment Construction

[0003]My invention consists of a horizontal arm. On one end of this arm is attached the music deck, which can slide along the arm so distance to the musician's eyes can be adjusted for better reading of the music. The other end of the arm extends onto the seat of the chair upon which the musician sits. There is a seat pad attached to this end of the arm for comfort. The musician sitting on this pad results in a very stable music stand. There is also a mechanical means shown as a hook attached to this end of the horizontal arm to hold the music stand in place when the musician leaves the chair.

DESCRIPTION OF DRAWING

[0004]This invention is made as follows. The horizontal arm FIG. 1A is cut or fabricated to the desired length and width. The chair hook FIG. 1B and pad FIG. 1C are attached. Supporting legs FIG. 1D for the music deck FIG. 1E are assembled so that the music deck FIG. 1E can slide along the extension arm FIG. 1A or be removed from it. A dashed outline of a chair seat FIG. 1...

Abstract

The buttboard music stand does not stand on legs on the floor. It is supported by one end of the horizontal arm placed between the musician and the chair seat upon which they are seated. The other end of this arm supports the music deck upon which the music is placed.

Description

BACKGROUND OF INVENTION[0001]Music stands presently on the market consists of legs on the floor, a vertical shaft, and on top of this shaft is the music deck upon which the music is placed. The stand is placed on the floor in front of the musician. These stands are very unstable, easily tipped over, and distant to the musician, therefore the music is hard to read. My invention will eliminate these problems.[0002]To my knowledge there exists no music stand like my invention.DESCRIPTION OF INVENTION[0003]My invention consists of a horizontal arm.
