Abstract

The invention provides a handwriting input device used for total mixed input as well as a method thereof. The device comprises: an interactive unit which is used for receiving character writing input by a user by hand, and executing the interaction with the user according to an interactive mode; an operation processing unit which is used for receiving character writing from the interactive unit, identifying the character writing for obtaining a group of candidate words, and confirming the interactive mode to be adopted according to the identified candidate words; and a storage unit for storing the character writing input by the user by hand and received by the interactive unit as well as a feature library of total mixed characters, wherein, if the operation processing unit recognizes thatthe preferred candidate word is a special candidate word, the rest candidate words are any words of Chinese characters, digits, English letters and punctuations, and a logic arithmetic unit notifies the message which confirms the interaction with the user by a letter and phonetic alphabet mixed mode to the interactive unit.
