Abstract
Description
Technical Field
[0001] The present application relates to the technical field of metal cleaners, and in particular to a neutral and environmentally friendly metal cleaner, a preparation method and an application thereof. Background Art
[0002] Metal cleaners are a type of chemical agent specifically used to clean impurities such as oil, rust, and oxide layers on metal surfaces. Their purpose is to ensure the cleanliness of the metal surface and improve the effect of subsequent processing or use. There are many types of metal cleaners, among which acidic metal cleaners and alkaline metal cleaners are the most commonly used in the current market.
[0003] Acidic metal cleaners mainly use the acidic chemical properties to react chemically with oil stains, promoting the separation of oil stains from the metal surface. They are generally only used to clean ferrous metals. They have good cleaning effects, but they are more harmful to the environment and human body. In addition, during the cleaning process of metals, the acid in the cleaner reacts with the metal to produce hydrogen. This hydrogen can penetrate into the metal, causing hydrogen embrittlement, thereby reducing the strength and plasticity of the metal. Alkaline metal cleaners use alkaline chemical reagents such as caustic soda to clean metals, using the dispersion effect of alkali on oil stains to achieve the cleaning effect. They are suitable for ferrous metals, but have a corrosive effect on non-ferrous metals such as copper, lead, and zinc. At the same time, the use of alkaline metal cleaners will also cause environmental pollution.
[0004] Therefore, there is an urgent need to develop a metal cleaner that is mild to metal surfaces and environmentally friendly. Summary of the invention

[0017] In order to make the purpose, technical solution and advantages of the present application more clear, the present application is further described in detail below in conjunction with the embodiments. It should be understood that the specific embodiments described here are only used to explain the present application and are not used to limit the present application.

It should be further understood that the term "comprising" used in the specification of the present application means the presence of the features, steps, and operations, but does not exclude the presence or addition of one or more other features, integers, and steps.
[0019] In the text of this application, the terms "first", "second" and the like are used to distinguish between identical or similar items with substantially the same functions and effects. This is only for the purpose of clearly describing the technical solutions of the embodiments of this application, and shall not be understood as indicating or implying relative importance or implicitly indicating the number of the indicated technical features.
[0020] Those skilled in the art will appreciate that, for any specific experimental steps or conditions not specified in the examples, the experiments may be carried out according to the conventional experimental steps or conditions described in the literature in the art; any raw materials or instruments used without specifying the manufacturer are conventional products that can be purchased commercially.
[0021] The embodiment of the present application is based on the formula of the existing metal cleaner and uses multifunctional components for compounding to form a composite phase metal cleaner with a uniform mixture of oil phase and water phase. In the composition formula of the metal cleaner, triethanolamine oleate is used as a surfactant, and the hydrophilic group and lipophilic group in the molecular structure can be adsorbed on the interface between the oil stain and the solution. The hydrophilic group points to the solution and the lipophilic group points to the oil stain, and they are arranged in a direction, so that the oil-liquid interfacial tension is greatly reduced; fatty alcohol polyoxyethylene ether is used as a non-ionic surfactant to improve the emulsification, wetting and diffusion properties of triethanolamine oleate, which helps to improve the cleaning effect of the metal cleaner; sodium benzoate and carboxymethyl chitosan, the combination of the two can have a good effect of inhibiting the growth of microorganisms; disodium ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (disodium EDTA) or sodium gluconate is used as a chelating agent to remove metal surface oxides. At the same time, it is used to complex metal ions to prevent excessive metal ions from interfering with the cleaning process. A small amount of other additives, such as polydimethylsiloxane, are also added to the formula to inhibit and defoam foam during the cleaning process. At the same time, the low surface tension of polydimethylsiloxane makes it easy to spread on the metal surface after metal cleaning, and it can form a uniform film with a high refractive index on the surface of the metal object, thereby enhancing the gloss of the metal surface.
[0022] The present invention combines the functions of each component and further optimizes the mass ratio of the components, and finally forms a metal cleaner with good cleaning performance, rust removal, and microbial inhibition performance. The composition of the metal cleaner does not contain strong acids, strong bases, sulfur, phosphorus and other elements, and the reagents are mild and environmentally friendly.
