Abstract

Embodiments of the invention provide a method and a device for network awareness. The method comprises the following steps of obtaining an access way for connecting electronic equipment into a network; when the access way of the electronic equipment is that the network is connected through wireless access equipment, obtaining an internet protocol address of the electronic equipment, wherein the electronic equipment is connected to the wireless access equipment through a wireless connection way; and determining the access way for connecting the wireless access equipment into the network based on the internet protocol address. The method and the device can provide the possibility for reducing the condition that the electronic equipment is unable to visit the network regularly or the network access is failed when a network connection of the electronic equipment is realized through connecting a wireless hotspot.
