The data sharing method comprises the following steps of: sending a data sharing request to a second instant messaging (IM) terminal by a first IM terminal; responding the data sharing request and sending a share-allowing reply message to the first IM terminal by the second IM terminal, wherein a sharable data resource identifier set is carried in the share-allowing reply message; sending a data reading request to the second IM terminal by the first IM terminal, wherein at least one data resource identifier is carried in the data reading request; and sending a data resource corresponding to the data resource intensifier carried in the data reading request to the first IM terminal by the second IM terminal.
