Embodiment Construction

[0033] In Fig. 1, a combined format of UDF and BDFS is shown. The Blu-ray UDF BDFS combined format has one or more special files distinguished by a filename extension like *.bdv. This "bdv" file acts as a container for the Blu-ray File System bibliography as it is defined for the BD RE.

[0034] This format consists of three areas: first the lead-in area 11, then the data area 13, and finally the lead-out area 15. The data area 13 contains a data block 3 with UDF anchor and partition information, after which the UDF partition starts at 5. UDF file system information and file data are shown 7, and it contains a special file 9 with BDFS content. At 17, the UDF partition ends.

[0035] According to the present invention, in order to realize seamless playback of video, UDF and BDFS extents should match as well as possible. Both file systems should consider the extent size of the other file system when allocating their extents to maintain the BDFS allocation rules as much as po...

Abstract

The present invention relates to a method for guaranteeing the seamless play of the video file which stores the combining format of UDF and BDFS as BDFS (blue optical-disc file document) file in UDF (universal optical-disc format) file system, the method for seamlessly playing the video file comprises a procedure which maps to at least one UDF disc area for establishing a BDFS disc area, wherein the mapping is based on the regulation defined by BDFS.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a method for guaranteeing seamless playback of video files stored as BDFS (Blu-ray Disc File System) files in a UDF (Universal Disc Format) file system using the UDF and BDFS combined format. The invention further relates to computer readable media and storage devices that guarantee seamless playback of video files stored as BDFS (Blu-ray Disc File System) files in a UDF (Universal Disc Format) file system using a combined UDF and BDFS format. Background technique [0002] Blu-ray, also known as Blu-ray Disc (BD), is the name given to the next-generation optical disc format jointly developed by consumer electronics device and PC companies. This format was developed to support recording, rewriting, and playback of high-definition television (HDTV). Blu-ray made it possible to record longer than two hours of HDTV, or more than 13 hours of SDTV, on a 27GB disc. There are also plans for higher capacity discs capable of storing up...