[0023] Based on this, the present application provides a neutral and environmentally friendly metal cleaner, which includes, by weight: 18 to 20 parts of triethanolamine oleate, 4.4 to 5.1 parts of fatty alcohol polyoxyethylene ether, 0.9 to 1.4 parts of antibacterial agent, 0.2 to 0.5 parts of polydimethylsiloxane, 1.3 to 1.8 parts of chelating agent, and 67.5 to 93.8 parts of deionized water.
[0024] In certain embodiments, the antibacterial agent includes at least one of sodium benzoate and carboxymethyl chitosan.
[0025] In certain preferred embodiments, the antibacterial agent comprises sodium benzoate and carboxymethyl chitosan, and the mass ratio of the sodium benzoate to the carboxymethyl chitosan is 0.8-1:0.5-0.8. Sodium benzoate will dissociate in aqueous solution, releasing benzoate ions (C6H5COO - ), these benzoate ions can interfere with the metabolic activities of microorganisms by changing the pH value inside and outside the cells, thereby inhibiting their growth and reproduction. Carboxymethyl chitosan can penetrate the cell membrane into the microbial cells, bind to the proteins and nucleic acids in the cells, affect the normal physiological functions of the cells, and cause the death of microorganisms; carboxymethyl chitosan can also be adsorbed on the surface of microbial cells to form a layer of polymer film, which prevents the transport of nutrients into the cells, thereby playing a bactericidal and antibacterial role; in addition, chitosan can also be used as a chelating agent to selectively chelate metal ions that play a key role in microbial growth, thereby inhibiting the growth of microorganisms. Through the combined action of sodium benzoate and carboxymethyl chitosan, the metal cleaner has a better effect in inhibiting the growth of microorganisms.
[0026] In some embodiments, the chelating agent is at least one of disodium ethylenediaminetetraacetate, tetrasodium ethylenediaminetetraacetate, sodium gluconate, and sodium citrate. The chelating agent has a good complexing effect on the metal solid particles and metal ions remaining on the surface of the workpiece. During the cleaning process, the oxides are complexed and dissolved by the chelating agent, thereby achieving the effect of rust removal on the metal surface.
[0027] In some preferred embodiments, the chelating agent is disodium ethylenediaminetetraacetate or sodium gluconate. When selecting the chelating agent, it is necessary to consider the chelating ability of the chelating agent and the requirement that the entire metal detergent system is neutral. On the whole, choosing disodium ethylenediaminetetraacetate or sodium gluconate as the chelating agent component meets the requirements.
[0028] In certain preferred embodiments, the mass ratio of triethanolamine oleate to fatty alcohol polyoxyethylene ether in the neutral environmentally friendly metal cleaner is 3.77 to 4.17: 1. The experimental results of the examples show that, based on the original formula, the mass ratio of triethanolamine oleate to fatty alcohol polyoxyethylene ether is further reduced, and the cleaning ability of the metal cleaner on metal is improved.
[0029] In some more preferred embodiments, the neutral environmentally friendly metal cleaner includes, by weight: 20 parts of triethanolamine oleate, 5 parts of fatty alcohol polyoxyethylene ether, 0.8 parts of sodium benzoate, 0.5 parts of carboxymethyl chitosan, 0.5 parts of polydimethylsiloxane, 1.5 parts of disodium ethylenediaminetetraacetate, and 75 parts of deionized water. In these embodiments, the mass ratio of triethanolamine oleate to fatty alcohol polyoxyethylene ether is 4:1, at which point the metal cleaner has the strongest cleaning ability for metals.
[0030] In some embodiments, the neutral and environmentally friendly metal cleaner further comprises a corrosion inhibitor, wherein the corrosion inhibitor comprises at least one of chromate, molybdate, and benzotriazole, and the mass fraction of the corrosion inhibitor in the neutral and environmentally friendly metal cleaner is 0.1% to 0.5%.
[0031] With respect to the above-mentioned neutral and environmentally friendly metal cleaner formula provided in the embodiment of the present application, if a new technical solution is formed by simply replacing each functional component therein or adding similar components, and the same or similar effect is achieved, then such a technical solution should be within the protection scope of the present technical solution.
[0032] Based on this, an embodiment of the present application provides a method for preparing a neutral and environmentally friendly metal cleaner, and the specific steps include: (1) preparing an oil phase mixture: weighing triethanolamine oleate, fatty alcohol polyoxyethylene ether, carboxymethyl chitosan, and polydimethylsiloxane, and mixing them evenly; (2) preparing an aqueous phase mixture: weighing sodium benzoate, disodium ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid, and deionized water, and mixing them evenly; (3) adding the oil phase mixture to the aqueous phase mixture, stirring evenly, and standing for 5 to 12 hours to allow the mixed solution to be completely stable, thereby obtaining the neutral and environmentally friendly metal cleaner.
[0033] In certain embodiments, in step (3), during the stirring process, the mixed solution is heated at a temperature of 30 to 55° C. to enhance the compatibility of the components in the mixed solution.
[0034] In the specific preparation process of the embodiments of the present application, raw material compounds of corresponding mass ratios are prepared for compounding to form various formulations of the above-mentioned neutral and environmentally friendly metal cleaner.
[0035] Based on this, the embodiments of the present application also provide the use of the aforementioned neutral and environmentally friendly metal cleaner in cleaning metal surfaces.
[0036] In some embodiments, the neutral environmentally friendly metal cleaner is used to clean metal surfaces, such as metal pipes, metal panels, oil stains, rust, etc. on metal components of machines. It should be noted that the neutral environmentally friendly metal cleaner provided in the embodiments of the present application is not limited to the above application scenarios.
[0037] In some embodiments, the cleaning method may include but is not limited to the following two methods: (1) pouring the neutral and environmentally friendly metal cleaner into a liquid-absorbing material, allowing it to be completely absorbed, and then rubbing it repeatedly on the metal surface; (2) spraying the neutral and environmentally friendly metal cleaner on the metal surface.

[0098] (3) The first mixture was slowly added to the second mixture, stirred for 30 minutes, and then allowed to stand for 5 hours to obtain a neutral and environmentally friendly metal cleaner C12.
[0099] Cleaning capability verification
[0100] The metal surface cleaning capabilities of the metal cleaners C1 to C8 prepared in Examples 1 to 6 and Comparative Examples 1 to 2 were verified.
[0101] The method for verifying the cleaning ability of metal cleaners on metal surfaces refers to the standard "GB / T 35759-2017 Metal Cleaners". The metal test pieces, test solutions (metal cleaners) and the test operation methods for cleaning power are prepared according to the standard. The specific steps are as follows:
[0102] Dry the prepared test piece in an oven and weigh it. Then add the test solution into the enamel cylinder, immerse the test piece in the test solution and heat it to 40°C in a water bath for 4 hours. Take out the test piece, rinse it with deionized water for 30 seconds, then put it in an oven to dry for 2 hours, cool it to room temperature and weigh it again. Calculate the cleaning power, that is, the mass percentage of oil removed.
[0103] The results of the cleaning power of metal cleaners C1 to C8 on metal test pieces are shown in Table 1 below:
[0104] Table 1
[0105]
[0106] From the results in Table 1, it can be seen that except for the relatively low cleaning power of C7 and C8 prepared in Comparative Examples 1 and 2 (below 81.8%), the cleaning ability of all embodiments and the remaining comparative examples is relatively high (above 85.3%), that is, in the metal cleaner, when the mass ratio of oleic acid triethanolamine to fatty alcohol polyoxyethylene ether is in the range of 3.53 to 4.55:1, the metal cleaners C1 to C6 have a strong cleaning ability for metal oil stains; when the mass ratio of oleic acid triethanolamine to fatty alcohol polyoxyethylene ether is further reduced (3.77 to 4.17:1), the cleaning ability of metal cleaners C1, C4, C5, and C6 for metal oil stains is further improved; when the mass ratio of oleic acid triethanolamine to fatty alcohol polyoxyethylene ether is 4:1, the cleaning ability of metal cleaners C1 and C6 for metal oil stains reaches the strongest, both above 93.3%. This is because the mass ratio of triethanolamine oleate and fatty alcohol polyoxyethylene ether in the metal cleaner affects the cleaning effect. Among the components of the metal cleaner, it is necessary to ensure a high mass proportion of triethanolamine oleate, and to have sufficient fatty alcohol polyoxyethylene ether as a dispersant to increase the diffusion effect of triethanolamine oleate in the cleaner. The optimal ratio in Example 1 and Example 6 (the mass ratio of triethanolamine oleate to fatty alcohol polyoxyethylene ether is 4:1) enables the two to achieve the best synergistic effect in cleaning metal oil stains.
[0107] Rust removal capability verification
[0108] The metal cleaners C1 to C6 prepared in Examples 1 to 6 and the metal cleaner C9 prepared in Comparative Example 3 were respectively subjected to rust removal capability verification tests, and the specific method was as follows:
[0109] 140 iron nails with similar rust levels were prepared and divided into 7 groups, with 20 iron nails in each group; the iron nails with rust were immersed in metal cleaners C1 to C6 prepared in the examples and metal cleaner C9 prepared in comparative example 3 and stirred for 30 minutes; the iron nails were taken out and rinsed with deionized water for 5 times; the iron nails were taken out and then dried with hot water at 50°C to complete the rust removal and cleaning steps, and the number of rust spots in each group of iron nails after cleaning was visually observed.
[0110] The test results are shown in Table 2:
[0111] Table 2
[0112] Metal Cleaner No. C1 C2 C3 C4 C5 C6 C9 Number of iron nails with rust spots (pcs) 1 2 2 1 5 3 15
[0113] From the results in Table 2, it can be seen that the metal cleaners C1 to C6 prepared in the examples have strong rust removal capabilities, while the metal cleaner C9 prepared in Comparative Example 3 has poor rust removal capabilities. This is because the chelating agents C1 to C6 prepared in the examples all use disodium ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid or sodium gluconate, which can complex metal ions during the cleaning process of the iron nails, and then remove the oxides on the surface of the iron nails by cleaning to achieve the purpose of rust removal. From the results in Table 2, it can also be seen that after the metal cleaner C5 prepared in Example 5 cleans the iron nails, the number of rust spots is slightly more than that of the metal cleaners prepared in other examples. This is because the mass proportion of the chelating agent disodium ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid in the metal cleaner C5 is relatively low, resulting in a slightly worse rust removal capability than that of the metal cleaners prepared in other examples. Therefore, in the actual metal cleaner configuration process, the distribution ratio of each group of the metal cleaner can be adjusted in a small range according to the oil stains and rust degree on the metal surface to meet actual needs.
[0114] Verification of the ability to inhibit microbial growth
[0115] The metal cleaners C1 to C6 prepared in Examples 1 to 6 and the metal cleaners C10 to C12 prepared in Comparative Examples 4 to 6 were respectively subjected to a microbial growth inhibition capability verification test, and the specific method is as follows:
[0116] 9 aluminum alloy plates with a length and width of 50 cm×15 cm were prepared, numbered P1-P9, cleaned and dried respectively; then the aluminum alloy plates P1-P9 were respectively immersed in 9 metal cleaner solutions, namely metal cleaners C1-C6, C10-C12 (the corresponding relationship is shown in Table 3 below), taken out after immersion for 10 minutes, and naturally air-dried; Aspergillus niger was inoculated into the liquid culture medium, and slightly shaken for 3 minutes to allow the Aspergillus niger to be evenly dispersed in the liquid culture medium; finally, the liquid culture medium was evenly sprayed on the surface of each aluminum alloy plate, and the growth status of the Aspergillus niger was recorded after 7 days. The recorded results are shown in Table 3 below.
[0117] Table 3
[0118]
[0119]
[0120] From the results in Table 3, it can be seen that the aluminum alloy plates P1 to P6 cleaned by the metal cleaners prepared in the examples of the present application can continuously and effectively inhibit the growth of Aspergillus niger. This is because two antibacterial components, carboxymethyl chitosan and sodium benzoate, are added to these metal cleaners. The synergistic effect between the two can effectively interfere with and destroy the growth conditions of microorganisms, leading to the death of microorganisms. P7 and P8 were cleaned with a metal cleaner with a single antibacterial component, which also has a certain function of inhibiting the growth of microorganisms, but the effect is significantly worse than the metal cleaner prepared in the examples with both carboxymethyl chitosan and sodium benzoate antibacterial components. P9 was cleaned with a metal cleaner C12 without antibacterial components, which basically has no ability to inhibit the growth of microorganisms.
[0121] In summary, the neutral and environmentally friendly metal cleaner prepared by the embodiments of the present application can effectively clean oil stains and rust on the metal surface. The cleaned metal surface has a high gloss and has the effect of inhibiting the growth of microorganisms.
